Half Price Books Humble has renewed my love of reading. I love hardback books and their prices make it possible for me to buy books in hardback. The books are always in pretty good condition. Their staff have been friendly and I've never had to explain to anyone that I'm "Just Looking." Because, honestly, that's why I'm there. Their collection of movies is also great. We've regularly come home with a DVD along with a book or two. I do prefer when they have music playing without lyrics as opposed to sometimes when I'm there and it's a little bit less of a typical bookstore, library-esque atmosphere. That's just my preference. My wife and I nevertheless end up here at least once or twice a month and always enjoy the little treasure that it is.

Curbside pick up at a book store? You better believe it

I've been coming to this specific Half Price for YEARS. (Too many time count) But isn't the whole experience of entering a book store (esp any Half Price) to personally experience the nostalgia. I'm thankful that they are offering curbside pick up but what's Half Price if I can't spend hours sorting thru DVDs, picking through each record or comic to see if I could add anything to my collection. Finding a small nook in the back to experiment with different books before I make a purchase. I will ALWAYS shop here but I feel like the full experience of basically loitering in Half Price has had its day . Note: they are open on the inside for those of you who didn't know.

I'm talking about a Used Books store on steroids! They have some of everything. Even throwback shit like VHS and vinyl records. I don't know if you can find the latest and the greatest here, but there is definitely an interesting selection of unexpected reads and other things. Everything has a super awesome reduced price. But get this: you can sell your used books BACK to this place and get a portion of your money back once you're done! And if there is anything one location doesn't have, the clerk will search the database to see if another location has what you are looking for and they'll get it shipped back to this location or even straight to you! I'm in love. If there were ever a win/win situation, this book store would be it. Let this be your first stop before trying somewhere else.

The folks at the store in Humble are really nice. They bring in the boxes of books for me and go through them pretty quickly. They have even advised when they think the wait will be too long and suggested a better time to return. I appreciate having this as an option for our overflow books at the library book store.

I love this store for unusual gifts at reasonable prices. They have a great buy back program and the kids section is well stocked. They have a great selection of novelty and retri items and notebook/journal/sketchbooks. The best part is that everything is so inexpensive. So if you're on a budget, this is the place for you. I buy VHS for my kids since they ruin DVDs. But since it's a mostly secondhand store the odds they have what you're looking for, book-wise, is 50/50.

I could kill an afternoon doing some mental traveling in this bookstore. Love the location in the Rice Village because of its location short walking distance to a coffee house, restaurant or pub afterwards. I visit the one in Humble when I dont care to drive into the city of Houston. Both have helpful associates to help with finding books when I'm having a difficult time remembering the complete title. This happens more than I like to admit. The one in the Rice Village has more seating available (repurposed church pews) making it easier to dig into a chapter or two of what I've found. I can lose track of time in both locations just the same. Enjoy your mental travels affordably at this bookstore

This shop has both new and used books, along with some craft items from local sellers along the front windows. Though the sections for each genre are a little smaller there's a good selection of books to choose from. The shop is bright and airy with places to sit and read in a quiet space if you feel so inclined, and you just may be graced with the bookstore cat Luna's presence if you decide to do so. She was very sweet and made the experience all the better. Just make sure to heed the sign on the front door to not let her outside! I'm a huge advocate for supporting local bookstores, and I highly recommend you visit this one!

I love going in and seeing their bookstore cat Luna! Luna will ensure you feel welcomed as you peruse the various bookshelves. Many books are used but in good condition and even better pricing! They offer multiple events each month from writing meetups to tarot card readings. Definitely recommend checking their upcoming event calendar if you are wanting to get more involved in reading/writing or the local community. Parking onsite! Child-friendly with an entire playroom area perfect for kids to scroll through potential favorite books. Lots of YA books available. They have a cute section of "Blind date" books (Books that are wrapped so you can be surprised once you get home!) Lots of trinkets and small gifts available for purchase. A great spot for finding a unique book or gift.

When big box book stores came around in the late 90's, they were magnificent but lacked the charm of a smaller more personal book store. Books Abound is a hidden treasure that took me down memory lane and I am so thankful for finding it! The owner, Jeff and his cute dog, Daisy greeted us and we felt like valued guests the moment we walked in, so that was something very different when compared to a lot of the remaining retailers. There were thousands of wonderful pre-owned books organized properly by category and then within the category, by authors. We have to been to some other book stores such as Half Priced Books that didn't care to take the time to have their items neatly presented or have the selection that gave us a chance to revisit our cherished childhood diving into a good book as Books Abound did for us. I found several titles I loved as a young child and young teen so I picked them up as gifts for our friends and their families and I even found an entire collection of the History of the Civil War from Time Life Books that have those beautiful embossed covers which I dreamt of reading and owning but couldn't afford so I had to buy all 28 books of that collection as another gift. I could not have been more happier nor delighted with this wonderful little book store and I highly recommend anyone to visit and if they too, love good, honest to goodness books to enjoy with their families. Tip: please remember to stop by the ATM or get some cash back on a debit card transaction and bring cash as that's how they keep the costs down. A+ first-class experience and a wonderful nostalgic feeling with this outstanding shop.
