I'm back with another review. i've been going here consistently over the past few years now and can't say i've ever had a bad experience! Today i went in and i messed up when i asked for what kind of manicure i wanted. when i got there they seemed a bit confused but completely turned around the experience. Not only did they do a fantastic job on my shellac but she apologized many times, we had some amazing conversation and said "We wish all of our customers were like you Leanne". I decided to go for it and just get a full shellac manicure instead of just the polish. Landa knocked it out of the park and took care and precision, She was so sweet, Irene was also chatting with me and was absolutely wonderful too. Shoutout to these ladies! read more

Came here a week ago to get a fill - the woman Sophie I worked with would not listen to me when I told her I wanted to change the shape. They came out a completely different shape than what I went in there with too. The nail techs were not nice. She was clearly in a rush because she was calling people while doing my nails. At the end, she commented on how she doesn't like the matte finish I wanted. Now a week later, the colour is completely chipping off of the nails, and when I called to ask for a fix - I was informed it's possible I'll be charged. I've never had colour chip off - especially only after a week. I will never be going back here, and I recommend you don't either! read more

Came to get acrylic and a pedi done before my bachelorette party They seated me right away for my appointment time and the staff were really nice. The spa is open, clean and has a nice modern atmosphere Reason for the non-5 star is the final product had a few hiccups I didn't cant the name of the lady that did my pedi: She was efficient and kind. However when I went home to look at my nails, the top coat was only partially covering my toe nails. As much as this is petty, it's a sign of being rushed. Don't appreciate that As for my nails. The male tech listened and said straight up "if you don't like something, let me know so we can fix it, I want you to leave happy". This was great! Upon leaving I was happy. But within 2days the nails appeared grown out. Thankfully my trip was almost over (short getaway) so I didn't care too much, but for someone going on a 7day+ trip, it would suck read more

nail broke one day after I got it done And jewels came off two days after I left salon. I have been getting my nails done for 4 years now and have gotten longer nails. Was over priced. Booked appointment days in advance and was scheduled for a acrylic removal, new set and a pedicure. When I arrived they already started working on a fill. I didn't want the older nail tech to re start so I didn't say anything. Once my nails were done I was ready for a pedicure but they didn't know what I talking about. Got acrylics for a pricey option because it had good reviews online, the acrylics began to turn clear at the tips on second day, and nail polish chipping off of the acrylic despite me seeing them using the top coat. This is the beginning of the worst. They did not warn me about pressure of getting long coffin which I haven't done before, and put the acrylic bead right to my cuticles- so when, on the third day of having these expensive nails, I lightly bumped into a friend and the pressure of the acrylic being directly on my cuticles tore my REAL nail off underneath completely to the nail bed. It was hanging literally by the acrylic still stuck to my skin not allowing my to fully take off the fake nail, which was trapping my real broken and bleeding nail underneath. I was VERY cautious with these nails and in only 3 days the french tip polish was faded, the tips turning clear, and I'm currently missing my thumb fingers real nail because of their blatant disregard to the basic safety and rules of filing and placement (there should always be space between the acrylic and cuticle so if the nail breaks, your real nail doesn't come off with it) A lot of money for something that lasts in less than a week but damages for longer than a year. Had to go to the hospital to get the acrylic removed because acetone would soak into the raw skin. read more

Take this as a warning not to go here. When I went to this place, I was extremely excited and had hopeful expectations because I saw their Instagram and was a really big fan of their work. Their nails look awesome! But when I went in, I was extremely disappointed. I explained what I wanted clearly and thought my nail artist (I didn't catch their name) understood. But it took three times for them to attempt to do the checkerboard design I wanted before they passed me off to someone else. The second artist who did my nails was better-- she could actually do the design I wanted, but she didn't make the nails look the same. I also expected her to maybe do something about my ring nail-- I told the first artist I wanted a fire design and showed the picture to the second one as well. But all they did was seal a sticker on, and that was it. When I told the lady at the desk "I can't say I'm happy with this," all that she did was ignore me and smile. The cherry on top of this was that, an hour after leaving, my thumb nail BROKE on the way home. So not only are they dishonest with their customers by not telling them they can't do what they want, but their acrylics and work are extremely faulty as well. Terrible experience overall, and I can certainly say I will never come back to this salon. (Two stars for getting the correct length of my nails and the correct colour. That's it.) read more

