This place is the very definition of a hidden gem. I happened upon it while googling "cool gyms in Utah" a few months ago, hoping to find some sweet Black Friday deals. I had never heard of it before, but the Google reviews got me very excited. There were lots of remarks like "I can never move because I won't find a better gym than this." Now that I've been to The Training Room, I can't go back home to the East Coast unless they let me start a franchise there. For the base membership price (currently $110) you get unlimited access to the gym, which is fully equipped with everything you need for lifting, cardio, CrossFit style drills and so much more. It is so clean and never overcrowded! There are showers stocked with the relevant toiletries, including hair dryer (and diffuser!), cotton swabs, hair ties and bobby pins, etc. There is even towel service, so you don't have to bring your own with you and stuff a wet towel into your gym bag on the way out! In addition to that, the base membership gets you unlimited included childcare! I love that there's no additional fee for that. I'm not usually comfortable taking advantage of childcare anyway, as they are frequently overcrowded with babies, understaffed, and often don't look well cleaned. The childcare here is different. Just like the gym floor, it is never overflowing with people. The girls who work in there are so pleasant and mature. It's easy to see your babies if you want to, as the door is always open and there are even computers at the front desk showing camera footage of what's going on wherever babies are. They even do a "Movement Preschool" with structured activities and take-home crafts where they teach basic manners, colors and the alphabet! The BIGGEST sell for me on this membership is the fact that it comes with free, unlimited access to the on-site Sports Medicine services! You can make an appointment to go in and get a physical, sports massage, physical therapy for injuries, chiropractic adjustments, etc. It's the first gym I've seen to incorporate that and it is an absolute game changer. The fact that they give you access to those services plus everything else for only $110/mo is just bonkers. This is so long, but I could go on and on about this gym. Not only is it the bee's knees, it is also in fact the cat's pajamas. (Do people still say that?) Come join the club! Or don't, because IT IS MY PRECIOUS.

Expect hidden fees upon sign up, and expect more hidden fees upon cancelation (plus a difficult cancelation process.) Make sure to get email verification from VASA that you canceled. Honestly thought the gym was nice, but the billing put a bad taste in my mouth. I probably won't be back. I'd be more likely to come back if they would just be straightforward about billing. In fact, I'd probably be willing to pay more per month if I didn't have to worry about hidden fees. I'll probably go to the local rec center instead. Edit 1: Vasa replied to my review with the following (rebuttal below): "Hi Dallin! Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, we are always looking for ways we can improve. We are sorry that your experience in our club wasn't the best and there was a miscommunication regarding our membership dues and fees. You can view all of our fees here: https://support.vasafitness.com/article?id=230379428&category=Membership§ionTitle=General%20Membership" You're welcome for the feedback, and thanks for the link to the membership dues and fees. It doesn't change the taste in my mouth. You sent me the link AFTER you'd already taken more of my money than I was initially led to believe you would. Here's the deal: it's not that information about your fees isn't accessible before sign-up. It is accessible. The problem is that I would have had to read the fine print to know about it. Reflect on yourself: doesn't that feel like a scam? Would you want to do business with a company whose contract you have to thoroughly read just to make sure that you're not getting duped? Don't get me wrong, it's smart to read contracts that you sign. It's just that high-trust organizations don't hide their fees in contracts that they know their customers won't read. You know that most people won't read the contract, and you also know that most people who sign the contract won't be aware of cancelation fees, 30 day cancelation notice requirements, rate guarantee fees, or other fees beyond the monthly payment. Yet, you charge people those fees anyway. That's what makes you a low-trust organization. To the VASA employee who is responding to my review, I know you're not the one who makes these contractual policies. It's not your fault. But if you have any say in the matter, maybe you should bring it up. It could be a great marketing strategy to advertise VASA as the only gym chain in the US with no hidden fees. VASA could become the most trustworthy gym in the US. If nothing else, it would be a more honest form of business. Best wishes, and good luck. Maybe I'll see you when the policies change. Dallin

However, I feel that the location really needs some attention and upgrades to match the value of what members are paying every month. The facility itself is starting to show wear and tear, the walls are deteriorating, which gives the space a neglected feel. In addition, the equipment is very limited in variety and many of the machines feel outdated. Having a wider range of modern, user-friendly machines would not only improve workouts but also show that the gym is keeping up with members' needs and fitness trends. At the current membership rate, the value just isn't aligned with the quality being offered. To put it into perspective, if I were a potential new member taking a tour for the first time, I would likely assume the membership fee should be closer to $10-15 a month based on the current condition and amenities. I'm sharing this feedback because I genuinely believe this gym has great potential. The privacy and convenience are strong selling points, but without updates and improvements, it's hard to justify the monthly cost. I hope management takes this into consideration, as investing in upgrades would not only improve member satisfaction but also attract more new sign-ups.
