Stopped by in hopes to get into a last minute yoga class on Saturday morning. The staff was friendly and said to wait about 15-20 minutes to ensure I'd have a spot. Luckily a few people dropped out of class and I got right in. I was asked if I needed a mat or anything before heading to class. Mats are available for rent. There was a cute puppy at the front desk too! The studio space is small and can feel cramped between all the folks at lockers, going in and out of classes in two studios, and the very limited seating in the center. It might be helpful to have a little more of a gap between classes to cut down on the crowds during class change. There are 2-3 single restrooms, a small vanity area with hairdryer, Q-tips, and a few changing rooms. I don't believe they have showers. They have locks you may borrow during your class. The class was good, but again felt cramped, even more so because it was a hot yoga class. The heat and in a crowded room can be a lot. Perhaps it was just a popular class time. Not sure if they ever sanitize the yoga blocks. There are wipes, but it's up to the folks using them to wipe. There was no announcement made by the instructor to do so. I'd suggest wiping blocks before you start a class just in case. Bring your own towel. Bring a water bottle as you may refill there. Didn't see any power outlets to charge phones. read more

I've been going to CorePower for years but this specific location is TERRIBLE. Not only is it pretty dirty and unkept inside, but the service is god awful. I arrived 1 MINUTE late for my class the other day and the teacher looked at me through the locked door and walked away. She did not let me in because I was 1 minute late. I find that to be pretty abhorrent considering the price. Another time last month I came and they causally were like "Oh that class got canceled sorry." No email, no notification, just acted like it was completely fine for me to waste my time and show up anyways. Safe to say I will not ever be coming to CorePower again and I highly recommend going to Bode! It's close by this location, way cleaner, friendlier and you can be a few minutes late! read more

The instructor was great and the class was challenging. However, the place is dirty. The floors are extremely sticky and grimy. They should not let people pass the receptionist wearing shoes. It is extremely unsanitary. The studio is also very slimy especially with the heat. I was afraid to put my feet on the floor. read more

When I imagine a yoga studio, I imagine, relaxation, spaciousness, breath, work, and a guided meditation with distinct instruction. Most of the yoga studios I've been to have a two minute allowance, so as to not disturb the practitioners. Did a few classes here, started off, great, and went downhill. Probably won't be back after my incident with Yoko Ono I urge yoga studios to listen to what their instructors sound like. If your voice sounds like nails on the chalkboard with residual whining, you're not equipped to be an instructor. I was too busy trying my meditation, while I was constantly interrupted with the screeching from one of the worst instructors I've ever had, and I see this as a practitioner of yoga for over 20 years Not once has my mat ever slid except in the studio. When I informed the cleaner, she was very lackadaisical about it. Sad how to employees can ruin a good core experience, but after today's session, I'm inclined, never to go back. read more

I was charged full price for several classes that I canceled off the waitlist. It's impossible to get a hold of customer service to reverse these charges or cancel your membership. This is unacceptable. read more

Why does this location have less than stellar reviews? I started Corepower earlier this year and became attached to it, as saw a change in my body vs normal boxing or working out at the gym and Pilates. The location here is awesome, clean, new and big. The front desk and the teachers are fantastic and the classes kick your butt in any way you would like! My favorites are the corepower 2 and sculpt classes. All the teachers have different music playlists and styles, all are great!! Tip, come early like 10 min to get a good spot as classes are popular!!!! Love you corepower! read more

I love corepower yoga because of how great of a workout it is. From the sculpt/barre classes, to the yoga classes, they are all killer. The only thing I do not like is that they overbook the classes like all the time. There are way too many people in a very tight small room and it makes me uncomfortable. I also noticed that inside the rooms where you workout, it smells of sweat and dirty towel/humid smell. The studio itself is maintained pretty clean and they have cute clothes for sale, but I haven't really been back because every class I have gone to there are like 30 people in the class. I only have about a foot between me and another person's mat. read more