*ZERO STARS IF AVAILABLE* I booked a few days in advance for both myself and my sister. I got a seat first, but my sister had to wait an additional half an hour before she got started. The reason I booked ahead was to get nails done at the same time with my sister and not wait for a spot. We didn't just walk-in... we had an appointment for the both of us at the same time. My nail tech was sweet however, didn't really talk much which was okay. What was not cool is the fact that my nail tip LIFTED OFF (acrylic + gel polish, ) from my actual natural nail in the early mornings of DEC 24. I am absolutely outraged that my acrylic even broke. It has not even been a week. I book the appointments for DEC 19. The nail broke DEC 24. I had to use nail glue to glue it back onto my natural nail. I have had acrylics + gel polish that has lasted longer (2+ was) than this WHILE TEACHING FULL TIME IN A SWIMMING POOL. The same nail also has some gel polish chipping which in my opinion is unacceptable. Especially, since it has been LESS THAN A WEEK of having these nails. I was neither in a pool nor did I do anything heavy duty with my nails. I'm not going to drive all the way back to fix my nail. It's a drive for me. I cannot explain how outrage I am. I got these nails as a treat as I haven't done acrylics in forever. My nail tech did not seem to be experienced as when she shaped the acrylic nails with the drill she made them uneven. The nail tech didn't really seem to either be keen or even care on making the shape of my nails uniform at all. I had to keep pointing out which nail had to be more filed and what not. This did not make for a relaxing experience. This kept me on edge for the entirety of the session. I cannot express how dissatisfied and disappointed at my nail tech. I cannot say anything about the Vietnamese ladies who work there (as they did not do my nails), but the lady who was not Vietnamese needs to be trained more or take more nail courses. I will not come back to this nail salon, because of this experience. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. It is a waste of time, money, and effort. The photos posted are after glueing my nail on. I have been a client of Cali's for a few years now, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a **rant** review!! I am very picky when it comes to my nails and Cali at coquitlam nails has never ever let me down. I've never left dissatisfied! She does any type of nail art you like with the best rhinestones and designs to just a simple set! The salon is fair priced! I've been to many many salons as well as taken my esthetician's course myself, so I know a good job when I see one! Cali is the owner and should be acknowledged for coquitlams women in business! I've been here a couple times, and it really depends on what nail tech you get. Today I had a different nail tech. He was very thorough with my nails I was getting a fill, shape and colour change. When he noticed that there was something on the nail after he top coated it. He filed it off and re applied the top coat. I'm really picky with my nails. I really appreciated him telling me about how my previous fill was not good and letting me know that the acrylic underneath was lifted. (It's a long one, so buckle up) This was my 3rd and LAST visit to Coquitlam Nails. I was recommended this place by a friend, and decided to check them out. I had a great experience the first time I went to Coquitlam Nails so I decided that today I would treat myself to a fresh set of nails for my birthday. I made an appointment a few days ago for noon. After over 30 minutes wait, I was finally seated. The first thing I did was show the older woman a reference photo of what I wanted which was an acrylic set with a very bright, rainbow stripe design with glitter stars sprinkled throughout. Fairly straight forward... so I thought... So the woman say oh yes yes, mutters something to the apparent owner, Kallie and then starts doing my nails... There was ZERO work done on my cuticles. She was pretty rough and the filing she was doing was definitely more vigorous than it needed to be... she cut me with the damn electric file thing on 4 fingers and then sprayed alcohol on my bleeding wounds (dramatic, but accurate)... She paints a coat of nude for the base and then walks over to get Kallie to do the "art"... Kallie turns to me and says oh, that's too complicated... we don't have time for that. EVEN THOUGH I MADE AN APPOINTMENT, and I waited over half an hour to even get started... so I say to her "I showed her this design before she even started and she said it was fine" and then Kallie made some excuse about the lady not being able to speak English. So she said that lady could try to do it... so she starts AND IT WAS SO JANKY LOOKING. She stuck a big chrome star fish on my nail... so I stopped her and decided to just get her to paint my nails a solid colour with some rhinestones... This woman decided instead of just painting over the base colour she had done (since the colour I picked was darker...) she filed my nails down again and essentially did a fill on brand new damn nails. It hurt so bad I started crying because she filed my nails down so thin... then she half ass painted my nails with not even the colour I picked out... (but I didn't realize until she was already half way done), threw on some rhinestones and was like k you're done... The undersides of my nails weren't filed down, they are sharp as hell, I even still have dust around & under the nails... she got polish all on my finger and they are so incredibly painful I can barely use my hands... I was charged almost $100 for this shit. The customer service I experienced today was HORRIFIC. I left with incredibly damaged nails that were nowhere near what I asked for. You would think that a nail salon that is seemingly so popular, with a decent instagram account would have more than just the owner be capable of any sort of nail art. I want my money back. This was the biggest disservice I've ever forked over money for. Learn from my suffering... go somewhere that can actually deliver on their services as advertised. read more

