Their copies are about twice the price of Office Max (on west gray) and they charge for computer time even if all you do is print a PDF! I'd say the quality of their prints (laser colors on cardstock) are a little better but not necessarily that much better. I'd like to support a local business instead the neighborhood big box, but I've found the copy staff at Office Max friendly also and I have to say that getting charged for computer time (to print a simple PDF) while paying 2x the price really, really bugs me. read more

The copies came out very nice. However, the staff has a terrible attitude. The lady seemed like she hated her job,the guy asked if he could help me, I said yes, then he stood there blankly for like 2 minutes. Absolutely, terrible customer service. The owner should be reading that the only bad reviews are about customer service, which means it's a consistent issue... other than this- they do good work. I always prefer to support local businesses rather than large corporate conglomerates so I'm glad I found this place. Their slightly industrial look is pretty original and different from what I'm generally used to. I made some copies of a form I was running low on and I think it was a little cheaper than what I pay at Kinkos. Plus, I didn't have to put any credit card inside the terminal or fill a stupid little card with credits. They seem to let you print on the honor system. When I was done I went up to the cashier and just told her how many copies I made. Good thing too because for some reason, five blank pages came out. When I needed to print some business cards, once again, your computers were quick and had the software I needed to do a last-minute info change before we printed them. When a friend needed film scripts duped and bound, you had them ready hours before you promised them, and the bindings held up through the whole shoot. And you never overcharged me - in fact, you are always cheaper than some other copy shops. And you are a local business, which is important to me. Hands down, best print shop I have ever been to. I am in school for graphic design right now. I have to print things constantly for my classes and my portfolio. I have been to so many other print shops that have given me the run around, given me bad quality prints, and just horrible service. You will find the exact opposite here. Copy Dot Com has a really easy flow and process to it. I went in for my first time I bit confused about the lay out, but figured it out quickly. There are 4 computers open for use for really cheap. I think I was on the computer for 5 minutes and only had to pay a dollar? The prints are also really affordable. I got high quality gloss color prints for around .90 cents a piece. The people that work here are also really knowledgeable and nice. I messed up my print and had to drive back up to print it again, the guy said he knew I had already been up there once that day so he wasn't going to charge me to use the computer again. I know that's probably not the regular but it was still awesome. I tell all my other classmates, go here! They are great for students who need to learn how to deal with a printer. read more

I have a crapload of friends who work there so I'm not the most unbiased source, but I want to point out something I didn't know about this local print shop: they have a ton of options if you need to buy wedding and graduation invitations. I didn't notice their portfolio of invitations and announcements until after I had used them to print my own homemade invitations. My invitations turned out great, and that's still the way to go if you're on a budget. But they've got a lot of choices, and I'd put Copy.com on your list before counting on a mail order printer to get your invitations or announcements done right. read more

I've been coming to Copy.com for years and they have never disappointed. I needed a rush business card order and they responded within minutes and I was able to get my order the following day - less than 24 hours. They have very quality paper and they have a book of the papers so you can decide what kind of paper to print on. I do like that the staff does not make assumptions and always ensure the option for the customer to come in and check a proof before mass printing. However, they don't have special order/bundle options which is something I'd really look forward in their business to start so people have money saving options. The quality of the cut was precise and the printing was on point. They are professional, well structured, organized, and I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else for any professional printing needs. I want to emphasize organized because I had an invoice last year that I referenced and wanted to duplicate and they knew exactly what i was talking about. These guys know what they're doing, and they do a great job. I've watched other customers bring in all kinds of jobs, big and small, and from what I can tell, they knock it out time after time. I've had business cards, greeting cards, pamphlets, posters, and now wedding invitations printed here, and the staff has always been helpful and friendly, with a rockstar attitude. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my output. Pro tip: for best results, frankly, avoid Saturday. I've seen them work some miracles--and they've worked more than one for me--but if you can wait at all, the experience is much smoother for all concerned during the normal week, when things are less hectic. But I mention it only because during the week, even when they say 24-48 hours, it's often ready much sooner than that, especially when your art is set-up properly and ready to print. Copy dot com has been my print shop secret weapon for more than seven years. They know how to work with professionals, their output is high-quality, and they can probably do more than you'd think. I reeeeeally like Copy Dot Com and I'm more than satisfied with their quality of work. Their prices are super awesome too, in my opinion. The staff is pretty friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The inside of the shop is spacious and cool looking. So I'm pretty dumb when it comes to printing and things like that. So that brings me to my only complaint which is that I feel just a tad unwelcome whenever I go there. I have questions and usually need help and the staff, while friendly, make me feel like I'm a huge bother. Which in turn, makes me not want to come back. It's not like I'm hanging on them every two seconds. It's just pretty basic questions like which paper is best for what I'm trying to print and so on. All in all, I highly recommend this place! I just wish the staff was a little bit more understanding to the fact that not everyone is a Johannes Gutenburg like them. read more

