Chris and I will miss you!!! ------------------- It's going on 90 days since we moved into Cornell Mill Lofts, so I just wanted to give my impressions thus far. First, I'll say that finding an apartment during the Summer is, well, no vacation! We only had a short window from the time we had to vacate our previous address, to the time we had to find a new one. Thankfully, when I contacted Cornell Mil Lofts-- while driving and searching for apartment vacancies-- Joyce answered the phone, and she said to come down "now" and she would find us something. She did, and went above and beyond to get us into our apartment within days; not weeks or months. It's been a very pleasant experience to date. We really love the apartment and for our lifestyles, it's perfect. We have enough space for entertainment, dining, each with our own work/office areas... and that's just in the main room. Really liking the large windows that soar to the high ceilings, which bring in all the natural light we can handle! Old wood floors add much character, mixed with the more modern appliances and fixtures. The grounds/parking lot are well lit, and I feel very secure in and around the building, day or night. Unlike our last residence, trash/recycling is a breeze with separate dumpsters nicely situated at the far end of the parking lot. Also, a dedicated mail room means I won't have to worry about packages being left unattended outside. In 90 days, we did have one light bulb go out, which usually is not a problem at all-- except the ceilings are *really* high, so without any way to climb 15 feet, I had to put in a maintenance ticket. Within a day the bulb was replaced, good as new. That process was super-easy, just creating a ticket on the tenant portal. I will say I had one other problem, but that was with FedEx. FedEx delivered a few packages to another mill building nearby, but I couldn't find out from FedEx where that was. So I printed out the photos from the FedEx tracking page, and I asked Joyce if she could help me investigate. She was a great help, and I was ultimately able to retrieve my new rug! Thanks Joyce! Was super happy with my experience at Alden Lofts. I lived here from April to October 2024 while attending a school at the Naval Station in Newport, RI. It was definitely a nice apartment and much cheaper than what was available in Newport. However, I was very disappointed when it came time to get my security deposit back after I moved out, and discovered that I had been charged almost the entire deposit (they were nice enough to mail me a check for $20) to replace the stove top because it had been "destroyed". I hardly even cooked on the stove top so to be held responsible for the entire replacement of it after I had moved out completely took me off guard. It felt as if I was being taken advantage of for cutting my lease with military orders, as I would not be coming back to Massachusetts to fight this. Lesson learned on my end. If you choose to live here it'll probably be a decent experience. Just make sure you request a walk through inspection before it comes time for you to move out so they don't try to pin damages on you from out of nowhere. read more

I am active duty military and lived at Cornell Mill Lofts while being stationed in New England. I can say that the staff and living experience at Cornell was great! If I ever had an issue Joyce, in the front office, would assist me with it as soon as she could. The maintenance crew were quick and did a good job. I lived here for a year and a half. I wanted to take a moment to share my wonderful experience as a previous resident of Cornell Mill for approx. 4 years. The management, leasing staff, and maintenance team always provided a high level of responsiveness, warmth, support and respect throughout my residency. Their dedication to maintain a welcoming community to all who entered did not go unnoticed, and played a huge role in making Cornell Mill feel like home. The property itself is very well maintained, and I always appreciated the quick turn around on work orders. The festive holiday decorations added throughout the holiday season always added "homey" touch to the community. Although my girlfriend would have appreciated more cabinets and an island in our kitchen, the outstanding service and prime location more than compensated for this minor inconvenience. We particularly enjoyed the convenience of package acceptance, additional on-site storage, awesome amenities, and well-lit parking lots at night, contributed to an overall great experience. Despite some negative reviews I've come across, I can confidently say that my positive experience was a result of their commitment to upholding the well thought out/spelled out community policies. It's disheartening to hear the disgruntled comments of those who may not have adhered to the community policies or may not have gotten their way in some shape or form. Being a resident of approx. 4 years, we ran into a few concerns/questions and each time management went above and beyond to assist. All of our questions and concerns were handled professionally and we always felt like mattered. Needless to say, my girlfriend and I wholeheartedly recommend Cornell Mill to anyone in search of a beautiful, clean, and welcoming community. My only regret is that my job was transferred; otherwise, we would have continued to call Cornell Mill our home. read more