I'm never one to complain. Especially since I've been working in customer service for years. Restaurants, stores. Spas... you name it. But this situation left me very frustrated. I try to understand that yes, it's hard times right now with the pandemic. No one wants to work, but we need to pay bills to get by. I feel for everyone working during this time, because I to feel the same way. I got my nails done here and had nothing but great experiences up until recently. The lady who did my nails shaped them out nice, but as you can see from the pics as soon as she started painting them I noticed she kept painting many many layers. And I understand yes it's the colour white and I guess she wanted to make sure it was vibrant. I knew I should have said something right away but I always feel bad for complaining. I would have not complained and wrote this review if they had communicated with me through text. But instead left me on read and didn't say even decide to call back. I even told them I would pay for them to fix the nail polish. Yet no answer. Super disappointed. I really like this place and would travel a bit to get here but after this, never again. read more

What a disappointing experience, I was looking for a new salon and decided to give Coquitlam Nails a try. I should have read the reviews! I went for a manicure and pedicure, the technician was very distance, it was as if she was a slave and had to be there. She asked if I wanted my nails trimmed and I said yes, what a mistake my toenails will be at least 2 months until they are the correct length. Asked again about my fingernails and I said a small trim, well the length is below my actual finger length plus the two hands are different lengths, noticeably enough by just looking at them. I would never go to this salon again and if I could they would get zero stars. read more

I do believe yelp is hiding their good reviews. I just got my nails done here a few days ago and I have no complaints. I'm from Los Angeles and after years of getting my nails done I found one place there that did them perfectly each time. Didn't think I'd find another one here but decided to just give this one a try since it's just a block from me. I got Vina I believe her name was, and she was very gentle and kept making sure every nail was even. They used new files on me and she even sanded down the sides to keep em from being too harsh on the edges of my nails. Had a good experience over all read more

Not only did she immediately get me back in for a redo, she made sure I was 100% happy. I left there with the perfect set of nails, with virtually no extra charge. Very good customer service. This place is terrible. Took them 2.5 hours for a pedicure and gel polish change on my fingers( it wasn't because they were being thorough). It took her 45 minutes just to get my old gel polish off. I wanted to take my mom out to get gel manis and pedis for Mother's Day so I call a week in advance for an appointment together and the lady said that's fine and we confirmed the time and it was all set. So on the day of we get there like 15 mins early so the receptionist sits usdown and we made sure to confirm that it's together and she proceeds to say yes. We pick our colours and after 20 mins the receptionist says that she will take me by myself and we say no it's me and my mom for Mother's Day and I already asked this prior. The receptionist proceeds to say it'll be 15 mins longer wait and we just get up and I called them bullshit as walking out the door... smh so unprofessional like what kind of customer service is this?? People on Yelp are bored A**holes. I have been coming here for a few months, no issues. I use a special gel and it's the best. My nails are healthy and I never leave without being asked if I am happy. Art is always what I ask, with different techs. The owner will bend over backwards for customers yet she is rightful to respect her business! I have observed catty women come here, I assume it's the rude, loud, shades of pink under lights discriminating ones*eyeroll*. Clean, flexible, prices are listed and health is watched for! Booked an appointment a week ago for my mom and I to get a mani and pedi TOGETHER for mothers day. Mind you, I booked a week in advance which I think is a well enough time for them to sort everything out. My mom and I arrive early for our appointment and get told it'll be a 15 minute wait which is fine. Then later 20 minutes past our appointment someone came up and wanted to take me just by myself and I said no it's me and my mom for mothers day and I said this on the phone prior and when we walked in. Then the receptionist said it'll be another 15 minutes more and we just both walked out at that point. I have a huge family and lots of friends and I will strongly advise no one to come to this place. As its VERY unprofessional.. this salon should not be allowed to run a business as they simply don't know what they're doing. read more

I never write any reviews on Yelp but what I experienced at this nail salon triggered me to get an account and tell others how terrible this place this. Horrible customer service! The staff have bad attitude. Especially the manager/owner girl named Kallie. She is extremely cocky and have the "I don't give a F attitude" when you ask her questions or make a request. Their manicure job is the WORST! I've got over 10 years of experience of shellac/hard gel manicure/pedicure done at multiple locations in different countries and this is the WORST place ever. They do such a pathetic job - they won't ask you how you want your nails cut, what kind of shape you want, they just rush through the job! More importantly, they don't even look where they apply the polish/shellac, I got shellac outside my nail, on the skin without cleaning it; so after the UV light treatment, the shellac flips out. ALSO, the way they cut your dead skin is so so lousy; uneven edge everywhere, if I need to run my fingers through a silk scarf, the scarf need to be throw away. Got so fed up with how HORRIBLE AND UNPROFESSIONALLY done with my nails when it was "complete". Fours days after, I had to back since the shellac that went over the nails start flaking out. The Kallie girl used an electric filer to filed the parts out and told me THATS ALL I CAN DO. WTF? After arguing with her and finally got someone else to add another layer of top coat for me - of course this short hair older lady had bad attitude also. Holly cow. These people have really really bad attitude. And this place STINK so much, it smells like cheap polish once you step in, if you want to get poison, go there! read more

