I'm so grateful that Joyce has her practice here in New Castle. I've been getting regular massages…read moreas part of my "stress-management-therapy" for many years, and have been to LOTS of massage therapists and boutiques (think Massage Envy) in that time. Joyce's practice is truly top-notch. Here is why: 1. Facility: Their office is somewhere between a doctor's office and a spa...very professional, clean, well organized and decorated. The temperature is always 'just right'. I love that it's close to Giant Eagle, as I can run an errand right before/after my appointment. 2. The Staff/therapists: They are great. I had massages from three different therapists before I found 'my' best therapist. All were very good. Cindy is terrific, and I set up a years' worth of standing appointments with her so I was always on her schedule. I love that I'm greeted immediately when I come in; no one puts on snobbish airs. I love that I'm not given a pressure job to buy packages or products. 3. Price & Payment: The rate is just a little bit less than Massage Envy, and the experience as good...well, probably better... They accept major credit cards, which is really convenient. If you are lucky enough to live within spitting-distance of New Castle and you need a massage, I highly recommend Joyce Houck.

The masseuse had their cell on and it kept buzzing and at one point even stopped and texted someone. I will never go back there. Just awful. People out in the main area were so loud it made the whole session miserable. I had to ask for water, every masseuse I have ever been to always gives you water to replace the minerals pushed out of the muscles with water.

What a wonderful new way to relax! I have been reading about Himalayan Salt Therapy for quite…read moresometime and finally got the chance to try it. It was sooooo relaxing I think I could stay in there all day! When you arrive for your appointment they will give you booties to put on over your socks and a hair net for your hair. There are cubbies for your personal belongings and then they take you back. My daughter and I went together so we were in the large group room. It's so relaxing. There are reclining chairs (like beach chairs) and you can sit in them or if you want you can actually sit in the salt. The rooms floor is covered in salt and it's heated. Rhyan actually laid in it for the first part of our session. The room is so peaceful and there is salt pumped in through the air as well. They give you a blanket and bring you two incredibly warm salt stones. Rhyan used hers on her back, I placed on my lower back and one under my neck while I stretched out in the chair. I'm pretty sure within 10 min I was totally zoned out and was able to really just almost feel the tension releasing from my body. After relaxing in the salt for a while Rhyan curled up in a chair and fell asleep. We both agreed afterwards that our sinuses felt much better and we were very relaxed. We plan to make this a weekly thing before her voice lessons just to de stress and open our sinuses and our senses! You can purchase all sorts of salt lamps and goodies in the lobby, too! I picked up some outstanding peppermint lip balm that I highly recommend. It fixed my chapped lips over night!
