There was only one staff member, so there was a bit of a wait; she could have communicated better, as patrons were confused on whether to pay first, or to pay afterwards, as some parties were allowed to sit and enjoy their items first, and some parties were snapped at to pay up first - just weird and uncomfortable, and not sure what criteria was being used for this. It had a bold, rich profile but was incredibly smooth--easily one of the more memorable cups I've had in Brooklyn. The space itself is bright and welcoming, and the staff were warm and attentive. You can tell the owners (Evan and his wife) really care about what they're doing. If you're into thoughtfully crafted coffee, Montemug should definitely be on your list. I'll be back soon.
