Copper State Adjusting was tenacious in their interactions with my home insurance company.
We sustained hail damage in October and November 2025. Copper State inspected and thoroughly documented the damage and submitted the claims.
The insurance company inspected on both dates: same response of "no hail damage" resulted.
Undeterred, CSA appealed for a THIRD inspection. This time the insurance company sent TWO adjusters (tag team). NOW, they admitted there was some hail damage but was less than my deductible!
Pressing on, CSA continued presenting additional facts and documentation supporting the claim. (Did I mention tenacious?)
Finally, the claim was approved to replace the roof shingles (and other misc. stuff) only.
We had the roof done June 2026. I paid out-of-pocket for the roof decking and insurance paid for the rest. (i need a roof.) However, it gets better...
At the beginning of the process, CSA explained to the insurance company that the house roof deck was not 2026 code-compliant (was too thin having been built in 1964). As the policy had O/L coverage (Ordinance or Law), AND the non-compliance was revealed by covered claim, the insurance company should cover the cost to bring the deck to compliance. Insurance company again said "NOPE!". MORE back and forth ensued.
(I even got a letter, from the City, that the deck must be replaced.)
August 2026, the insurance finally approved (and paid for) the decking!
If there were 6 stars, I would bestow them. read more
