I met up with Jesse at Corbett, fair warning there are two buildings; a clearance outlet location and a regular store. I went to the clearance outlet one in error and was redirected to the main one. The store is BUSY in the morning just 1hr into opening. In the sea of place we eventually found each other haha. Observing this place it's very organized. Unlike sportchek that are staffed with students who can share their experience when you shop, you have legit "grownups" who actually do these sports and so they can tell you how to buy, how to use and give you the confidence in your purchase. And this is what you want, I bet your a first time buyer looking for guidance. I really wish I bought my gear here because when I went to sportchek....it was an overwhelming what am supposed to do and frequent glances to google on my phone. Definitely want to properly comb through this store it's a gem. So excited for the snow to come! read more

I bought a pair of skis from Corbett's in 2020 during Covid. Based on my height, weight and experience, they recommended and sold me Völkl Deacon XTD 175cm. I was first able to use the skis on a trip to Lake Tahoe in 2024. I found the skis very hard to ski on. They were way too long given my skill level. I used them a total of four days and ended up selling them on Face Book market place for less than half of what I paid for them. I went to Skiis and Biikes before our Whistler trip in January and they recommended Völkl Peregrine 165cm which worked out great. read more

I went to Corbetts to "look around" on a Friday before the Labour Day long weekend. They were having a great sale with 40% off last years gear. They didn't have great stock of last years boots but Andy got me sat to measure my feet and see what they had that might fit based on what I was looking for. Last years models were nice and all but the new K2 Mindbender boots were exactly what I was looking for...I even got a small discount on them. I had to take advantage of the 40% discount though so I picked up new skis, bindings and poles as well. I went back the next day to pick everything up after installation and bought a jacket as well. In my two trips there in as many days I found the staff to be very friendly and technically knowledgeable. I would recommend to everyone. read more

We purchased a new kids snowboard and binding set from them at a ski swap for our grandchild only to find out that the bindings were too large and inappropriate for a child and hanging off the snowboard. We called them and they were unwilling to correct the fact that the bindings were totally inappropriate for an 80 cm snowboard. We feel that they do not have a retail conscience. read more

There is tons of equipment, accessories and clothing. I saved $300 on boots and then got them custom fitted which was quite involved, punching out the ankle area, trimming the liner and only paid $30. So my wife, son and I just went into Corbett's Ski shop on Speers Road on Oakville. We shopped equally at their clearance centre and the new store shop. As I was checking out of the new ski shop, the tattooed older woman, gets all arrogant with me because one of their staff didn't notify her of the discount I was getting on one of the items. When I mentioned it to her, she attacked me, challenged me to a fight outside as well. I was floored by the ignorance and arrogance of this individual. Totally blew my mind. Never again will I set foot in a store such as this. I spent over $2,000 here this morning to be treated in this regard is absolute appalling. While I was to wait for our skiis to be fitted with bindings, so not to disrupt the well being of the "trailer park lady", I was asked to leave the store until my skis are ready so that the mere sight of me didn't disrupt her any further. read more

I've written a review on google towards the end of Dec. 2018, but it was important for me to do one here as I know many people use this app as well as reference. It is important for me to share my experience with this vendor as to let you guys know what to expect. *And FYI - after my initial review, I still haven't heard a word from Corbetts. Goes to show you how much they value customer service... Here goes... For the record, my 1/5 stars is for the online customer service. I've been to their stores and service is decent. My dissatisfaction is with their online service. Response rate is horrific. I've reached out to other shops and average time in getting back is less than 24 hours. Corbett's, well let's just say that I'm still waiting (been 72 hours now). The worst thing is that I even let them know that I have an immediate need to buy. To make the matter worst, because their the only ones that have what I need, I just simply went ahead ordering them even before receiving reply. That being said, if someone else has what I need, I'd ship the goods back without hesitation. Before online shoppers. If you're expecting prime customer service, this is not the place. read more

