Good Books in the Woods in a used bookstore in a house in The Woodlands. Watch your step as you explore because several time I stepped off a small step too hard because I was looking around in awe and not watching where I was walking. When I say this is a book maze I'm not joking--but you should definitely go get lost in it. Cheers to the proprietor who was so patient with us every time we needed help finding something. This shop has both new and used books, along with some craft items from local sellers along the front windows. Though the sections for each genre are a little smaller there's a good selection of books to choose from. The shop is bright and airy with places to sit and read in a quiet space if you feel so inclined, and you just may be graced with the bookstore cat Luna's presence if you decide to do so. She was very sweet and made the experience all the better. Just make sure to heed the sign on the front door to not let her outside! I was immediately greeted when I walked in and the man working at the desk made some light conversation when I was checking out. They have a lot of books and they're organized pretty well. The selection didn't have much of a variety as far as what I was looking for (classics and some newer - in the past 5 yrs - titles) but I'm sure it's probably a good selection to others. The pricing matches the name of the store, I suppose. They are priced better than buying a brand new book, but they're not as cheap as buying used books from a second-hand store or a warehouse sale. It's also odd that two of the same used books will go for the exact same price when one has writing in it and the other doesn't. I'd imagine it should be cheaper. Based on some other reviews, for the amount people get for selling their books here, the resale price shouldn't be as high as it is.

When big box book stores came around in the late 90's, they were magnificent but lacked the charm of a smaller more personal book store. Books Abound is a hidden treasure that took me down memory lane and I am so thankful for finding it! The owner, Jeff and his cute dog, Daisy greeted us and we felt like valued guests the moment we walked in, so that was something very different when compared to a lot of the remaining retailers. There were thousands of wonderful pre-owned books organized properly by category and then within the category, by authors. We have to been to some other book stores such as Half Priced Books that didn't care to take the time to have their items neatly presented or have the selection that gave us a chance to revisit our cherished childhood diving into a good book as Books Abound did for us. I found several titles I loved as a young child and young teen so I picked them up as gifts for our friends and their families and I even found an entire collection of the History of the Civil War from Time Life Books that have those beautiful embossed covers which I dreamt of reading and owning but couldn't afford so I had to buy all 28 books of that collection as another gift. I could not have been more happier nor delighted with this wonderful little book store and I highly recommend anyone to visit and if they too, love good, honest to goodness books to enjoy with their families. Tip: please remember to stop by the ATM or get some cash back on a debit card transaction and bring cash as that's how they keep the costs down. Barnes & Noble has always been my number one. Now, there are lots of smaller bookstores, and people crowd them, and I sometimes go there if I'm meeting a friend who doesn't read much. But Mr. Barnes & Noble has my heart, like so many other readers. As you can see, there are rows of books, plenty of room to sit, and you know, this store has a very impressive area for children's books, the Llama Red Pajamas, Creepy Series, etc. This location I'm going to make it my home for reading on the weekends. Not too big. It's the perfect fit size to browse around areas. It has many books options to Choose from. Pick up on the employees, making it help it look clean. The downside is the Starbucks area. The floors were sticky. The tables were a mass trash everywhere. Even more sad news. I can't even reading my points there. I have to use a Barnes and Noble card which is spending more money rather than using points. Even worse the outlets are closed. Due to Covid. But that was years ago. They should've thought about opening it back up for those who need to charge their phone or electronics. The people there are pretty chill. They do not bother at all.
