Copper Valley Painting was referred to me, so naturally I would have expected a quality professional company. Hugh Ford, the owner, met with me and guaranteed his painters work. He quoted me a fair price to paint an empty home. I told him I needed a custom paint job because I had just totally remodeled this home. Well what a mistake I made choosing Copper Valley and taking Hugh's word for his best painting crew to do a great job. Just to point out a few items. Within the same room on the same wall his painter's used both semi gloss and flat paint (same color). His guys missed many areas along the baseboards and door trim. They missed a portion of the ceiling, but didn't miss the metal frames of the windows ( which were not to be painted). After my move in he promised to bring in a different crew. They were no better. Areas were taped to show where there were mistakes or missed paint. I've reached out to Hugh on several occasions but with no success in speaking with him. So much for his hollow promise of satisfaction guaranteed. With many quality painters in the area, choose wisely. read more

The crew we had came in and prepped prior to painting the following day. They somehow made the paint get all the way to the bases of the landscaping and the edges were cut perfectly. There was care taken to avoid damaging our newly landscaped yard and where another painter had fallen short, they fixed details and painted it property. After they finished and were paid in full, they returned as we had a gate installed and it needed to be touched up. They also made touch-ups to be sure we were completely satisfied with the job. We purchased a home a few years ago that was painted a shade of brown that was so horrific it makes the paint job at Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas look enviable. After two plus years of driving into my garage with my eyes closed to avoid looking at the paint, I had enough. Called Hugh to come see the mess. Our home has synthetic stucco and traditional stucco. Both were repaired by Hugh's guys flawlessly. Minor interior plaster issue was repaired perfectly. Hugh only uses premium paint and you'll also get a good first coat of primer. Needed to have my two story house's exterior painted. Plus with the Arizona sun the stucco was cracked on one side and the wood frame on a side door had seen better days. Hugh provided a fair estimate for the paint and repairs, including the door frame. Had a few other estimates and they all estimated 3-4 days of work. Hugh estimated 3 but in the end it only took 2 days. His crew works hard & fast. All the stucco looks brand new and the door frame looks great too. The paint was perfect. One problem was the trim was done in a different shade and while it looked great my homeowners hadn't approved that. On the walk through I pointed this out to Hugh and he had his crew fix it that day. Hugh even came back the next day after everything was completed to my satisfaction for the payment. Copper Valley Painting painted the exterior of our home a few months ago (I am a little tardy with my review). Their quote was reasonable and competitive. Hugh gave us a price and a date when we signed the contract. They showed up on the date promised without any issues. They said it would take a week and it did. Our house had not been painted for over 15 years and was in poor shape. It required considerable stucco repair before the paint job and they did an awesome job with both. When they were done, we had some touch ups we requested and they came back the next day and did the minor touch ups we requested without any complaints - actually with a smile. Copper Valley Painting painted the exterior of our house approximately two weeks ago. Prior to that, the owner, Hugh came out, inspected our house and gave us a very reasonable bid - lower than most we received. I was impressed with his knowledge and sincerity, and the confidence in the work he promised. Hugh and his painters did not disappoint. They taped, power washed, patched stucco and sprayed. They also painted our back patio deck with the proper paint/stain. Every aspect of their workmanship was as close to a 10 as you could get; and when I asked for something, they did it willingly. And they finished on time! They will soon be painting some interior spaces and re-surfacing/coloring our pool deck (Kool deck). I needed to get my house painted and had received a quote from a company I heard about on the radio. I was a little surprised when they told me they would just drive by and look at the house and send me a quote, but that's what they did. Their quote was much higher than I was expecting. I found Copper Valley painting through Home Advisors. Hugh came to my door and walked around the entire house with me and told me exactly what they would do. I pointed out a dry-walled ceiling over our back porch, which I assumed would need to be replaced, and he said they could make make it look new. He gave me a verbal quote and I asked him to put me on the schedule. His quote was more than $2000 below what the other company had quoted me. He emailed me a contract and we were good to go. Diego and Julio came on the appointed day and got right to work. While one quickly began power washing the house, the other got busy masking windows and patching cracks. Our house is two stories and 3900 square feet. At the end of day one, the trim and accents were done. At the end of day two, the back and one side and half of the other side were all finished. By noon on day three, we had a new house. They were professional and fast. Start to finish, this was a very pleasant experience. They used Dunn-Edwards paint, got it done quickly and professionally, and the price was right in line with what I had hoped it would be. Hugh Ford was great! His company's estimate was the lowest, however their service and quality were top notch! They were extremely careful with taping and protection of the ground/ floor. They pressure washed, prepped, taped, applied two coats of Dunn & Edwards paint and then cleaned up quite well. They were very knowledgeable on the McCormick Ranch HOA color schemes as well. As an out of town owner, I only worked with Hugh remotely. He prepared a bid straight away and scheduled the job. Excellent!!! I was impressed from the initial estimate to the completion, Hugh provided an experienced, honest and very reasonable estimate and outbid three other individuals. Diego and his crew were wonderful and did an amazing job. The total house was completed in a day, including, my side gate which they repaired, coated the metal frame and stained the slats. When I did my final inspection, I was floored that the house had no bleeding through of any of the original paint and they were able to paint the areas of my house that had vines covering the walls. Had one of their guys come out and gives us a quote to paint a loft and hallway and spare bedroom. Gave him my email address and he said he would email us a quote. After about 10 days I sent an email asking for follow up on our quote and still have not received a reply. It's been quite a few weeks. I guess our business isn't needed. read more

