So if y'all have read my reviews my favorite brunch dish is country fried steak with gravy and eggs. It was meh. The gravy was luke warm and pretty tasteless. The coffee was good and my table mates enjoyed their sandwiches but it's certainly not remarkable or particularly memorable. I heard the pies are fantastic but didn't get a chance to try them. Passable for diner food. read more

Located in ladera ranch at the end of crown valley and Antonio pkwy in a shopping center with plenty of free parking. We came in for dinner on Monday evening there was no wait but the restaurant had plenty of customers. We decided on cheeseburgers and a pancake as our dessert. The cheeseburgers came out just as we ordered them medium well and hot steak fries. Food was delicious great ranch to dip our fries too. Our pancake was huge! Covered the plate, Still was delicious between the two of us we ate 1. Great service and good food. I will come back again plenty of variety on their menu. read more

We decided to go to Corky's to end our day after playing in a volleyball tournament. The food was delicious and the service was beyond amazing. If you want greasy and unhealthy food, this is the place. The quality of the food is terrible. Blueberry pancakes were disgusting. The bacon is as bad as Denny's; cheap, thin, and too narrow. Not quality thick cuts of bacon. And you get a measly two strips which is more like once slice of bacon or less given how thin it is. The countertops and chairs are filthy. Coffee is atrocious. I can't wait for the day they put a quality breakfast place like Snooze in Ladera Ranch or at the corner of Oso and Antonio (over that unnecessary bike shop). The only bright spot about Corky's is their service. That seems to be holding up. You can also judge the quality of a place with the size of people that show up. Been coming here regularly for breakfast for over 10 years but today was the worst. There were 10 of us and the service was fine as far as efficiency was concerned but several orders were not correct, hash browns were crispy on top but completely raw in the centre, and eggs that were ordered "over medium" were only half cooked so that parts of the egg white were still transparent. Will be reconsidering whether we go back. read more

If your goal is to get as many calories as possible and don't care about quality or flavor, this is the place for you. The one good: Speed. Our food came out extremely fast. Over abundance of flavorless food. Clearly very low quality ingredients. The chicken in my skillet was completely unseasoned and looked and tasted like that frozen, processed junk Subway serves. Eggs are pale and flavorless. Hash browns were ok. Not really worth the calories. I've had SIGNIFICANTLY better food from Denny's (bonus Dennys is cheaper). Meal was not worth $70 nor worth eating. read more

What a cute little diner style restaurant. Came on a Tuesday evening because the child wanted pancakes for dinner and grandma was over to treat. The food was not phenomenal, but very typical diner style food. Tons of options, and large portions. Also had the pot pie and garden salad, which, again, were good for the type of establishment. Service was excellent, as she was patient and attentive to us, although it seemed like she was the only server despite it being very busy for a Tuesday. We ordered a meal to go, which they forgot the fries, but they remedies the situation be providing fries when we called and informed them we did not receive them. So I had only been to Corky's a few times in the past and always while drinking and out late in the am hours. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs plate. It came with Chicken Fried Steak, 3 eggs (over easy), hash browns and to my surprise I was able to choose biscuit and gravy instead of toast. I also ordered a side of Sausage Patty and a side of Polish Sausage to try them. Good ole Grubhub had sold the place as being able to delivery in 20-30 minutes but upon putting my order in that changed to 50-60 minutes. The driver dropped off the food a smidge earlier than predicted so it was still warm. My first impression was not good as the polish sausage grease ate holes in the styrofoam and leaked all over everything else in the bag. My eggs were done correctly, the has browns were just barely brown and the chicken fried steak had enough gravy to cover the top. Where things went wrong was the rest. The biscuit and gravy was enormous. It was a good 3-4 inches thick and NOT cut in half. They just dumped a piddly amount of gravy over the top. The gravy was bland, didnt have any chunks of meat in it and had a greasy feel to it. I wouldnt even rate it so-so. Very poorly executed, I suggest you stay away from the biscuits and gravy which is a shame as its one of my favorite things to order when I get breakfast. The sausage patty was one patty but it was a good inch thick. I have never seen a patty so thick before. It was browned on both sides and amazingly was cooked all the way through, no pink in the middle. But thats where amazing stopped. The sausage had no flavor at all. No seasoning, nothing. The polish sausage was a big let down as well. It came with 2 sausages that were split in 3 lengthwise, so you had 2 outside pieces and a center piece all still attached and then seared to the point they had no juices in them at all. Just dry, charred pieces of greasy meat. I paid $43 and change for this and ate only the chicken fried steak, some of the eggs and hashbrowns, half of the sausage patty and 1 polish sausage. It left a greasy feeling in my mouth which I could only get rid of once I brushed my teeth. My stomach is doing flip flops over the overall greasiness of the meal. I wont be back. Dont bother adding a message about wanting to talk to me, I wont be back even if I was offered free meals forever. I should have heeded the other reviews complaining of the same thing. read more