I took C1 with Sarah today, and had such a wonderful experience. It ended up being only me in the class, so I essentially got a private coaching! It was a stroke of luck, for sure. She tailored the class to me, took a whole chunk out of the normal pacing of a standard C1 class to work with me on crow pose, which I so appreciated, and corrected some other foundational postures I haven't worked on in a while. She's the best, she really knows her stuff, and is so patient and kind! read more

One of the teachers closed the door to my face in an incredibly spoiled and insulting manner because I was only 1 minute late to class. It is incredibly heart-breaking to be treated in such a manner in a place I've been happily going for 1+ years, apparently it's changed now. It is one thing to not let someone in, another thing to do it in such a disgraceful manner. Will not be going again. read more

Overall, two stars. One for existing, and one for the sake of the people involved, but no more than that -- because it's the epitome of corporate "yoga." It is so completely soulless. Just another multi-national, venture-capital-owned, bottom-line franchise. For more details, I will review each aspect fairly: The place: - Two stars for being pretty clean. The locker area is not very clean, as people walk around with their shoes, while others walk around barefoot -- so the grime gets dragged in to the yoga studios. Bit of a fail. - Biggest fail though: There are no male/female locker rooms, so the only way for people to change is to go into the restrooms. It just adds more hassle to everything, and doubles the time it takes to get in and get out. - Another really annoying detail -- the lockers don't have any hooks. Nothing to hang anything on. Nor are they a convenient shape. Pretty much the only option is for you to throw all your stuff in one pile, and hope the person before you didn't put their shoes in there. - The heat in the studio is ok, but they allow too much opening of the door, and some of it escapes. It is a very mild heat studio, on the whole. - The corporate corner-cutting is full-on -- don't expect kleenex, paper towels, water (refill,) or really anything extra at all. The classes: - Well-structured, invigorating classes. Worth going to. - All the instructors are good, they all have a system and a way about them, but this is their side hustle, not their vocation or calling. They are basically white collar people or wealthy moms moonlighting as exercise instructors. It's not a bad thing -- but it isn't yoga. Which is ok too. But, the hustle is more important than the teaching, and often times as class finishes, the instructor will be already cleaning, mopping, and getting ready to go. Hilarious, if you're not looking for actual yoga lessons. The rest: - I've never seen actual staff there, but everyone I've ever interacted with has been very pleasant and attentive. - Classes are easy to book, and there are plenty of offerings on the schedule. - Mats are ok. In conclusion: If every other class you're interested in is booked, this is not a bad last option. The classes are invigorating enough to get something out of them every time, and the people are pleasant. But there is no heart, no soul, and no care here. It is a cold and careless corporate place, and the lack of hooks in the lockers and locker rooms is hard to forgive. read more

This review is for core power as a business. They have a horrible customer service department. They charged me my monthly membership fee when I had already canceled my membership, which in NY is over 200 dollars. I immediately reached out to customer service, and it has been 2 weeks now and I have not heard back. I have spent over an hour on hold with their one phone number listed online today because when I finally got through to a human with my first call they said they "refunded me," however they did not and what is reflected in my bank is a 0 dollar refund. Their unprofessionalism is absurd. It is not right. read more

You won't understand why this gym has such low reviews until you try to get out of your membership. When you sign up for any kind of membership they have hidden in their terms and conditions that you need to give 30 days notice to cancel your membership. At almost $300 a month, this is ridiculous for multiple reasons. I've never been to a gym that requires 30 days to cancel -- almost always, you just need to wait until your billing cycle is over. I have an injury, and when I called to explain this to them, they basically told me this is their policy, and there's nothing they can do except charge me for the full amount. It is straight up sneaky and dishonest to hide this 30 day policy in their terms and conditions. The studio itself is fine, but their customer service is horrible, their policy is horrible and it's not worth the membership for the price and the inability to cancel your membership without a huge headache. It's also interesting that when I called customer service, they acknowledged this is a frequent concern of members, and yet they haven't made any effort to change the policy since it took effect last year. read more
