This studio is BUMPIN! Love the new speakers. I always get pumped up going to classes here. Great teachers and great beats.

I've been a loyal member of CorePower Yoga and regularly attend classes at the Old Town studio every Monday, especially Lindsey's incredible Yoga Sculpt sessions -- she's truly one of the best instructors I've ever had. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning my commitment to this location. During a class on March 17, 2025, my winter jacket and shoes -- together worth approximately $900 -- were stolen from the locker area. I had no choice but to use an open, unlockable locker because all the others were either broken or occupied -- a serious problem, especially at a studio with two active classrooms and simultaneous sessions. Even after the class ended and the studio was empty, one locker remained locked -- clearly being used for storage outside of class hours, further limiting availability. The studio manager did offer an apology and mentioned that he would request access to the security footage to support an investigation. While I appreciated the quick acknowledgment, that's where the support ended. No offer of compensation, no help in dealing with the immediate impact -- I had to walk home barefoot in the cold and rain of a Chicago evening. It felt like a box was checked, rather than real care shown. What made the situation worse is that I was told I can't view the footage myself and that it would only be shared with law enforcement. As the person directly affected, I find this lack of transparency and limited cooperation extremely frustrating -- especially since I'm trying to recover my own belongings. I also train at the Gold Coast location on Fridays, where all the lockers are functional and the setup is far more organized -- and that's in a studio with just one classroom. The discrepancy between the two locations is stark, and it's unacceptable that a flagship location like Old Town hasn't addressed basic issues like locker maintenance and secure storage. CorePower charges premium prices and promises a premium experience. I expected better -- and deserved better. read more

I took Alana's yoga sculpt class last week at Old Town CorePower and it was one of the worst exercise experiences I have ever had. Alana was extremely condescending, unpleasant, and demeaning throughout the entire class. She did not allow any modifications, and if someone stopped to take a drink of water or modified a move in any way she pointedly and aggressively called them out in a way that was meant to embarrass and shame. On top of that, she had lost her voice so she was very hard to hear. We missed several of her instructions due to this, and she got visibly angry and basically yelled at us (to the extent she could) and said that we weren't trying and din't care or want to improve. I can't emphasize how untrue this was. There were 6 of us in the class and we were all trying extremely hard, dripping in sweat, and hardly taking any breaks. The tone of the class was incredibly hostile and the antithesis of everything CorePower and a yoga practice should stand for. We should be lifting each other up, not shaming and insulting. Everyone has a different skill level, but that does not mean they can't come to class and modify moves to match their abilities. I had been going to CorePower consistently over the last few months and was contemplating purchasing a black tag membership. However, after my experience today I have changed my mind. I'm disappointed that CorePower would allow someone like that to teach a class and it hurts my overall impression of the brand. read more

I recently made my way back to CorePower Yoga, and this is the closest location to me now. I checked the app, and saw a C1 at 8pm, and thought perfect! However, when I got there I learned that the class was cancelled even though the app showed it as still active. I was super bummed thinking I had to wait for the next class at 8:45pm, and it being a C2 I was not comfortable taking that class. Well, I am giving this location 5 stars because Madeline understood my concerns and was able to make my night by doing an impromptu C1 class. She didn't have any classes until the 8:45 C2 so she took me through a C1 flow even though she technically didn't have to(was not her class). What a great customer experience! I will definitely be coming back to take Madeline's classes. She is fantastic. read more

I used my free week trial of CorePower and loved it! I went to this location only once and wish I would have gone several more times. The space is larger than most studios and the bathrooms are super nice. The studio itself is really large but there are a few limitations on where you can put your mat because of the concrete pilars. Just make sure you get there early to get a spot where you can see the instructor really well. My teacher kicked MY BUTT and I wish I could do this class weekly for that reason! It basically boot camp style but with yoga and strengh moves. I highly recommend it!!! read more

