    Churrasco Steak

Came here on a Wednesday night with my husband, and the restaurant looked mostly empty. We were treated with prompt and friendly service. We ordered the churrasco steak to share, and it was delicious! The portion was good too. Excellent place!

Eh just Ok, we were just walking along and picked this restaurant to eat. Seated quickly, we all ordered and waited a bit for our food. We ordered 4 things 2 were good, 2 not so good! Steak bruschetta- not good, dry, barely warm, tough meat Shrimp Pasta- not good, super salty! also the shrimp were like almost bad? soft shells i was scared to eat one in fear of getting sick. Salmon over gnocchi- yummy! the fish tasted great and gnocchi were in a nice creamy sauce Whole fried fish- didn't try but my friend had no complaints

    Lamb

Delicious delicious delicious that's all I can say the ribeyes are an amazing size and the girls love them. Risotto is A1 first class. The lamb was a little overdone but still yummy as was the saon. Rice and beans are out of this world.

Overall: 4 Stars Sometimes pictures don't do justice correctly. With that said, the small bar / restaurant's food and staff were wonderful. Located in the Carolina district and right next to Patio de Flores restaurant is narrow and has limited seating inside. There is a bar maybe with 5 seats and a long bench in the other side where 6 tables are. There is outside seating to people watch if you prefer a less crowded environment. Fortunately we have came around 5 on Sunday at it wasn't busy at all. We were only people in there during our time. The place is narrow and dark and has a small stage where a live band plays. Sadly, the band wasn't scheduled for Sunday. Staff: 4 Stars Our server / bar tender was bilingual, pleasant, professional and friendly. She smiled as I "Hablé español" my way through the meal options. But hey, the dishes that were served were the right dishes I ordered. Haha. Food: we ordered two entres. 4 Stars - Pescado frito / Fried fish The whole red snapper was perfectly fried, topped with a house escaveche and it was served on a bed of Mushroom Risotto as the side. The fish was crunchy, flaky, and steaming hot. NOTE: Red Snapper has a lot of bones so be careful when picking it with a fork. Though the fish was good, the mushroom risotto was the star of the show. It was flavorful with garlic and other herbs, buttery and creamy. It had the mushroom's umami flavor which enhance the flavor profile with an earthy taste. 2. 4 Stars - Shrimp Rissotto Shirmp Rissotto with truffle oil, mushrooms. The shrimp were plump, juicy, tendered and with hint of the Caribbean seasoning. It was good but once again the risotto was the Star. You do not need Salt and Pepper for either dishes! And we love our salt and pepper! Now, I forgot to take a picture of the current menu and the pictures of menus posted on their Yelp review have changed. So go their website for a current listing. However it might change too cuz they were out of certain items when we were there. Enjoys the pics and yes, one of the pictures has the chefs expression on a dish. LOL.

We had our absolute BEST meal at Corchea when visiting PR!!! I wish we would've just eaten here every night. Lol. Didn't even walk inside as it was a gorgeous evening and we ate at on of their covered outdoor tables. The service was super friendly and on top of everything. We went at like 5:30 on a Tuesday evening, so can't speak to the crowds, we had no issue getting a table. We started with the shrimp wontons, and while they may have looked "regular", they were absolutely delicious. I shared the seafood Paella, and it was solid. They were out of lobster, and the flavor wasn't super strong, but it was still very tasty. But what you definitely HAVE to order is that salmon with pesto gnocchi!! OMG, it was some of the best salmon I've ever had, and I eat A LOT of salmon. Cooked to perfection, tender, seasoned well; and the gnocchi was an extraordinary accompaniment!! Great texture and flavor. Can't say enough about this dish! And please end your night with this fudge cheesecake (called something like sundae cheesecake on the menu). Whatever it's called, it was a little slice of heaven and lasted about 10 seconds. Highly recommend

Found it surprising to be so empty on a Friday night. Since the ambiance was nice with good music. Food was delicious I had steak bruschetta, mushroom risotto with lobster. The mushroom risotto is one of the best I have had. My husband had the pesto potatoes which he loved and ordered more. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

Violin and keyboard entertainment on Valentines night!!!!
    Jerry T.

Ubered from Contado to Isla Verde on Valentine's Day because every good food restaurant I checked around San Juan was booked. Called ahead and they put me on the waiting list for almost an hour later around 9pm. At arrival they had a table outside on a beautiful night. Granted outside has a view of a smoke shop with smoking pouring out on one side, a CBD shop on the other, the street and condo towers. At arrival a violin and keyboard player were performing. However an hour before closing they took a break and returned for about 20 minutes before packing up. They were good! Issue: when you ask for water they bring you a fancy bottle of spring water and tell you their tap water is not very good. I ate half my meal before I asked the manager for tap water. Give your patrons a choice, don't force this on your environmentally conscious visitors. Deduct one star for this frustration. Ordered the salmon gnocchi based on numerous great reviews on Yelp. The plate had a nice portion with great tasting gnocchi. The salmon had been done too long so it was hard on the edges and much too salty. Another at my table ordered Ravioli with lobster and this was Excellent... Service started good, although after I declined the overpriced bottled water another person at the table pointed out the server appeared to be ignoring me. When she brought the bill she placed it where I couldn't reach it. Pretty average experience overall... At least I got to eat on Valentine's Day!

We ordered a bottle of Fiano (a wine we really enjoy and was on the menu). They didn't have it. We settled for Chardonnay. It was good. We asked for bread. They didn't have any!!! (What? An Italian restaurant with no bread?) not a great start. Having said all that, the rest for our food was amazing! The arancini and the eggplant were exquisite. I ordered the steak (yeah I know) but it was amazing. The sauce, the potatoes. Just delicious. Our guests had the lasagna and my husband ordered the pizza. They were very satisfied with their meals. The ambiance is quaint. Old Italian. Clean. I would train servers to know what's available and what's not. Prevent from ordering and being disappointed. In addition, if you don't have bread and make pizza, you have bread. You can make it out of pizza dough in a pinch for those who ask. Italian red sauce without bread... it's a big miss. If your equipment is broken, buy the bread. I think they should have given us the dessert based on the misses. Nonetheless, the entrees were very good.

We were staying right in Isla Verde so we parked on IV Drive and just started walking, stopping here and there to glance at menus. So as we walk past this restaurant there was this gentleman outside who was gently trying to coax is to come in side all the while saying "mucho Buena!!"... Which I knew meant something like, really good lol. I loved this guy... He didn't really speak much English but his personality was infectious...I asked for a menu and one of the owners came over with one. We got to talking about why we were in PR and some of the places we've been delivering supplies to and he was so appreciative of what we were doing for his island. Having made new friends, he escorted us into his restaurant and introduced us to the other owner. They made sure that we were well taken care of and treated us like family! The waitress was very attentive and helped make recommendations. My mother and I both decided on the shrimp risotto, with one calamari appetizer to share. First of all, they bring you this hot bread with a dip that tastes of oil and balsamic with herbs... OMG so yummy that I asked for more. The calamari appetizer was delicious and enough for two. Now comes the risotto... This was my first time having risotto, but I watch alot of Chef Gordon Ramsey lol.... But this risotto was Devine. Absolutely loved it! We didn't have dessert but the selections were very tempting. I don't drink wine but they do offer wine as well as beer. I highly highly recommend this place if you are in PR!! Thank you again to the owners for your hospitality. I will be back soon!!! Puerto Rico se levanta!!!!