I got ALL of my snowboarding gear at Corbetts! I like that they are nice and friendly! I went to Corbetts beginning of 2018 to get my FIRST snowboard with a snowboarder friend. The guy there in the snowboarding department helped me get everything. He gave me a lot of different board options, helped me find my boots and did all the bindings and all that jazz. I felt really comfortable getting my gear there and I had a great snowboarding season last year. This year in January 2019, I decided to splurge on a new ski/snowboarding jacket. The stuff is definitely VERY pricey but it is all worth it. The materials are for sure much better than other sports stores. Perhaps it was a Saturday night and the store was nearly closing, but the lady who helped me find my jacket was VERY nice and again, she gave me a lot of options to go with my snowpants and price range. Tip: check out their stuff online BEFORE you go into the store to see what options you have. That way you don't waste your time there. There's a lot of stuff to look at! Another Tip: If you purchase items online such as jackets or snowpants and they ship it to you but you want to return it to the store for whatever reason, they will charge you for a fee. So it is best to go in person, try it on before purchasing it. I'll definitely be going to Corbetts in the future for any other snowboarding stuff that I need. read more

Unexpectedly superb customer service! I ordered a ski bag online from Ottawa in mid March. Rather than paying to have it shipped, I planned on picking it up weeks later when I knew I was going to Toronto for Easter weekend. Days before my trip, I received a notice that their customer pickup was closed over Easter. I called their 1-800 line expecting the typical lack of service we have all become accustomed to and was blown away by the quality of what I received. The agent (Campbell) explained my options and when I mentioned I was about to purchase something else, explained that the combined products give me free shipping. She then followed up by email that she had combined my orders, eliminated the shipping charge, confirmed my address, and sent me the tracking details. Having used Amazon, who seem to pride themselves on not having any customer service, I am completely impressed that Corbett's not only provides quality products at competitive or better prices, has an excellent web presence that consistently rates skis, and has also instilled a customer quality and retention program into their staff......How rare - well done. You've earned a repeat customer for sure! read more

I took three pairs of skis to be tuned, the young girl said the manufacture no longer accepts responsibility for theses 4 and 5 year old ski bindings! And they would no longer be able to tune them! Vokle skis with marker Bindings, and Dynastar skis. Both bought at Corbetts, both with Corbetts stickers on them. A little man came out and said we don't won't to be sued. I said, wouldn't tune up a 4 year old car, 4 year old appliance. Why not skis! Total SCAM designed to make consumers buy new skis! They made feel like I brought old wooden skis in! Very bad customer experience. Class action lawsuit coming their way. A similar one was made with appliances in Canada and appliance companies not stocking parts. read more