An open floor plan restaurant with very affordable breakfast specials but can sometimes be a little too overcrowded since they do not take advanced reservations. Additionally all of the seating outside is in the sun and they got rid of the tents that covered outdoor seating for those that want a little shade with their meal. They are good with kids however the chaos of the open floor plan makes it difficult to find a safe place to put a stroller and it can be easy for people to bump into each other read more

So for 24 hour diners selection is pretty slim as really only Denny's in the immediate vicinity and service and quality can be lacking but there is also Corky's Kitchen. It'a more akin to a Coco's vs a Dennys because can grab a decent pie or a solid muffin as they have the bakery aspect. The service here can be slow but it is rarely crowded and their overall prices have not really gone up much considering inflation and cost of goods. Tried their renown chicken pot pie (may also choose Turkey instead) and its reputation is well earned. It's enormous as almost as big as a regular pie pan. The crust is buttery and flaky, the chicken is moist as well as plentiful, and the vegetable and the sauce mixed in make for a divine combination of flavors. It's a massive meal and comes with choice of a great dinner roll or a muffin. I could only power through half before tapping out but look forward to eating it again as this is well received comfort food during the cold fall and winter days. read more

Corkys! It's like a hole in the wall dennys! Its open 24/7 and has a large selection from all breakfast to burgers to steak to fish! They have friendly vegetarian options too! I've never had a bad time at Corkys. The staff is always so nice too. The best part about Corkys is that at night time it doesnt get crowded with parties of people who are looking for a snack after drinking or partying. The food is pretty good, and the portions are HUGE. I can never finish my meals! Love it! read more

An update so soon?! Yep. Corky's has become that quick and easy weekday breakfast spot. This time around I went rogue and ordered lunch for breakfast. In yo face, America! My month long veg fest is officially over and the Turkey Cobb sandwich was calling my name! Toasted rye bread, turkey, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, and blue cheese. This was delicious, simple, and had amazing fresh flavors and textures. A little heavy with the bleu cheese crumbles, but I powered through. You can order basically any side with this so I subbed the fries for cottage cheese. Glad I did, because this Sammy is very filling. The evening before my brother's fiancée's birthday, my parents and I visited the store to order a cake for the celebration. We were assisted by an employee named Aiden. From the beginning, he showed little to no customer service--there was no greeting, friendliness, or engagement during the interaction. Despite this, we continued with the order and specifically requested a fresh cake to be picked up the following day at 3:00 PM. The next day, when my mother and brother went to pick up the cake, my mother noticed that the display cake that had been in the case the previous evening was no longer there. She asked Aiden if the cake he gave them was the display cake. Instead of responding, he simply stared at her and did not answer the question. My brother also noticed the lack of basic customer service and found the interaction very strange and unprofessional. Later that day, we brought the cake home and served it during the celebration. As soon as we cut into it, everyone noticed the cake was very different and tasted horrible. It tasted stale and dry. The strawberries were very mushy and smelled spoiled. None of us finished our cake slices and still have a large portion remaining. The following day, I called the store to explain the situation. A female employee answered the phone and told me she was busy with customers but would call me back shortly to sort out the issue. About 30 minutes later, I received a call back, and it was Aiden again. I explained everything that happened, but once again he showed no concern, empathy, or professionalism. When I asked about my mother's question regarding whether the cake was the display cake, he claimed he "didn't hear" her question. He did not apologize for the experience and simply offered a free slice of cake as compensation. My family and I have purchased cakes from this location several times before and have always enjoyed both the quality of the cakes and the customer service. In fact, my family has owned restaurants and businesses ourselves, so we understand very well how important customer service and quality are in the hospitality industry. This is not the way customers should be treated, which is why this experience was so disappointing to us. This is the first time we have ever had to complain. We were very surprised that a cake we specifically requested to be fresh tasted bad and have been displayed for days. Aiden also mentioned that cakes and pastries can remain out for up to two days, which was concerning given the quality we experienced. We truly loved this location and had always enjoyed coming here in the past. Unfortunately, what could have been a small issue turned into a very negative experience due to the lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care from the manager on duty. Because of this experience, my family and I will no longer be returning to this location in the future. I hope this issue can be addressed so other customers do not experience the same situation.
