This review is actually for the location in Belle Plaine, by the Ridgeview clinic…read more My insurance wasn't working and I needed to contact the insurance company and the clinic for a medication that was covered. Jill was so great. She spoke with Mayo for me and verified that insurance was active, as it took a few hours. There was a lot of confusion and a lot of back and forth. One of those days where you don't get much done because you are on the phone and monitoring activity because you need to get that prescription, ASAP! I will be using this pharmacy in the future.

When I arrived, they told me only one was ready but that they could fill the second one in 20 minutes, promising to announce my name over the speakers when it was done. After walking the aisles waiting, I returned to the pharmacy counter only to find the shutters completely pulled down. Staff members were actively walking out the door next to the window. When I asked about my medication, one of them dismissively told me, "We are closed and we can't do anything about it," and just walked out without a care.I spoke to the store manager, who apologized but claimed she couldn't do anything. She then tried to claim they had announced my name over the speaker. When I asked her what name they called, she said "Birbir"--which is not my name at all. I wasted a full hour of my time and left without my essential medication due to pure incompetence and a total lack of empathy. It is deeply shameful that this pharmacy treats a loyal, 10-year patient with such blatant disregard.

This pharmacy was terrible. The doctor after prescribing pain medication after surgery assured me…read morethat they would be ready by the time general anesthesia wore off. 45 mins later the lady at the pharmacy when I arrive told me it's an additional 30 mins wait. After getting the prescription 45 mins before. They said they didn't set the time for the safe. I mean if you get a prescription faxed why wouldn't you just fill it and do what you need to in order to fill it. I.e. setting the safe. It's completely unprofessional and it forces me to lapse into pain. I'm extremely disappointed in this.

The regular store staff are nice, but they aren't as helpful as some of the other Walgreens that I have been to - they aren't rude, they just don't go out of their way to be nice. It's a fairly large Walgreens, but then again it's in the Midwest where land is cheaper and buildings are larger. My "what is normal" for buildings has changed a bit after living in the NYC metro area and then later the SF Bay area. You have aisles full of the typical Walgreens stuff, drugs, makeup, stuffed animals, etc. What interested me was the aisle of food. There selection was at least as good as a gas station with a long aisle with chips, nuts, chocolates, popcorn, and dried fruit. The glass cases have drinks and even ice cream if you want to get really decadent. The bathroom is down a long hall and they have one room. I hope by the time you stop you are able to h old it for at least a minute or two because you will need it to walk all the way down the hall. The store was fairly well lit and reasonably clean. All in all a decent stopping point.