I did the trial run for one week free. I loved my first instructor at streeterville, but then I came to this location and it wasn't very welcoming and the class was exactly like the class I had at streeterville ... No personalizing at all, just like robots. Get in and get you out but I guess I was looking for more of a mind to body connection rather than the actual workout. I would have just stayed at the gym if I wanted just the body work out. A huge reason why I do yoga is to balance out my regular gym work outs and daily life stresses so you could say corepower is not for me. I also disagree with them having mirrors as I have worked with studios without mirrors and it is so much better to not worry about how you look and just listening to the instructor and following your instinct with your body. It's so much more relaxing this way. People at this location also seemed stuck up rather than providing a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. read more

Everything. The atmosphere, the merchandise selections, the teachers, the entire program, the community and the ways in which it all links together to form a lifestyle for a member, not just a workout but an entire mind body experience. read more

I'm currently on the free trial. Having done yoga before was a huge help to ease into the classes. I started with C2 and sculpt and I will not look back! I highly recommend all classes and instructors. All of the staff is friendly from the moment you want in until you leave the location as well. The classes are very hot and humid so mentally prepare yourself for those conditions. I recommend getting a spot early and sitting in the room for 5-10 minutes before class just so your body gets used to the heat rather than jumping right into the class. Awesome classes, instructors, and facility! Check the app for class updates as cancellations/instructors change! :) The only reason I give this location 4 stars (I have not been to any others yet) is the locker room. I would hope they take the reviews into consideration and expand the locker rooms. I would like to take the early classes and get ready for work right there but it's too congested and I always feel like i'm in someone's way. read more

This studio is a wonderfully and professionally managed studio. Everyone is genuinely friendly, courteous and professional. Thank you, Kristine S. ( studio manager) for making it into such a positive experience and environment for me further my practice. read more

I did the one week free trial and spent most of it at this Old Town location. First off, the locker room is cramped and tiny! It's a struggle to get in and out when there are only a few people. It's also not very tidy compared to other CPY locations. However, front desk is friendly and welcoming. As for the classes, it's hit or miss depending on the instructor. I noticed that a lot of them here teach similar sequences, which can get boring and monotonous. All the classes that I've taken at other locations (Lincoln Park and River North) were more challenging and creative. I am certainly not considering paying over $155 per month for a membership, so I was grateful to try CPY for a week while I could. A lot of instructors are fantastic, while others can be robotic and teach the same old sequences. I would recommend trying out other locations, especially since you're likely to find a bigger locker room! read more

I took it advantage of CorePower's complementary week and I have been having so much fun! I took crystals yoga body sculpt class on Saturday on Lincoln Avenue and she rocked it, very strong very fast moving and non/stop, ! Then On St. Germain I took Candace, lovely and very Zen and today I took CATHERINE who was really really upbeat, articulate with form and anatomy, These two classes were Yoga 2 . I teach yoga at a couple places in Chicago but I have to say I love the one hour classes, in and out very organized, a little bit of a box yoga feel because of the chain, but really a nice workout. I would highly recommend. read more

CPY is the best place in the city to do yoga and the old town studio doesn't disappoint! Instructors and knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Kick ass sculpt classes! read more

Large, clean studio. Tons of class times and options to work with your schedule. Everyone is always so welcoming and helpful. Held back from giving 5 stars due to the tight locker room changing area. Just a little cramped trying to change out of the hot yoga clothes before heading back out into the winter weather. read more

Although I don't think it's one of the nicer corepower studios in terms of the facilities, I'm raising my previous rating due to the fact that it is the only cp studio in the city with a functioning spray bottle used to dampen the yoga mats. read more

Favorite of the Core Power locations. This place is clean and everyone is so friendly. Conveniently next to a starbucks so its the perfect early morning workout. read more

I loved Vic! He was an awesome Core Power instructor at the Old Town location. I've been to the CorePower class at the Roscoe, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, and Gold Coast locations, but Vic has been my favorite instructor by far. He was so high energy and hysterical. I just wish he taught the class at other times during the week, because the 5:30pm is hard for me to get to because I'm coming straight from work. read more

