I was referred to Dr. Cordoves by my orthodonist. From the start he was very welcoming. He is not your typical dentist, he seems more like a friend. First off, he never makes you wait. Is this not insane? What dentist can you go to without having the minimum 30 minute delay? I believe the longest I've had to wait in his office was 5 minutes! What I also liked about him was that he always told me what he was going to do before he did it. He walked me through every step of the procedure so that I didn't have to wonder what he was doing. Dr. Cordoves is also a perfectionist, which is definitely a good trait to possess as a dentist. He will work away at your teeth until the both of you are satisfied. I also had my teeth whitened with Zoom at his office which was easy and painless. I get compliments on how white my teeth are all the time! The office is such a cool space. Recently renovated, it feels like a very hip dental spa. The state-of-the-art dental chairs are so very comfortable that it would be easy to fall asleep, I would like one for my home. Dr. Cordoves has also installed flat screen tvs on the walls so that you can see what he sees on his computer. Everything in his office is new and modern and very clean! Dr. Cordoves is a gem of a dentist in Manhattan. I actually enjoy going in for my appointments because he is always so upbeat and funny, plus he does amazing work! Doctor Cordoves is great! My husband discovered him a few years ago after finding our former dentist a bit old-fashioned. We've been going to him and recommending him ever since. He and his super friendly staff recently moved to an amazing new space Midtown Manhattan which has a spa-like feel: very modern yet extremely cozy; equipped with state of the art equipment, a flat-screen and the best selection of international music to help you relax. Not only is Dr Cordoves extremely professional, meticulous and thorough, but he is also very gentle, pleasant and makes you feel comfortable. He explains everything he is doing, the tools he is using (mostly of them very high tech) and keeps making sure you are OK. I think he is the first dentist I have not screamed at or bitten! He is frank. He will let you know in advance if the foresees any potential issues without being pushy. I had a few old fillings that needed to be replaced; he told me which ones in order of priority and checked with my insurance to find out how many I could have done at a time. All I had to do was to show up, sit back and relax. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist until I became a patient of Dr Cordoves. I very highly recommend him. read more

The first time I went to see Dr. Gulizio I have to admit that I was somewhat weary: I had tried two other dentists far more expensive and had less than satisfactory results. First thing one notices is how spotless his office is and how modern the equipment and instruments he works with. Right away he put me at ease with his friendly demeanor and a no-nonsense explanation of what the problem was and how he was going to approach the treatment. He did a cap replacement and a filling in one of my teeth as well as an upper denture realignment, which fit so well that I had to apply considerable pressure to remove it (anybody using dental prosthesis knows how loose they can be). Best dental work I ever had. His staff , from his assistants to the secretaries, are top notch. Dr. Gulizio is one of the best dentists I have come across in Manhattan. Just visited Dr. Cordoves for the first time and had a great experience overall. Nice guy with a good staff. Takes his time explaining everything and makes it a very comfortable experience. The office is surprisingly nice and modern given the building it is in. The technology in his office surpasses anything I have seen before in other offices. There are flat screen tv's in the rooms, which i thought would play cable while I got my teeth cleaned, but I only saw them turned on when he showed me close up digital pictures of my teeth. There is also music throughout the office which was a nice touch. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Cordoves. Not sure what the going rate for procedures is, but he might be a little expensive given the gap between what my insurance allowed and what his office charges. read more

Exceptional practice. Dr Gulizio and his staff are wonderful. I am a new pt but was accommodated with an appt in less than 24 hours. Most comprehensive assessment I have ever experienced. Took time to explain his findings and was patient with me. Truthfully never had a dental assessment like this. I was blown away. Very bright guy. I actually found Dr Gulizio on a google search for same day crowns. Modern equipment. Delivered as promised. I had my dental issue addressed in one visit that has historically taken two visits at other practices. I will recommend this practice to family, friends, and colleagues. This is an authentic review. Dr. Gulizio pretty much saved me from being toothless by 40. I'm one of those people that had the worst teeth possible... I was always in pain and always embarrassed - for years - but now I get compliments on them all the time. From the cool, high-tech office to his down to earth way of explaining things (in an honest, much appreciated way) he's what you need if you're in pain, embarrassed or afraid. I've been to dozens of dentists through the years, some good and some not so good, but no one comes close to Dr. Gulizio, in skill and demeanor. Referred by a whip-smart colleague, whose advice is always valued, I recently went to Dr. Cordoves for a cleaning, x-rays, and an exam. I was pleasantly struck by his offices, which are--at least in the septic world of oral practitioners--rather unusual, but in a great way (clean, sleek, bright, etc.). His staff was pleasant, welcoming, and very apparently on-the-ball. Dr. Cordoves is clearly good at what he does, and with the help of his state-of-the-art equipment, most of which I had never seen before, I was out and back at my office with incredibly clean teeth in less time than I had ever imagined. I can't say enough good things about this office. I've been seeing Dr. Gulizio for the past two years and his expertise and good nature has made going to the dentist be, if not a pleasure precisely, at least an appointment that I enjoy rather than try to avoid. My teeth were always problematic, due to a combination of childhood antihistamines and poor adult dentistry, but Dr. G. has made them look amazing. The dentists at Core Smiles and the entire staff are kind and caring, and really take the time to explain everything to you fully. Having been on a prolonged "hiatus" from dental care, I came to Drs Guzilio and Cordoves with a great many issues. Everyone in this office has treated me with kindness and compassion, and despite the incredibly long list of procedures I need to get done, I actually look forward to each of my visits. Dr. Guzilio explained everything to me with great care and he prioritized everything in a way that made complete sense. I'm so glad I've found these guys, and I'll never neglect my teeth again. At the risk of sounding like a broken record ( see my other reviews), I'll just sum up and say that these guys are (still) the best, as far as I'm concerned...my mouth has been a minefield full of every possible dental issue, and I'm grateful I found doctors who are up to the task of walking through it with top-notch technical skills, and expert knowledge. I've been going to Dr. Cordoves ever since I moved to New York 8 or 9 years ago. He is great. At one point I had a filling that I continued to be sensitive to (I have sensitive teeth!) and he redid it 2 times until it didn't bother me anymore. He also did my Invisalign, and the results are terrific. I continue to be impressed by Kellie, who does the regular dental cleaning. I've never met someone at the dentist office who takes your oral health so seriously and is constantly thinking of ways to improve it. She is great. Kudos to the whole team. Dr. Gulizio did a fabulous job on my smile! When I met Dr. Gulizio I was healing from cancer holistically, and he found a way to create a beautiful smile for me without being invasive with overdone implants. He was able yo give me temporary implants where I needed them and offer a treatment plan that was both affordable and lasting. I had a consultation with him late last month. He is a good guy with a charming personality, but the charges are dear too. In fact, much higher than two other nearby dentists I visited for comparison. And his office receptionist/manager has this rather uncomfortably condescending way of talking to people, like she's a Reality Show celebrity from Dr. 91210. If I had money to burn, I'd choose those Star dentists at the 5th Avenue, not him. They charge about the same, but have much larger space and nicer services. read more
