Campus is nice but in terrible and sketchy neighborhood. Sketchy people loitering all around the campus. Campus has a no visitation policy for the students which I find absurd. I love Coppin University and got a good education from there about 10 years ago and now I have a very nice job so kudos to this wonderful institution. Some of their staff however could do with some training in good customer service. I went there on Dec 9, 2024 to enquire about my transcripts and the lady at the records department in the Miles Connor Administration building was not pleasant at all. She was young tall, dark skinned with nose rings and when I rang the bell to notify her of my presence, she appeared and just stood behind the glass barrier without saying a word. She just looked at me with an arrogant expression and did not say "Hi, may I help you?" Nothing. She was so arrogant that I had to speak to her first and explain what I needed. Someone needs to train her on how to treat people with courtesy. She definitely has an attitude problem which could taint the image of this wonderful institution that has offered so many students a chance for a better life. Nancy M. (alumnus) read more

Coppin State University is a jewel in West Baltimore. The campus is beautiful, and equipt with lots of technology. It is more of a commuter school although they do have two co-ed dorms on campus. The university has 32 different undergraduate majors. Very strong Allied Health, STEM, and Criminal Justice programs. It's a great place to jump start your professional dream and aspirations. read more

The campus is steadily expanding and changing the landscape of west Baltimore for the better. It's a small university, and thats good because you get small class sizes and more attention from professors. The PEC is one of the best new gyms in the USM. The new buildings have great technology capabilities and they are trying to maintain the older ones as much as possible and bring/keep them updated. The campus is usually quiet unless there is something specific going on. The warm months are fun - everyone outside on the quad having a good time. They added a hammock and seating around Dedmond Hall...that's pretty cool, but I will always prefer Daley lol. read more

Great campus in the heart of West Baltimore, was there visiting for a few days and everyone on campus made you feel welcome.

Its always quiet in the mornings, there are a lot of available machines, the equipment is kept clean, there are ipod docking stations at all machines and there are a variety of machines to choose from. They have televisions to watch if your into that i enjoy listening to music. read more

Coppin has the worse communication and customer service ever. And this summer proved this statement even more true. I signed up for 2 summer classes. Midway through my class, I was contacted by the financial aid office that my funding was going to be taken away because I was not enrolled in any courses. I quickly tired to speak with the Registra's office about this mix up but all they could tell me was that my class were dropped because of no funding!? I tired desperately to speck with a counselor to have this rectified since I did in fact have aid for the summer. The only answer I was able to get was to wait 3-5 business days for someone to reach out to me or I could come to the school to talk in person. Excuse me but I work a full time job, and coppin is 3hours away from me. I don't have the luxury to leave work in the middle of the day and drive a 3 hours to Baltimore!!! I filed 4 tickets in a period of two weeks and was given the same answer, to wait 3-5 days..... In the end I was never reached out to. I was never able to get back into my classes!! I was given a fake number to call by one of the help desk agents and falsely promised that someone would be able to talk to me about the issue. Coppin is very unprofessional and does not have a student first attitude. If your looking to come to Coppin DON'T!!!! It's a waste of time and effort. Honestly just go to Morgan or Towson. read more

Coppin State University is not a bad school. Many people are not aware that they have a high school on their campus. This allows the children to experience the college atmosphere before they begin college. On June 2, 2017 it was one of the greatest days of my life, the high school commencement of my youngest son. I'm so grateful that I do not have to come back to this high school/college campus again. It's been a long four years Yelpers but we made it! read more
