It's packed with unique art, cool rocks, gifts, and all kinds of Southwest character, but without the inflated prices you might expect. We liked it so much, we made a point to stop again on the way out, and we still didn't have enough time to fully explore. The staff were friendly, easygoing, and let you browse without any pressure. This is the kind of place you hope to find on a road trip but rarely do. Give yourself extra time...you'll want it.

Monument Valley absolutely lives up to the hype. Towering red sandstone buttes rise from the desert floor, creating one of the most iconic landscapes in the American Southwest. The vast open spaces, dramatic silhouettes, rich Navajo history, and ever-changing light make this a place that's impossible to capture fully in a photo--apparently the rocks know how to work a camera better than I do. It was easy to understand why this incredible landscape has been featured in so many classic Westerns, road trips, and sweeping desert scenes. Every turn looked like a postcard, every angle looked familiar, and every view somehow still felt larger than life. A truly unforgettable stop. Note: There's a fee to get in the park, and then another fee to do the scenic drive. The road was very rough in some places, but so worth the views

The night sky is overwhelmingly gorgeous, and I can't remember lovelier stars than here. If only Van Gogh had visited. As it's the desert, the summer is overwhelmingly hot. The sun will attack you if you don't pay attention! It's Mario Bros 3, and the angry sun is swooping down everywhere. Also, the flies that come with the horses next door visit often, but we kept them at bay with our fan and fly swatters, and the scenery won out over the flies. The horses next door are a separate business but were actually great, and conveniently you can book different rides times right from the camp store. The bathhouses were sparkling, the laundry was conveniently next door. The bathhouse/laundry lighting was clever enough to be visible yet not detract from the stars. The camp store had practical and souvenir goods, and the staff were helpful. What a gorgeous spot. We'd come back again.

The caps on many of the dump pipes are missing or not replaced. But on the other hand, staff is always nice, and they do replace trees that are damaged from wind etc. I haven't checked out the restrooms or showers but I know people do use them. This is a popular campground as it is right in the middle of Monument Valley with great views. Gouldings campground in the area is nicer but this KOA is always on our way right off the highway (163, Forrest Gump Hwy).

He has a great little spot, restrooms and showers are very well maintained. We paid $20 for the night since we required no hookups to power or water other than a place to test our heads. The grounds have been maintained so well over the years. But the most impressive part was the cleanliness of the showers and bathrooms. My wife and daughter said it was very clean as well. During our stay we met the park supervisor Kevin and general manager Dan. Both of them were so pleasant. I could sense the pride they took in their work. They park is very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is so much on the premises. A hotel, pool, gift shop, RV supply spot, restaurant, museum, excellent landscape viewing areas, hiking trails, the list goes on... The scenery is fantastic as you are surrounded by beautiful towering red rocks on all sides. I did a separate review of the restaurant which was unique and deli. If was not so crowded and lacking much outside space at the camp sites would be 5 stars.

My wife said that the laundry room was very clean but was a little pricier than most places we've stayed in the past few years. The indoor pool was nice but a bit chilly, there's an outdoor area to soak up the sun. Be sure you bring plenty of groceries as the local market is a bit pricey. There's a restaurant located not to far away, but, to be truthful the food was as subpar as the service..

The park was relatively quiet other than the truck traffic all day and night. In the daytime, it's cool, but at night the semi-trucks climbing the south bound grade is a bit rough, luckily, I have some mellow music I've been sleeping fine to that helps block the noise. The rates are swell too, a whole week was less than 3 bills, and I left my stuff sitting unlocked with the keys in it while I ventured off every day on my dirt bike. Very nice showers, super clean and only a stone's throw away from my spot. Some dog noise here and there, I'm not a fan of barky dogs, some people might not mind. I'll be back next year
