As you can tell from the numbers, this is the first review I've written. But these guys did a great job.
I recently created my first album of original music (an avocation of mine) and did a lot of shopping around for a good printer. CopyCats interested me because they had the features I was looking for, a very clear website, and excellent Google reviews. I asked for a quote, and a sales rep named Adam replied quickly with a detailed quote that came in about 25 percent cheaper than DiscMakers for exactly the same thing. I decided to take the leap.
Adam also did a good job of keeping in touch with me throughout the process and was clear and helpful about everything.
In my day-job I have been in physical and digital book publishing for the past twenty years, so I've become a major print-quality snob. But I have no prior experience as a graphic artist. I fumbled through doing my own design for the album with an older version of InDesign (CS4), and was nervous about whether my artwork would really look good, since that iteration of InDesign gives you a pixellated version on screen, no matter how large you blow it up. I also had some trouble opening the templates with my old software, so Adam hooked me up with the art department and they solved it quickly (and at no charge). They also looked everything over again before printing (again for free) and reassured me the artwork would not in actuality be pixellated, which was true. Adam's quote was accurate with no surprises, and the discs were printed and delivered bang on time, exactly as promised, at a very low unit cost. And the result is stellar--the CDs sound and look fantastic.
The eight-page booklet they did for me is particularly gorgeous. Rich color, and very crisp print, even down at six-point type. Same with the printing on the CD itself--clear and tight, with excellent color. The audio on the CD sounds incredible. CopyCats nailed it at every step of the process. read more