Love this place. I booked a ski boot fitting appointment through their website (highly recommend booking an appointment in advance if you need boots to avoid the lineup outside). Was so lucky to be serviced by Mark- what a wealth of knowledge he provided! I wish I recorded him for all the information he gave me. He analyzed everything about my foot and ankle flexibility. I described the pain points I was having with my previous boots and he instantly knew why and how to move to a boot that would fit my foot better. He fitted me for a Lange; I'm not expert skier but this boot fit my narrow foot so much better than my previous boots. Also got fitted for a custom footbed which I was very excited for, given the pain my feet were in previously. After a handful of different times testing my new boots out on the slopes, my toes kept touching the edge of the inside of the boot, causing pain and numbness. I called Corbett's back and asked if there was anything I could do to prevent it- luckily, Mark picked up the phone and gave me a few pointers that helped the next time I went skiing, in between the 2nd appointment he recommended I make with him. During the second appointment, he really took the time to understand what was going on and listen to the challenges I was having with my boots. After a few adjustments (and some amazing recommendations for my upcoming trip to Whistler), Mark's adjustments made all the different and I'm more comfortable and confident than ever in my new boots! The adjustments also didn't cost me anything extra which was wonderful (especially given the upfront investment I made in the boots). Mark is such a gem; from both a customer service perspective and a knowledge standpoint - he really is an expert in this space and I will return to Corbetts for all my future ski needs because of this service.@Corbetts- do whatever you can to keep Mark- he is without a doubt the best boot fitter I've ever come across (blew Sporting life out of the water) and made my experience 5-star! I would put a -5 Star if available as a choice. Two trips, both experiences the same - never going back. The last visit was the final nail. As a skier for over 30 years, I mentioned the type of boots (x2 myself and daughter) we wanted - Atomic Hawk for wide calf fit. Explained that my daughters foot is a US9.5 mens and I am a US10.5. They had us try 24.5 for my daughter and a 26 for mine. We both advised our toes were crushed in to the front and requested a full size larger as a start. We were told "no you cannot go to a larger size for safety reasons". From the time we started to the time I finally said 'ok we are done and walked out we were constantly spoken to as if I had no idea about skiing or boots the entire time, as if I was a complete fool who knows nothing - I did explain that I had raced many years. After some back and forth and being treated as a complete fool, we walked out to never return and wanted to share the experience so that others maybe able to avoid the same treatment...or better yet, staff understand how to interact with customers. But after two visits to Corbetts and both being treated the same way, I am not sure the 'culture' can change...good luck! Back to my first comment, the initial visit was to buy skis, bindings, boots, pools, helmets for my daughter and I. The treatment was the same - your a fool and know nothing about skis and equipment. In this visit I mentioned I had also a need to share that I had been skiing for several decades and was knowledgeable enough that we were leaving the store. The sales rep adjusted somewhat his tone did his best to be collaborating on what skis and accessories made best sense for our skiing experience and style. When we purchased the equipment he suggested we come back in the Fall to buy boots...we did return, but this time we had enough of the poor customer services, we walked out - on our way out silently one sales person quietly said so no others in the store could hear him "hey try Sport Check the will sell you the wrong equipment to risk your safety"...wow! I also am a professional sales person, and never ever would I drop to the level of communication as was experienced this evening at Corbetts. Buyer Beware - Warning - if you are not 100% knowledgeable about ski equipment and you decide to go to Corbetts, strongly urge you to bring an expert along so that you don't get fleeced. read more

Best snow sports store in Ontario. Installers always do a perfect job. Now mind you, walking blindly into the store, you'll be hit with all the newest styles and prices, however they have fantastic seasonal sales and their online prices have some unbelievable value. We went here for the first time today on opening day for the season ... the store had amazing sales (40% off skis, bindings, boots; 50% off clothing), although the selection was a bit small because they were selling off last seasons gear. There was no shortage of staff, and everyone we spoke to was happy to help us and very knowledgeable! Special shout out to Andy, who sat with us for almost an hour measuring us for boots, selecting the best boots for each of us, and making sure we felt comfortable in them. We bought ski pants, a helmet, and 2 pairs of ski boots, and left having saved almost $700 by attending during the sale. Very pleased, and would return again for future needs :) read more

Corbett's has a HUGE selection of ski and snowboard gear. I guarantee, anything you're looking for, you can find it here. The only problem is, a large selection means you have to spend a lot of time picking through stuff. They do also have a lot of staff on hand to help you, bring clothes to the change room, and help you try on the equipment though. The staff I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable about the products and were all skiers/snowboarders themselves. They had a sale going on this weekend, and while the prices were good, I found that the prices at Meltdown and Sporting Life were better. However, Corbett's actually still had stuff in my size (XS and S), while Meltdown didn't. So I guess it was okay to pay $20 more for my $100 snowboard pants (MSRP $200), considering I would have left empty-handed otherwise. I debated for awhile between a three star and four star rating because of this, so I guess I'll sum it up as: if you are last-minute shopping for something and just want to make one stop, then it's four stars because you're pretty much guaranteed to find it here. If you're looking for a great deal, and you fit nicely into the "average" size spectrum, then it's three stars - check out some other stores first, particularly if you don't live in Oakville. read more