The building is well maintained; management is always helpful and friendly whenever we have a question or concern; and maintenance has always been quick to respond to and repair any issues that arise in our home. The management is terrible. Do not live here it looks nice but the people suckkkk. The pull new rule out of there a$$. You can even use one of the closets in your apartment. I just would say Dont live in fall River in general. You walk out the door and there homeless people and the management just say they can't do anything about it. My husband and I along with our fur babies have been living at Cornell for 5 years. We were the 3rd tenants to move in when Cornell Mill opened in 2018. Rented sight unseen. 1st ever in our beautiful unit. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our living experience here. The ladies in the leasing office Joyce and management Tanya have always gone above and beyond to help us in any way, never a complaint. The office staff are always so welcoming, and hospitable. I'm not a native to Fall River and living here I've always felt safe and secure. The building is quiet, well maintained, always clean, and grounds are gardened professionally. The amentities; game room, movie theatre, gym, and basket ball court are a great convenience for active individuals like ourselves. We have even hosted several functions in the party room over the years. We have no reservations on if we question renewing our lease with them. We have a beautiful apartment and comfortable lifestyle. I'm saddened to read that other disgruntled tenants would try to defame leasing office character or bad mouth their living quarters that they chose to settle and love in the beginning, but dislike and hate because they didnt get their way with nonsense in the end. If you are looking for "Mill" style living, you will be very satisfied with Cornell Mill Lofts on Alden Street. read more

It's going on almost two years since my husband and I sold our home and made the move to Cornell Mill. We couldn't be happier! We felt it was only fair to voice our experience as current residents, despite the negative feedback from others. Living here has been an absolute delight, and we can confidently say that it has exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The effort put into maintaining the cleanliness of a building this size cannot be an easy task, but somehow this place shines! It always smells so nice and clean. The leasing staff/management have always been welcoming and responsive to our needs/concerns. We appreciate their gentle approach to enforcing policies when needed. The dedication of the office staff and the responsiveness of maintenance team have remarkable! Something that anyone can appreciate coming from their own home. We've experienced occassional challenges over the last two years, such as residents not picking up after their pets, but we've witnessed firsthand the measures taken by Cornell Mill staff to address these issues (emails have gone out, multiple reminder notices left at our door, and even they even spend time to review camera footage). I've never experienced such level of care living in an apartment building! They make it so easy for residents with pets - some people are just lazy! There's no excuse for it, nor is it the office's fault. There are several pet stations throughout the property that are always stocked and the attached cans are emptied a couple times of week! Working from home has allowed me to observe the day-to-day care that goes into the building and outside grounds. The consistent efforts, from maintaining cleanliness to promptly addressing building repairs, have not gone unnoticed. It's obvious that Cornell Mills team care about their residents and the building itself! Personally, this has allowed me to feel safe and has created such a positive living experience/transition. Not many people our age can say that about communities here in the city... I'd like to highlight the outstanding job done in maintaing the amenities. May sound silly, but this is important to us! Unlike previous placed I've lived/visited, access to amenities has always been available and well-maintained, even during the temporary issue with the gym's temperature. My husband and I appreciate the transparency in communication regarding the issue and the prompt fix! I will admit, it was getting a bit chilly in there! Most buildings of this size, with this many people, probably face great challenges, and I commend Cornell Mill for professionally managing and addressing them. Terrible, that's all you need to know. This place is exactly like all these states that give more rights to illegal immigrants, They could careless about the people that live here and more about the homeless people or the people that live across the street. If you live here you will regret it, They promote you to there with all these things that look nice but its just for looks. There dog poop, cigarettes, and trash everywhere out side. They will come at you for every little thing but will not hold them self's accountable, the lights for out side are never on at the right time and the gym is always 30 degrees. The staff are terrible except one is very nice, they try and there stuff on there lease that they break the rules all the time about but its to much time and effort to go after them about it. I really recommend to just not live in fall river there dog shit on all the side walks and the exit right near the building is littered with tents full of homeless people. read more