Worst nail appointment. Came here with my mom to get our nails done. I needed a fill so I asked the price, she quoted me 40$ - expensive for a fill but whatever. From the moment I walked in they were playing some annoying self-help audio book - kind of rude if you ask me to make people listen to something they have no background context on. I was talking loudly to my mom about how annoying it was and the girl stood up and turned it up. The nail technician that did my nails asked if I wanted them shorter. I said "yes, a bit" and she just goes for it and cuts them way too short. On top of all this when I go to pay the lady tries to charge me $45 saying that because I got two different nail colours (white and pink - REGULAR COLOURS) it's an extra $5. I agree with Vanny V. I paid $ 55.00 for nails extensions and one fell out 2 days later. During my holidays I had to buy nail glue for 3 more so I could keep my nails in place. Ive been getting my nails done for years gel and never needed fake tips and the girls gave me fake tips and then proceeded to clump on the gel there was no method what so ever and my fingers were all cut so bad during the filing and my pinky is infected :). Not worth the $75 i was charged or the time i spent there or the damage that has now been done to my nails. read more

Went in for grad nails with my friend expecting to be pampered. We made it clear we both wanted shellac pedicure and manicure. All they did was a polish change. We were out of there in 20 minutes. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I tried this place as a recommendation from a friend. The 1st time went well for my acrylic fill so i came back once or twice more. The 3rd time I came I thought "why not try out the pedicure? If I could avoid going to 2 separate places and do a 1 stop shop why not?" When I left the shop after my fill and pedi it wasn't until I got home that I noticed there were a few things wrong. On my hands the top coat on my thumb was missing in 1 spot..so weird. Also there was a scratch in the gold chrome (under the top coat) which I actually didn't notice til the following day when I looked closer. And the lady was rough when cutting my cuticles during my pedi. In fact my big toe hurt for weeks after. Also the paint job on my toes was awful. My big toe only half of it is shiny and there was polish on my skin.My 7 year old pointed it out. Also one lady started my pedi then she switched off with someone else. If 1 person starts they should continue with the client start to finish..Wish I caught these things before I left as I live fairly far away which is the only reason I didn't go back to have them fixed. I did msg kallie, the owner and she was apologetic and promised me "a free shellac polish on my next visit". I came again for a fill and at the cashier she charged me full price so I reminded her of the free shellac polish but she said "that was for a pedicure. Next time you do a pedi I'll give you a free shellac polish". I told her I won't be getting a pedicure there again as weeks later my big toe still hurt and pointed out that she never specified in her fb msg that it was only for pedicure. She ignored me and repeated the price. I paid, left no tip. Upon returning home I messaged her on our previous thread to show her she didn't specify. DONT go to Coquitlam nails!!! Got there on time and didn't start my nails till 20 mins later then told me I couldn't get acrylic because my real nails were lifting so they told me to get gel (which is more expensive) then they were removing my old acrylic nails I had before and My nails were in really bad shape and breaking in half I then said I think I should take a break and she ignored me and continued to glue on the new nails. While she was using one of the electric tools she lost control twice which lead to hurting me. She didn't understood the shape I wanted (almond) and She kept filling them down but kept doing the same shape and then so finally she called one of the other girls over who actually spoke English and she did the right shape but only did one nail and got the other lady to continue which still wasn't what I wanted but I just told her it was fine because it had already been 2 hours. In the end I paid 70$ for something completely not what I wanted. Don't recommend lmao read more

Scheduled an eyelash appointment since seeing they did lovely work on their Instagram. Once I arrived, I was greeted and told that the lash tech would be available soon. They were on time, however once I laid down on the table I was kept waiting a good 15 minutes without a word! I wasn't even asked what style I would like my lashes to be. I just had tape applied under my eyes, not even the regular basic pads that are very common with lash extensions-- just plain scotch tape !! After waiting in the dark room by myself for so long, the manager ( I'm assuming) came into the room and said that the tech forgot something from her house and that they both need to go and drive there to go get it and it will be no more than five minutes. I thought it was very, very unlikely that it would actually be 5 minutes but I did say that it was fine. She threw a blanket on me then they both left the room. 2 minutes later I decided that I have had enough as I was paying over $100 for this service and the waiting and unpreparedness was inexcusable. I then took off the tape from under my eyes and just walked out. Texted the same number with who I made the appointment with and only got a response 2 hours later explaining that they were late because "traffic was bad". God only knows how much longer I would've been kept waiting if I actually stayed! read more
