Dr. Mike is hands down the best chiropractor I've ever had! He's attentive, thorough, and explains what he's doing and treats you as an individual, which was my main complaint with other chiropractors. Dr. Mike is an amazing chiropractor! When I first starting going into his office, I had a long list of issues. After only a few months I feel fantastic all the time and am continuing to go in for periodic appointments to make sure I stay that way. I had seen other chiropractors in the past and had mediocre and temporary results. Another chiropractor even told me that a few of my pains were due to aging and gravity - I was only 28 at the time! Anyways, Dr. Mike fixed those issues with my first 2 appointments. He's able to determine what bones aren't tracking correctly almost instantly and has a much different (and much better) approach to correcting it than what I was previously accustomed to. Dr. Sue is extremely knowledgeable about how the body works. He truly cares about his patients' well-being. Not only does he adjust patients, but Dr. Sue also keeps his facility clean. I've seen chiropractors from all backgrounds for years, and I typically get some temporary relief, but I never feel like the intrinsic issue is resolved. After dealing with unresolved hip issues that numerous other chiropractors could not resolve, I went to a chiro several months ago in Pleasanton who, despite his 30 years of chiropractic experience, worsened my condition and left me in unbearable pain for a very long time. I went from doing boot camp, weight training, hiking, pilates, and yoga prior to seeing that chiro, to not being able to walk more than 15 minutes at a time, and with a very pronounced limp. I was really depressed and in chronic pain. I was about to give up on chiropractic care, but finally decided to visit Dr. Mike after hearing him mentioned several times by people who have had very positive results from his treatments. In less than 2 months, my body has made significant progress, especially considering the state I was in for so long. He actually does it all - upper cervical, ART, and traditional chiropractic. His adjustments are VERY gentle, but have a tremendous impact. Unlike the majority of chiropractors I've seen, his approach changes with each visit, based on what he observes going on with my body that day. Although it's evident that he's very knowledgeable and skilled, he's also very intuitive about when to address something and when to leave it alone so that my body can address it. He always tells me what he's doing and why, and provides insight into what might be causing the issue and how I can address it on my own, whether it's through an increased focus on how I move or with specific exercises. He is VERY well-versed in overall movement and how dysfunctional muscles or misalignments are impacting the rest of the body. I'm consistently amazed at what he finds, because he doesn't always focus on the actual area where I'm experiencing discomfort, and yet he still resolves it by tracking down the root cause of it, often in an area I wouldn't typically think would be connected. He also has a very calming disposition, which is really helpful when you're someone like me who is frustrated by chronic, long-term pain and an inability to function the way I used to. When I am in a high-stress hypochondriac panic, he quickly diffuses it and calms me to the point where I understand that I just need to give my body time to heal. That, combined with his effective treatments, alleviates a lot of my anxiety and allows me to focus on the progress I've made. In addition to being a very good chiropractor, he does an amazing job of running his office. It is always organized, clean and well-kept. The waiting room is very comfortable, but I'm never waiting for long, if at all. He will take the time necessary to discuss patients' concerns without making anyone feel rushed, but he also respects his patients' schedules by not leaving anyone waiting for too long. He isn't one of those chiropractors that churns through patients every 5-10 minutes, which I also appreciate. He responds to emails quickly (this is how I first contacted him), and he will respond to texts once you're a patient. He does take insurance and bills them on a timely basis. Dr. Mike is the guy to see if you're experiencing any discomfort, chronic pain, or just need to improve your mobility to enhance athletic performance. He's highly-skilled, gentle, very kind, and obviously cares a lot about his patients. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

I have had chronic lower back pain due to a tear in one of my lumbar discs. I was scheduled to receive injections in my back due to the pain load but after seeing Dr. Mike, I cancelled my surgery. I have been going to Dr Mike for 6 years now and couldn't be happier. I was recommended to have surgery on my ankle 4 years ago and I wanted to try Dr Mike before proceeding with the surgery. He was able to reduce the swelling which allowed me to be more mobile and strengthen the entire area. Needless to say, I did not proceed with the surgery and have not had an issue with it since. Nothing was broken and it was an EXTREMELY bad sprain so I'm speaking in very general terms because we all have different areas of pain or injury. Recently I was going to get an MRI because I thought I damaged my rotator cuff from playing tennis. There was pain at the side and back of my shoulder that was excruciating. Before scheduling the MRI with my doctor, I wanted to go to Dr Mike first At my appointment with Dr Mike I was telling him about my shoulder and he was able to isolate the issue to a muscle in my bicep. This was the exact opposite of where I was feeling the pain. Dr Mike asked if I was willing to go through a bit of a bicep stretch exercise. I absolutely said yes because I was in so much pain. He worked on it for about 15 minutes and some recommendations on how to care for it at home. The pain lessened everyday and by day 5 it was gone. I can't say enough about how gentle, kind and warm Dr Mike is with his patients. He spends the time it takes to listen to what's going on. After an adjustment he has you sit in the most comfortable adjustable chair. After about 15 minutes in the chain he checks to see how the adjustment is working and will take you back if more work needs to be done. I've learned a lot about how my body heals and takes to Dr Mikes adjustments. My mom feels the difference from an adjustment immediately. I'm different in that my body will heal itself over days after the adjustment. The other great part of Dr Mikes practice is you don't have to go every week if it's not necessary. He does not push and recommends what's best for YOU, and sometimes he tells me just to call the next time I'm feeling something and that could be months. Dr Mike has prevented me from having ankle surgery, MRI's and from taking pain meds (which I like to avoid). An that, I'm truly thankful for. I was referred to Dr. Mike by not one but two friends. I am so glad I called. I had been experiencing chronic back and neck pain with two specific spots that seemed "locked up" and restricted my movement. I had visited three other chiropractors and didn't get results. Dr. Mike was able to unlock those spots and the results have lasted. I have seen many many chiros over the years and Dr. Mike is unique in his techniques. He is, generally speaking, a low force type chiropractor - he makes great use of the activator tool, and does minimal "back cracking." He seems to be guided by intuition and also a deep knowledge of the subtle movements of the muscles and how they can tense up and cause pain. He has a sense about what's out of whack with your body and is able to identify and fix it. Whereas most chiropractors have a certain routine for everyone which is over in 3 minutes, he spends a generous amount of time with you and your session is very tailored to what is going on with your body.
