I made my reservations over the phone and Laurie and Jim were so helpful and kind. I can't wait for my trip.

Copper Mountain - We out here!

    Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is easily my favorite mountain. (At least at the time of writing this review) This…read moremountain is a special place for me. I became an expert on this mountain and found new meanings to my love of snowboarding on some great solo days. Great time for anyone of all skill levels, though there is more expert terrain than beginner. Run recomendations: Andy's Encore is the perfect run for anyone at the blue level and even those working up to it. It's a great place to practice new tricks and techniques, and on days where it isn't too busy, the perfect run for catching some solid speed on a controlled and groomed section of the mountain. There is plenty of fun to be had at the Resolution Bowl for those comfortable with more challenging terrain. Stay safe, have fun, and shred on!

I flew out here for my brothers birthday and snowboarding was number one on his list. I had a party…read more4 and we purchased our tickets atleast 2 months ago. 2 premium tickets and 2 basic tickets. We get all dressed in the gear (the snowboard and the boots and all). We walk up to the gandalas and ask where Green acres is and they say "green acres is closed, the only mountain open was the super tall main one for experienced ppl only. Our card wouldn't even get us a ride on the gandalas and back down. So I went back inside to ask the girl that gave us our snowboard gear if this was the case that the basic slopes were closed? And she replied "yeah unfortunately that is true" I then ask "okay so what are we supposed to do then?" She looks at me and slowly shrugs her shoulders and tells me "idk" ..............................what exactly do you mean you don't know what I'm supposed to do?..... It was then that Miguel at the other counter interjects and says "I can help you with a refund if you don't take the gear up" (he wasn't there originally when the two girls at the counter helped us get our snowboard gear) My thing is yeah obviously I'm getting a refund if I'm not even able to do what the ticket was purchased for? Like DUH you're giving me a refund! That's what the girl at the counter with the bandaid on her chin should've offered in the first place...a solution...a refund. Also these tickets were purchased almost 2 months ago, why allow the ticket purchases if those specific slopes are going to be closed? Let alone no email communications stating as such, no signs up saying anything. Not only that you have to scan your pass to get your boots, they scan it again to get the snowboard and helmet. If you knew the slopes that my ticket was for was closed at the time of you scanning to give me my gear, why wouldn't you say anything? Mind you I flew here from out of town. I think that's so rude and I will never be back here. I hate when ppl in customer service are incompetent and ignorant. We went around to the front and dealt with Julia, she was nice and offered a refund no problem. She then added a trip for us to ride the gandala up.

I was in Breck for a work trip and had the option to choose one of several activities, and I picked…read morethe snowcat ride because I had never been on one before and wanted to try something new. Our group ran a little late and I ended up being the only person who showed up, and the staff could not have been more patient or accommodating about it. I was fortunate enough to get what essentially felt like a private ride, which made the whole experience feel very personal. They give you a walkie talkie so they can share updates and explain what you're looking at along the way, which I really appreciated because it made the ride feel intentional and educational rather than just scenic transportation. The snowcat itself is super comfortable and cozy. There are seat belts, thick blankets in the seating area, and the heat kicks on so you are warm the whole time. The cabin has large glass panels on all sides, so you can see the forest, the mountains, and the groomed trails without being exposed to the cold. The ride is very gentle and smooth, and they move at a reasonable pace while being thoughtful about cross country skiers on the trail, stopping when needed to let people pass. I found myself completely mesmerized watching the grooming attachment in front reshape the snow and lay down those perfectly clean parallel ski tracks. We stopped at a historic cabin that had been relocated and rebuilt years ago, and it was cozy inside with a guest book and bits of history to read. I ended up wanting to get back into the snowcat fairly quickly because it was so warm and comfortable in there, and the views from inside were amazing. It was quiet, beautiful, and surprisingly peaceful, and I came away with some great photos on my film camera and a super memorable first snowcat experience.

Most people come to Breckenridge in the winter to hit the slope. But if you're afraid of downhill…read moreactivities like me, you'll find great alternatives at the Nordic Center! A day pass is $30, which is a little pricey but ultimately worth it. You can rent snowshoes or Nordic skis for a similar price. My friends and I came here for snowshoeing and had a great time! They have a map which clearly marks the skiing and snowshoeing trails along with their level of difficulty. We did the willow (easy) snowshoeing trail which took about 40 minutes and offered beautiful views, a route under the gondolas and being in the trees with lots of cute squirrels. We left for breakfast and ended up taking the snowshoes on a different trail in town before returning them. The Nordic center is a great place to access fun winter activities in Breckenridge and worth checking out if you're in town!

Be aware that the hotel front desk will not assist anyone staying through VRBO and every interaction with Hunter was extremely unpleasant. He was consistently rude and unhelpful. When we asked about parking availability in town, we were given the incorrect information. We ultimately had to find parking on our own and it was significantly closer than what the hotel recommended. When our unit owner contacted the front desk to ask for assistance retrieving our key from the locker, Hunter appeared visibly annoyed he had to help. Additionally, when we asked the front desk to provide a key that we gave to him to our adult children upon their arrival, he refused. The hotel feels dated and tired and the food was inedible. The hot tub was not very hot. While many of these issues might have been overlooked given the great location, the consistently rude and unprofessional from desk made the stay far less enjoyable.

My wife got here at check-in and I had forgotten to put her in reservation. At any other hotel this is easily resolvable, especially hotels that are at this price point. Sean, the manager, made my wife incredibly uncomfortable by being aggressive and dismissive. She called me ans asked if eh would talk to me, he aggressively said "what's his phone miner? Don't ask him!" He then said that she doesn't even have my last name... mind you that's not always the case Sean! My wife had our two toddlers after a long car ride and just needed some compassion and a bit of instruction on how to fix the situation but was instead met with hostility. I showed up around 7pm and Sean immediately became shaking upset when I tried to jsut describe how he could have jsut told my wife or me (on the phone) to call a number and add her. He checked me in and gave me a key, no holder with room number, had to ask, no parking instructions (only one spot), no map of property, no WiFi code... no apology without BS excuses. I regularly get better service at a Courtyard Marriott. If you are looking for somewhere great to stay I reccomend you go to the Grand Colorado or anywhere else in town. Learn to be nicer Sean it goes a long way. Max shouldn't have to apologize for you. Max, you rock!

She also suggested that we pick up a local paper that they had because there were a lot of dining deals advertised since it's the off season. Overall our room was nice. We had a balcony with a great view. There are DVD players in the room and the front desk has some movies you can borrow. We cooked dinner at night and there were enough supplies including salt and pepper to do that. However, the wine bottle openers were broken. We also had issues turning on the fireplace. Maintenance came and gave us a work around without using the timer, but it required touching the hot bottom of the fireplace. The woman working the front desk at night was very helpful and they have a shuttle you can use to get downtown. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for it. The common areas are very nice with fire pits, a pool table, hot tubs, fitness center, and steam shower. The water jug in the fitness center was frozen to the dispenser so no water would come out. You're able to use the amenities at One Ski Hill, so we went bowling. It does require reservations which we didn't know, so plan ahead. Overall, a good place to stay for the price.