This place is an absolute godsend. I had the most awkwardly shaped 5x7ish pearlescent wedding envelopes I needed to print 140 of and I knew the last place I would take them would be a kinkos or fedex given they're a nightmare to work with. Upon walking in this local shop there were several PCs AND Macs available, and a specialist worked with me for and hour and a half to get my envelopes reworked perfectly. I just left Copy Dot Com and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I needed 60 copies printed for work (it was an emergency!) and I spotted this place on Westheimer. I walked in and although the staff was busy with other clients, they took the time to at least acknowledge that they saw me. When someone was available to help me, she helped me do what I needed to do in order to send my files to the right printer. She answered all my questions and then I got started. I used the self-serve computer to send my copies to the right printer and the guy who helped me at the printer was very nice and very helpful. While he was helping me a few other employees asked if I had been helped. Good to know that the employees were making sure I didn't get looked over. Good customer service! I have a feeing that Copy Dot Com will be seeing a lot of me over the next few years. I don't have a printer at home and printing school stuff at work is a no-no. I have some "free" prints from the university, but considering the reading list I got, there's no way that's going to last me until midterms. I've used Copy Dot Com a few times. For a plain, old print job, it seems a bit pricey. You pay for the time spent on the internet (really not that much at all, especially if you're prepared and all you have to do is download and print). If you don't want to pay for that, you can just bring a flash drive and plug it in to print to avoid the internet charge. You print, take your ticket over and pay per page. It can get pretty pricey, but you're paying for convenience here. The other project I did required a last minute print job on large paper. I had somehow agreed to do poserboards for an organization I volunteer with and the designs weren't ready until the day before the event. I took everything over on a flash drive to them and I had major issues with reformatting due to different versions of Microsoft. The manager was nice enough to go around to the other computers in the store to find me the same version I had created the document on! That fixed the problem and I was able to print. Unfortunately, my images one two of the posters came out very pixilated, but he let me take a look at it, fix it and re-print without charging me for the crappy ones. I have found the staff to be pretty helpful all around (although somewhat intimidating since they're always working on some kind of awesome art piece in between helping customers) and they've helped me in a pinch more than a few times. When I can't get my prints done at school, this is always my first stop. read more

Long story short - I have high expectations from reprographics and have used Copydotcom in my personal and professional life. They're my go-to folks. I've printed hundreds of pictures and thousands of pages of professional proposals etc. They make complex documents and tab structures a piece of cake. I have come to value and appreciate that; far more superior than other professional options i've used in the past. I have only one qualm; and it is no fault of my own. I printed several pictures and made a less than desirable choice in paper/print selection that didn't bode well for the glass/frame combination. I was getting overwhelmed with getting wedding invitation pieces printed contacting various printing places, but from the very beginning, Heath worked with me all the way to make sure my prints came out the way I wanted. We received help from other staff members as well. Throughout the process, he helped provide suggestions to make sure I can maximize the amount of space I could print on one sheet. He developed proofs to make sure the color came out correctly on paper. I just sent him individual pdfs and he did the rest. Finalized PDFs were submitted Thursday around 10pm via email. Proofs were ready by Friday afternoon. My fiancé went in to OK the proofs Saturday afternoon. It was printed and cut by Monday afternoon, and I am very happy with the results! read more