When you order something from them they may ship it in multiple packages yet they will only send you one tracking number. After spending a day on the phone with Fedex Corbetts told me the shipment was broke up into 2 shipments even though I was only given one tracking number. I informed them that they should be giving their customers both tracking numbers for the items they paid for- they gave me nothing but excuses and verbally assulted. I would pay more to shop elsewhere. Absolutely horrible customer service. read more

Don't order from them online. I ordered a pair of Burton mitts from their website on June 23, 2015... It took them until July 6, 2015 to bother sending me an email to tell me that the item I ordered "seems as though it was an inventory error and we do not actually have that mitten available." I needed the mitts for a trip on July 10, 2015. I had ordered the mitts online as it is difficult to find winter gear in store in July. I don't understand why it took them two weeks to figure out that they didn't have what they had sold me. Shopping with Corbetts online is unreliable, order from someone else. read more

I am in America, and only used the online store, but they had the best end of season sales I've ever seen, was able to ship to US FAST and FREE, and Nicole from customer service answered my question within a day! Really the prices I got on equipment did not compare to any other website in America or even Canada. The older gentleman at the cash basically shamed me for not having the newest gear and said he couldn't touch them. Really!?!?!? So let me save you the trip, unless you like getting embarrassed and leaving feeling like a pile of shit. Worst Service ever!! My fiancé broke his bindings in Mont Tremblant during our ski/road trip from NYC to Vermont to QC, and ON. We found this place online and thought we'd stop by on our way back to NYC because they have such a huge selection. Literally didn't get any service from these people because they were understaffed. We were trying desperately to get some help for about twenty five minutes and left frustrated. We were ready to drop $1000+ in this place on skis, bindings, boots but were ignored by the staff. read more

Corbett's needs more competition - hopefully, that would improve service and pricing. Most staff are disinterested and occasionally rude. They don't make eye contact and don't seem to like the customers or their jobs. They don't seem crazy about kids, either, which is probably a good part of Corbett's business. Oh, well, my feeling is that voting with my wallet is the best course of action so will try Sporting Life or Skis and Bikes next time. read more

