Back to square one…read more I've been going to Phoenix for close to two months now. Experiencing stiffness in the neck and lower back pain. Part of it is due to Stenosis of the spine. Everyone agrees that exercise in moderation is needed to maintain flexibility. The people who are been working with me at Haily and Jonathan. Haily in particular is excellent. I've been slowly making progress although to be candid not as fast as I would like. My sessions have been offset by a Blue Cross Blue Shield (Blue Advantage) plan. That is till today. I am in the process of switching plans to Cigna Advantage because quite frankly, the Blue Cross plan (Liberty) leave much to be desired and leaves a lot of dental providers frustrated. Today I walked in and gave them I Cigna Advantage card which goes in effect on January 1st. A few minutes later they came back and informed me they do not honor Cigna. Enjoyed my time here but have contacted my primary Doctor to get a service that is in the network. At least Cigna is in the Dental program. My wife has them and loves the coverage. I was good while it lasted.

After this treatment time, I had regained a good deal of my mobility in this shoulder. I also had some pain i n the right shoulder which was helped as well. Unfortunately, the pain did not subside. My doctor gave me a shot in this rt shoulder and it has helped mininally. When the Covid 19 pandemic is over, perhaps I will have to have surgery. When I last saw my doctor he suggested that the arthritis in my neck may be contributing to my pain. When he asked me if I had a preference as to when I would go to get therapy for this problem, I automatically asked for Evan Jones at Select because I fine him knowable and skilled. He also has a good bedside demeanor. Professional but not a stiff neck. His office staff is very friendly, and nice as well.

Next day, trip to the ER in Huntersville for CT Scans and X-rays which fortunately proved to be negative with no breaks or indications of an TIA. The right knee was replaced by Dr. David Holmsley back in 2004 so made an appointment with him for follow up. After multiple additional tests, Dr. Holmsley indicated that repair surgery was not warranted at this time and we would try to address the weakness in the knee with Physical Therapy. I remembered that the was a Physical Therapist in the same building as my Primary Care Physician so I asked about using them. Dr. Holmsley said "perfect" so I made an appointment with them. My first appointment/evaluation was today with Ali B. and she did a work-up based on medical history and my overall physical condition. She worked me through several different types of exercises that I am supposed to do daily to strengthen my legs and lower back to take some of the stress off of the knee. We scheduled in office appointment for the next four weeks. Very efficient and well organized office less that 10 minutes from my house. Got home about an hour ago and while the exercises did not seem that strenuous int he office, the soreness is now setting in. Did I mention I hate physical therapy but it is necessary to resume a more normal lifestyle,

The clinic collected $420 in copays from me for six visits that were denied by my health insurance because Saylor did not obtain the required preauthorization. BCBS explained that when a denial is caused by a provider's administrative error, the patient is not responsible for any charges or copays. My Explanation of Benefits statements confirm that I am responsible for $0 for these visits. Despite this, the clinic kept the money. I spoke with their office manager and explained the situation. She refused to refund the copays because she was adamant the clinic would be paid for those visits. I explained that even though BCBS refused to pay, they would still receive payment from Geico for those visits since it was a personal injury claim. She still refused to refund the copays but said they would be refunded if they received payment from insurance. Later, Saylor Physical Therapy accepted payment in full from Geico for all six denied visits and still did not return my money. They have ignored every voicemail and email I've sent since then. There was also a seventh visit where they took my $70 copay, received payment from BCBS, and then accepted another payment in full from Geico for the same date of service. According to the information I received, they told Geico the visit had not been paid, even though BCBS had already paid the claim months earlier. They kept all three payments. This does not feel like a simple oversight -- it reflects a pattern of billing behavior that no patient should have to deal with. In total, Saylor Physical Therapy owes me $490 that I believe should be refunded, and they have refused to communicate or correct the issue. I have been left with no choice but to turn to the NC Department of Insurance and the NC Attorney General for assistance. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this clinic to anyone seeking honest or professional treatment.