Nothing bad to say about these guys. They have been one of the few hassle-free (and inexpensive!) experiences in my wedding planning so far. I just picked up the invitations they helped me with today. So, Copy Dot Com was: -Fast - turn around for my proofs took about 24 hours. After okay-ing the proofs, my order of 105 invitations and RSVP cards was ready in less than 24 hours. -Easy on the bank account - they charged me $1+ per invitation less than the cheapest quotes I had received at other copy/printing shops. -Competent - no issues arose when dealing with them. I have used this place before for quick copies. Standard, copy service. However what'll you see in these reviews is a constant theme that truly resonated in my most recent experience. Customer service. I, a customer paying for a service, contacted the store about a quick job that I needed for my wedding. I didn't understand all the charges listed in the quote I received on email and wanted to discuss over the phone. When I called, a man answered and explained - while I didn't truly appreciate his tone at that point (as I'm a customer paying for a service and therefore it is my right to ask questions and I expect that to be answered graciously)... I understood the charges that they outlined to be justifiable after his explanation. I then asked questions about timing for processing the order. To offer some explanation, I explained that the wedding was near and so I just wanted to determine what was my most convenient solution for picking up. Even if not best cost. Keep in mind, this is only about 40 copies that we're speaking of printing. He answered the question, but the tone got harder and more condescending. "If you could only carve out 20 minutes of your time, you could do XYZ" and then he proceeded to essentially comment that I was "cutting it very short" to the prepare for he wedding. The language included "and you're just now getting to this." Printing 40 copies more than 72 hours ahead of an event hardly deserves my utmost prioritization, given over a year of planning an event for much more than 40 people. This is especially true when your business boasts of 24 hour turnarounds. Secondly, it wasn't his place to comment on my production schedule - again considering the city just went through a hurricane and things aren't so timely right now. Overall, his remarks were completely unacceptable and out of place. For one, this is a client-service provider relationship. Second, I wasn't asking for 1000 programs. I was so turned off I decided to go somewhere else and in the future, will think extremely hard before I ask anything else from this business. You can get copies made too many places to sacrifice receiving respect. read more

The Houston store on Westheimer near Montrose is not being honest! when they post online that they are open. They even have open signs visible from the street. But when you go up to the store, they are physically "closed due to Covid". I wasted a trip and I am sure many others have as well. They should be honest and say "only open online". read more

Upon walking in I noticed I was not greeted nor helped, it was my first time here but I decided I would just figure it out After spending a good amount of time at the printing station (still no one came to help me) I figured out how it worked and then went to pay As soon as I walked up to the cashier I was told (by a older lady with white hair) to go somewhere else and then I clarified I was wanting to pay and I was snarkly told "I know, the system was down and we wait our turn here" Shocked at the attitude I asked if I could just leave the exact amount of change and my invoice and I was told I could by another lady I could and then the lady with the white hair chimed in and told me "don't worry, we'll cover the sales tax" with annoyance, I turned around willing to pay and told her it wasn't on the invoice so I wasn't aware there was one as I got waved away and repeatedly told "don't worry, don't worry" with an attitude I did not have a good experience and likely will not come back, printing a document has always been a easy and quick process for me but this was the longest and poorest experience I've had printing read more

They create very high quality prints - I've had everything from my wedding place cards to very large event signs and organizational directories made here and been very pleased with everything. I think it is clear that they take great pride in their work, and offer advice on file quality, etc to ensure good looking results. Additionally, they have incredible customer service. They know what they are doing but a lot of times when you come in here, no one acknowledges you for 5-10 minutes. Very surly, too cool for school employees... but they get the job done, and quick! I've had canvas printed here, business cards, and oversized prints to be framed. I've also had them scan in large items for me. These are all turned around super quickly, but in my opinion, the only person who is ever actually NICE to me about me giving copydotcom my business is Jordan, the guy who works in oversized prints. I went to CopyDotCom because I had heard that the staff is knowledgable. I was told that they are experienced working with graphic designers, and will help the customer with a consultation about the products offered. I had heard that if a print job did not come out as the customer wanted that they would reprint with adjustments made. None of this was the case. The staff was rude and dismissive. They did not give a complete answer about products or services offered. They acted like my business was an inconvenience. The print job I ordered came out with smudges. When I spoke with the manager he indicated he could not offer a refund. When I indicated that staff had been rude, the manager was condescending in his response. In fairness he apologized and the second print job came out much better; nevertheless, overall the experience was just awful and very uncomfortable. Definitely will avoid going here again. read more

He price matched a competitor in the area and was able to provide a turnaround time on a job of 8,000 color and cut copies in less than a couple hours. I came here this morning to print my boarding pass for a flight later today, and to my luck service was absolutely terrible. There were 3 more people in the store, and only one needed assistance, other than me. But the staff were busy chatting with each other, or over the phone. I usually do not need assistance, but for some odd reason the document wouldn't get sent to the printer to print, so I tried as politely as humanly possible to catch a staff member's attention. Instead of helping me out, he lectured me about how I should have used another computer, because they prefer the one I used stays free for those who only want to browse the web. So I listened to him, and used the other pc, which still would not print my paper. I asked him for help, and I told him that I have a flight to catch, but he could not care less. He told me to wait while he calls for someone to help me, and suddenly decided he will cash other customers out, although another staff member was standing there to do just that. I heard him tell his colleague that Im having trouble printing and mocking me. From that point on, I had no patience left in me, I walked to the counter and asked a different staff member for help.