Least professional management group. Must put everything in writing or they claim conversations never took place. I had to contact the city after management refused to fix any emergency egress lighting in the hallways. All 4 floors went over 10 months without the required emergency egress lighting. I then recieved a nasty call from Tanya (ring leader of bad management) after my complaint to the city. It should be noted I tried to work management for several months before getting the city involved. Management is bias and sexist. They chose who has to follow the rules and allow others to not follow them (the man with the 2 unaltered pitbulls still resides in the building even though it violates lease rules). Whenever I put a maintenance request in it would take weeks to get matters resolved and countless followups. Garbage disposal broke numerous times, fridge/ice maker had issues the whole time (5 years). Dryer door hinge broke and they refused to fix it. Maintenance team is a joke and cannot accurately fix or repair anything. Price will go up every year. They do not properly notify you if they wish to not renew your lease (yes it is considered retaliation in the state of MA since I had contact with the city regarding issues). When moving out Joyce in the office was EXTREMELY unprofessional. She kept giving dirty looks and making comments. Overall not worth the $ to deal with the constant issues and pettiness. This has happened to MANY tenants of theirs! read more

I concur with much of what was written in the previous reviews. The water pressure is pretty poor and the storage was poorly thought out. Nevertheless, the price is considerably lower than other rentals in the region, and so I guess you get what you pay for. Sadly, this applies to the responsiveness and thoughtfulness of the management team. Early on during the pandemic, I noticed that practically no one wore masks in the public areas, despite local and state regulations insisting that people do so or face a stiff fine. I repeatedly wrote to the management team about this and implored them to post reminders throughout the building. Nearly a month later they sent a rather lame letter to residents reminding them of this obligation. It took them six months to finally start publicly posting mask requirements and to add a hand sanitizer station in the lobby. In light of the fact that many residents come from some of the most vulnerable demographics, management's actions (or lack of action) was appalling. This inaction applied to the way in which they addressed tenant disputes as well. After we had lived in the building for nearly two years, the neighbor below us (who have lived underneath us for over a year) suddenly began complaining that my wife and I "stomped" around in our unit at 6 am. Nothing had changed in our behavior. I was getting ready for work, as I always did, only now I did so under threat of eviction. When I recommended an actual investigation into what our neighbors might be hearing, management was silent for nearly 60 days, at which point they gave me a 20 day perform or quit notice. Fortunately, I know a lot of attorneys, several of whom suggested we fight the matter in court, but the potential cost of that pursuit and our general disgust with management and distrust of our neighbor's reactions led us to pursue an early exit from the building. I know from speaking to other neighbors, that they have experienced similar threats for making noise that they are not making (sometimes when they literally weren't in the building!) and management has been as feckless and unresponsive with them as they were with us. I guess they figure they can make more money evicting decent tenants and then raising the rent on the next sucker. Like I said, the price is great, but you get what you pay for. read more

Mediocre apartments. Size for price is the main benefit. Nicer apartments available at same price point in the area. These apartments are subpar for what is available elsewhere at the same price. You might get more sq ft here than elsewhere. That would be the only plus. Cabinets are nice looking but cheap overall, poorly installed with unfinished edges showing and reveals not installed - door gaps not blocked. Original floors look great, with a vintage appeal, but they are hard to clean. Large gaps between boards leave room for dirt and pet materials to accumulate. Old nails, screws and sometimes bolts and washers are left protruding from floor boards, or shellacked into the boards, waiting to grab you later. Appliances are mediocre, stainless steel look, low end. Limited storage. No drawers in bathroom vanities. No hand towel rings or hooks. Low water pressure. Tubs are oddly high, making getting in or out of shower difficult, especially for older or physically challenged residents. Cheap carpet, cheap window treatments. All old mill character except for flooring has been covered over with Sheetrock, including beams and ceiling. Poorly insulated between floors and adjoining apartments. You can hear neighbors very well. Amenities are ok. In line with similar mill conversions. There is a pool table, shuffle board table, and a dog wash, small workout room, basketball court, and a media room. Witnessed several drug deals in parking lot, near dumpsters. Management was indifferent. Dog waste accumulated on the grounds. Management responded they didn't have enough staff to cover the cleanup. Someone vomited on the sidewalk right at the front entrance door. No one cleaned it up. Residents had to walk through it or around. Eventually, rain washed some of it away, but vomit remained on the bottom part of the door for several weeks. Dog restriction policy is selectively enforced. If management likes you or thinks you're cute, you can obviously have any breed of dog you want, unaltered (not neutered). Two large unaltered pit bulls owned by one current resident are the prime example. Several others. Management is biased and overall unfriendly. Every complaint or concern is met defensively or dismissively. Again, this is selective. Access onto Eastern Avenue can be challenging. If you travel at high traffic times, it is sometimes difficult to turn left onto Eastern. It's always risky, as cars often travel well above the speed limit and visibility is not great for observing oncoming traffic. read more