There's no secret that I'm a fan of CorePower. I love that they're expanding and opening new locations that make it more accessible to people's work and personal locations/schedules. I don't love that they're also "expanding" their prices...they seem to increase prices on a monthly basis! But that's neither here nor there related to this location. In any case, there's one key thing I love about this location: both of its two studios are large, rectangular, and have mirrors in the front and on the right side. That's huge for me because I think checking alignment is key, and not all of their studios offer rooms with two walls of mirrors. Bonus! However, in the short time this location has been open, there have been multiple occasions in which the bathrooms have not been functioning and/or the whole studio has been flooded. Once we all had to use the men's locker rooms. Just an awkward situation for all involved. Another time when the studio flooded, they had to cancel classes for the rest of the day. Word to the wise: even if you know their schedule by heart, check the app before you go. Another thing just to be aware of is that the women's locker room is quite possibly the worst setup of all their locations. It's impossible to move in and out if anyone is standing in front of a locker. I wish they would have reduced the size of the retail space in favor of expanding the locker rooms. Despite the two issues above, the studios themselves are great and it's in a great location! read more

I love Core Power yoga! All of the instructors are amazing. They are really great about switching up the classes every time. It's nice that there are so many locations to choose from as well. I live half way between two locations. The free classes outside at the history museum are really nice as well. I have the unlimited package and am now loving that I'm addicted to yoga! read more

This new Corepower studio in Old Town is beautiful. I have never been let down by any of the locations, classes, or instructors I have had at Corepower. read more

Love CorePower Old Town! Great variety in classes, exceptional instructors and a daily schedule that meets the needs of anyone. If you're new, consider taking a C1 class, if you're experienced C2 and sculpt are great! Love that I get relaxation, meditation and a great workout in 1 hour! The heat takes some getting used to, I almost didn't come back after my first few classes. Give it some time, you will start to crave it! read more

CorePower Yoga - Old Town - Yoga Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I never practiced yoga before however, due to my sisters recommendation I gave the free week pass a try. The front desk was welcoming and informative and all the instructors made the experience a great one! I decided to go ahead and become a member. I never thought I'd enjoy yoga so much! read more

Corepower provides yoga for relaxation to a full body workout. You can get all your physical needs met here. Very inspiring. The Old Town team is great. The Yoga is definitely more commercialized just an FYI. It depends what you're looking for but all my exercise needs are met here and it's the only membership I feel I need. If I need to de-stress I go to the candlelight class. If I need to sweat and burn some serious fat I go to sculpt. All of the instructors are great and inspirational. read more

Class was canceled two minutes before the class was supposed to start. No one was notified and we were already in the studio The person working apologized and that was it. I paid for parking and got a babysitter for this class. read more

I was so excited when I saw the "Coming Soon" sign for CorePower yoga near my house. It is much more useful for me than the hardware store that was in the building before it. I am still on the free week membership, and I am hooked! Lots of classes at a variety of convenient times. For me it's a 2 minute walk from door to door so the only way it could be easier to me to do a class would be if the instructor came to my living room- offer is out there..... This is my first CorePower experience and I really like the fusion of relaxing yoga, hot yoga and sculpting. The candlelight yoga is a fantastic way to end a day. I like the variety in music that you don't usually find in other yoga classes. Nolan's class had my favorite playlist so far since I have most of the music he played on my own ipod. I also really enjoyed his teaching style. I've learned new poses in every class even though I've been doing yoga for ten plus years. I've been to four classes so far and each teacher has their own unique style, but you can see similarities in the format. This is the first yoga class I liked enough to get out of bed for a 5:45 am class. Yes, I willingly chose to lift weights and do squats in the heat at 5:45 in the morning. What have you done to me, CorePower? Keep it up. read more

Love the classes and instructors are great for all levels which is the most important part, but cleanliness of locker room is really needs to be improved. It doesn't even get cleaned every night. Please do something and you guys would be 5*! read more