Another website sent this contractor my way and the bid process was fine. I e-mailed them a signed contract (their instructions) after getting a bid from Hugh and then all contact from them stopped. Along with that emailed contract I have left a voicemail and tried to call them another time or two but all of that has also gone unanswered. I did call them one day out of curiosity from a different cell number and they picked right up, about 15 minutes after my last attempted call. Do note this contractor uses Acrihues by Dunn Edwards, flat, which is the lowest quality Dunn-Edwards paint any of the contractors I got bids from use (edited for accuracy at the request of the contractor, see below); the voicemail I left them asked for a new bid on a higher end paint but as I said they flat out ignored me. Their original price was above average given the paint they are using compared to other contractors using a similar grade paint and I found 2 contractors using a higher end paint for less than their "$250 off" discounted price. 12-27-17 - Hugh called me at 8:57 am because of this review asking if I would change the review and offered to send me a gift card to "make me happier". When I said I'm not changing the review and that it was an honest review he then threatened legal action against me because I made a "false claim" saying Acrihues is the lowest quality paint Dunn-Edwards offers and he is correct so I changed that portion of the review. read more

It's been 10 months and we are not impressed. I'm STILL finding paint everywhere in the interior. Just this morning I was cleaning under the microwave and there is about 3ft of tape under the cabinet space and a sloppy paint job. The pre-existing color was a shade of blue, so it is obvious. I have scraped so much paint off out furniture. My sons bed, our bed, our wall unit, even our indoor plants. It's plain ridiculous. Our floor boards look like complete garbage. It truly looks like a child did it. The grout is a disaster throughout the perimeter of the downstairs. I literally find tape every month. The staff lacked basic customer service skills. We communicated thoroughly and were met with excuses. I requested a walk-through and the floor boards be cleaned up at 9am (when both my husband and I would be home) the following day. The painters arrived at 830, cleaned one area about 15 ft, and left. We called Hugh ad he assured us he would do a walkthrough himself and clean the mess. He never did. Its is absolutely not my job to micromanage people you are paying to do a service, and yet that was the theme throughout the experience. The paint is peeling everywhere. It is complete garbage. I spend a day a month doing touch ups. It's literally peels off like rubber, exposing the pre-existing color. The interior looks amateurish. We had the exterior done as well and it looks great. However, there is paint splatter all along the path way. Nearly a year later and I'm STILL finishing their job. I cannot reccomend this company. read more

He used quality Dunn Edwards paint- just like the higher priced companies. His team had the job done in 2 days, as promised. The crew left the house as clean as they found it. Hugh runs a customer service orientated business with reasonable prices. My finished home looks better than the house down the street who paid almost double what Hugh charged. You aren't going to see a ton of advertisements or flashy website from Copper Valley- that's why he doesn't have to charge over the top prices. Hugh is a hands-on manager who knows how to run a business. Excellent communication. Very quick and simple quote process- I had others come out and spend 45 minutes measuring and writing quotes. Crew showed up when they promised, even finished 2 days early. Cleaned up afterwards. Have had my house painted 4 times over the years, this one looks the best with good quality paint giving off a nice sparkle. I have to mention Joe, he did a fantastic job replacing the rotted framing on my side garage door which wasn't planned for but pleased to pay a bit extra for that craftsmanship. I was very impressed with the owner, Hugh when he came out to give us an estimate for the exterior of our home. The contract was emailed the next day. We had to wait about 6 weeks for an appointment which was not ideal because we have our home up for sale but we were impressed enough to wait. I specifically asked Hugh if he needed me to contact the HOA for the colors he said no, that he would take care of the color match. Well . . . . the main part of the house and trim colors are fine but a faux stone pillar and ledge and our front and back doors were another issue. The painters also gouged our coated sidewalk along the side of the house where they were staging all of their equipment. They also painted just about everything - electrical outlets, light sockets, landscape box, cable box, electrical panel box, and our entire hose bib including our realtors lockbox!!!! I was told that they do that because that is what people want. They rinsed their equipment and threw the dirty water into our rock yard leaving several messes in the landscape. I did do a "walk through" with the painter but they had run day behind on the job and I was in a rush to leave for an appointment. I did tell them that the pillar and shelf were all wrong and needed them redone (for the 3rd time!) and the doors weren't even pointed out or shown to me so I didn't notice in my rush that they were almost a Christmas green instead of a deep mossy green. My husband went to the HOA and got the color scheme and they did repaint the doors. My husband has replaced most of the electrical outlet boxes. When the painters came back to repaint the doors and recoat the sidewalk they were rude and very unfriendly. We would recommend them because Hugh did address our issues and made things good. Just be sure to give them the colors if required by your HOA and tell them if you do not want items such as electrical outlet boxes, landscape box, etc. painted. read more
