After being disappointed for a moment, we, there were four of us, decided to stop at a brewery down the street. Luckily enough, this brewery just happened to be Bootstrap. As you can see from my 5 star rating, I really liked Bootstrap. Visiting at that specific time seemed meant to be because while sitting outside at their outdoor patio, we saw a beautiful double rainbow !! Some of the things that I liked about Bootstrap was the friendly staff!! They were very welcoming and gave us tips about where to go in Colorado. Also, there brewery was large with plenty of tables and a stage for live music, open mic nights and karaoke. And of course their beer was delicious with a wide selection to suit everyone's tastes.

Then more time passed and they closed the Niwot when and now only the Longmont location remains. Recently I had a beer from Bootstrap. It was the Chillax, a Pineapple Golden Ale. I thought it was alright but I'm not necessarily convinced I'm wildly in love with Pineapple beers. Just a little too sweet but I wanted to challenge myself on this occasion and I thought it was just fair. But as I said I have been to Bootstrap before... a few times actually and I have a lot more enthusiasm for their chile beer or their cherry ginger beer. So if you can get a hold of those definitely do. They are older beer releases and at the time I didn't see them but I'd definitely keep your eyes out for those!

Crooked Beech was one of those breweries that I hadn't tried yet. I had the Gratitude, an American Light Lager which was okay but not all that memorable unfortunately. Flavor highlights to look for with this beer are watery, hoppy, yeasty and juicy. But to be honest I mostly detected the watery aspect and the yeasty aspect and had a hard time picking up the other characteristics. The beer is also very light bodied so if you do enjoy this beer then it's not too much of a stretch to have another. Excuse on the blurry picture. I took the shot without double checking as there were a lot of breweries to try out this particular day I paid a visit to Crooked Beech.

The atmosphere here is really a lot of fun with with all of the wooden wall clocks on the walls. The beer I enjoyed as well. I got the Family Farm Helles and liked the breadiness and honey flavors from the beer. I really like encountering those flavor features, especially the breadiness and if it's done just right the honey is really good too. And in this case with this Helles Lager it was made very well with good balance overall. Definitely a fun place to go as all those clocks took me down memory lane as both sets of grandparents had these delightful clocks.

"Darkness Cellar Reserve" is fantastic, and well worth the extra dollar. Both are STRONG beers and strongly suggest you limit yourself to no more than 2. Ask me how I know! We haven't tried all their stouts yet, so I am not recommending the Darknesses above any others - yet. They don't serve food here, but their neighbors do, and it's pretty cool. You can scan a QR code on your table and order food delivered. The cool part is, they know exactly which table to bring it to - the QR code is that specific. Nice use of tech!

Rule105 Brewing was a brewery in Greeley that I went to in the not too distant past. I got a…read morevariety of different beers here and by the time the beer experience with this brewery was finished Steve and I tried about five different beers of theirs and it gave us a really good idea what kind of quality to expect from this particular brewery. The first beer that I had was the Honey Helles. I do love Helles Lagers and I do especially like it when honey is an ingredient for beer. This was a good example of balancing that beer style and having the presence of honey in the flavor profile. Other things for your taste buds to look for is grainy and earthiness upon your tongue. Definitely a nice beer for the summer but in my case any season is good to have this one. After that we had the Chill Pill Bavarian Style Pilsner. Another good and solid beer from this brewery. Flavor features with this pilsner is saltiness and breadiness. Tasting the bready was an extra plus as we do love a beer that has breadiness at work for flavors. Moving on from that we had the Perfect Patio Porter. Once again... a very solidly made beer that was very good. Flavors to look for on this porter is coffee, vanilla, chocolate and a very nice mellowness to this dark beer. We drifted to red ales after the porter and got the Red Fox Irish Red Ale. This had very pleasant notes of caramel, maltiness , sweet and clean aftertaste to this very well balanced beer. Our final one was one that was still good but felt like it was our least favorite and that was the Fattyboogler, a Scottish Ale with maltiness, sweet and clean flavor features and a smooth body. I am very picky with Scottish Ales so that is part of what was at play here but also it just wasn't one of their beers that hit us on the same level as the others but only by a slim margin. Greeley is really getting a nice brewery scene these days and Rule105 Brewing is a stop that should be made to see what craft beers the city has to offer if you are out and about checking out breweries and doing a tour of them.
