HOWEVER, the professors on this campus are some of the nicest people. they will go above and beyond to get you help or what you need. but, unfortunately, this pro doesn't outway the insane cons.

Imagine visiting a school and falling in love with their simulation lab and telling your mother who…read moreis a nurse practitioner that you are following in her footsteps, and the first step would be applying to NDMU. I applied, I was accepted, and moved to Baltimore from out of state. Not as a freshman coming out of high school, mind you. I secured an apartment and found a job. And it was ALL for nothing. I withdrew from an anatomy course more than twice at my previous school... once because I wasn't committed to it at the time, the others were scheduling conflicts. I passed that class with an A however, and when I went to sign up for my classes, meeting my advisor for the first time, I was informed that I could not be a nursing major not even if I were a straight A student. I could not change my major temporally, I would never be able to graduate from NDMU as a nurse. So ...pick something else. The advisor tried to sell me on the radsci program... a very attractive program... and an absolutely insult to me. The audacity of assuming that I moved out of state to attend a school with the specific intent of becoming a nurse, and that on a whim, because of a mistake that was not my own, I was going to change what I was doing with my life at the suggestion of a person that didn't know anything at all about me . Are these people out of their damn minds. with their "our hands are tied" BS. ...when I make mistakes there are consequences. Or better put, opportunities for growth. Whatever happened to accountability? Were there consequences for the person who failed to notice that I had some inane automatic disqualifier forever barring me to a profession of service? One where my only aim is to promote health and wellness in my community? Your little administrative mistakes cost very real money, more than that, lost time. It was extremely disruptive to my life...and your hands are tied? because of some little rule? that you have just to have? for no good reason? that your own people overlooked...you people should be ashamed of yourselves. totally cool though, got straight A's at Drexel, now moving onto the next chapter of fulfilling the dream that your incompetence would have seen me abandon.
