I stood at the door waving as he ignored me and then when he could no longer ignore my presence he finally acknowledged me, by shewing me away with a flap of his hand. Maybe they forgot why they opened this place. but it no longer feels like a place from the heart. I live in my car and this was my one comfort to help make my hard cold nights just a litttle easier. now tonight I'll be in the cold rain, with nothing. I was told I couldn't because the drip coffee machine had already been turned off for the night. My only option was to order a latte, which I reluctantly did. While waiting for my drink, I noticed that a large section of the restaurant had already been blocked off with chairs, making it seem like they were closing well before the actual closing time. Then I asked to use the restroom. As a paying customer, I was shocked when I was told I couldn't because they had already cleaned it. When I pointed out that the store didn't close until 8:00 PM and it was only about 7:45 PM, the staff repeatedly told me that I couldn't use the restroom because it had already been cleaned. That was their only explanation. I find it completely unreasonable that a business can be open, serving customers, taking orders, and accepting payment, but deny customers access to the restroom because employees started their closing duties early. If you're open until 8:00 PM, customers should be able to use the facilities and order menu items until 8:00 PM. It felt like the staff was more focused on leaving on time than serving customers during posted business hours. I didn't make a bigger issue of it in the moment, but I left feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and disappointed. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and unfortunately, I won't be returning to this location. Businesses should honor their posted hours and treat customers with basic courtesy right up until closing time.