Staff were very experienced, provided helpful tips and had my daughter sized and set up with skis, bindings, boots, poles and a helmet in no time and then had her skis ready to wear by next day but if in a rush could have had them ready that day! This review is for an online order via the Corbett's website, w/ shipping to Seattle, WA, USA. Thanks to favorable exchange rates from USD to CAD, I decided to order skis through Corbett's. They advertised free US shipping, so why not? I'm thrilled with how quickly they arrived. The skis shipped via FedEx with tracking and were first scanned in Buffalo, NY (which I realized is quite close to Corbett's). I ordered some ski poles online from Corbett's Ski Online. I placed the order a day before the Canada Post strike. I was given confirmation that transaction had been completed but was never given a tracking number. Knowing that there would be delays to follow, I patiently waited for the package to arrive. A couple weeks later I received an email notice from Canada Post that my package had been shipped back to Corbett's as it had not been picked up at the postal office. I had never received a notice from Corbett's that the package had even been shipped, nor had I received notice from Canada Post that the package had arrived. So I called up Corbett's online and talked to the online manager. After calling me a "dude" several times, which I didn't appreciate, he then told me that he was prepared to ship me the poles back when they arrived back at the store, but that I would have to pay for shipping. He told me that I was likely a busy guy and forgot to pick up the poles at the postal office. How can I pick up something that I don't even know had arrived???? He was a complete piece of work to deal with. He told me that if I didn't like the fact that I had to pay for shipping then I should go buy poles elsewhere. The reason why I wanted those poles is because they were last years model (unavailable elsewhere) matching my daughter other equipment, which was important to her. Only after some back and forth phone calls did he finally agree to ship me back the poles free of charge. For me it wasn't about the cost of shipping it was the principle of the situation. He made me feel like everything was my fault, taking no responsibility for their actions, blaming myself and Canada Post for the mix up. So the poles finally shipped out this time via UPS. This experience was no better as the poles got lost and delayed for another week. I contacted, another Chris at Corbett's who is supposedly the owner. He said he would get to the bottom of the situation. He provided me a tracking number. When I finally got the package, the pole guards that I also ordered with the poles had missing hardware. I was blown away. Completely embarrassed by the poor performance of his team, Chris asked me to see if I could find nuts and bolts somewhere to solve the problem. So I did. I spent hours on the phone trying to find my package, arguing with the online manager to get the package. It was a horrible experience. Corbett's does not put the customer first. Chris the owner told me that for all my trouble I went through he would put a package of something together for my daughter to make things up to her and send it out. Not wanting to deal with another situation like last time I checked every night the super mail box down the street to see if the package had arrived. When I followed up with Chris the owner to see if the package had been shipped or if there was a tracking number, he said that they would get to it in the new year when things were less busy. Wow. I was blown away again. Thanks for making me feel so important as a customer Chris, and taking no initiative to make this matter right. You and your team have zero concept of what it takes to provide a customer with an acceptable level of customer satisfaction. I didn't ask for another package to be sent out, you offered to do so in an attempt to win back my loyalty as a customer. When someone says they are going to do something I just expect that's what they are going to do, and not waste my time going to the mailbox to waste my time worry if the package was caught somewhere in shipping. When I texted him on his cell (as this is the level of intimacy that we got to in order to simply get the poles to my house) to tell him how this situation has made me feel as a consumer and a person, he disregarded. Calling him to discuss his response he told me to take my business elsewhere, that he never wanted to hear me from me again, and as Donald Trump would say, "You are Fired!". Again, blown away. I never though buying a pair of ski poles could bring forth so much frustration. I will never buy another thing at Corbett's based over a month an a half of BS I have had to deal with involving Chris and his team. read more

Corbett's is the best local shop in Oakville, and probably the best in all of the GTA. I go here for all of my snowboarding needs unless I can get my gear cheaper in the States or at the snowboard show (Corbett's is actually an exhibitor at the show). The sales people here are really helpful and know their stuff for the most part; however, one girl did try to sell me boots just based on the color scheme without any knowledge on the technical specs of the boot. Beacuse of the volume of people that shop there, it could take a few days to get your board serviced here. I tend to do my own maintenance, but like to take my board to a shop when I'm too lazy to do it myself. Overall, this is a great place for all your shredding needs. read more

Huge disappointment... I purchased a Blue Descente jacket for my son on March 15th at the Barrie, On, store which was closing down that weekend.. My son discovered a small hole on the front when he put it on for school on Monday. Coat was not worn out and hung up. I called the store on Monday night and the lady told me to bring it in. Today I went to the Oakville store (first visit) to see whether I can exchange the coat. The lady manager simply examined the coat, told me that it looked like a cigarette burn and said they will contact the manufacturer. She was quite abrupt and have very little good customer service skills and seemed to be in a big hurry. I know the store was very busy but she looked like she was texting on her phone when I glanced at her on my way out. When asked about the credit, she said that they cannot prove that we did not damaged the coat. I should have said that they cannot guarantee that they did not sell me a defective coat which I am almost 100% sure the store did as my son and I do not smoke. The whole experience was quite awful and upsetting. She did not even stop to listen when I said I drove all the way from Richmond Hill (80 km one way and 1/4 tank of gas) to exchange the product. This is totally unsatisfactory and disgusting that a large store like Corbetts will hide behind a "Final sale policy" if they cannot guarantee the quality of their product. I understand the policy but I am surprised of the calibre of the manager for such an upscale store who does not exercise any discretion in handling customer complaints. I totally believe that great after-sale service (and good products) generate repeat sales in this competitive marketplace. I will learn from my mistake of not checking the product and will not assume that the retailer will sell something with no defect - hence "Buyer Beware". read more
