I love this brewery. The beers are all fantastic and very unique. They come out with new beers often. The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant. The staff is great. They have all been attentive and have great personalities :) There are also normally some great food options with the food trucks. There is a convenient place for locking up bicycles, and parking is easily available. Not too far from the house which is a positive, parking is available out front, on the street and on the side of the building. Why is parking important to me? I detest going to places, like in downtown where you either need to pay for parking or walk a few blocks due to the crowded situation. With that said, located in a quiet semi industrial neighborhood, sitting outside in the warmer weather is a bonus as inside, it can get jammed during busy times. I like the brews here but wish there were more choices to my liking. I enjoy their Hellas and IPA and that's about it. Sometimes their seasonal brews hit the spot but I usually prefer a good Pilsener and German/Czech style beers but that's not their specialty here. The food trucks are a big plus and their offerings are usually tasty. Nice place to have a brew or two. read more

We had a great time at the Anniversary party on Thursday night where they released the Golden Strong. The Golden Strong was quite good. I tried a couple of their other beers and wasn't particularly impressed, so I stuck with the GS. This place should definitely stick to acoustic entertainment. The poor performer in the corner had multiple sound equipment issues, some of which drove half our table to leave the brewery. It's a small place, no need for the mic & amps. Keep it simple and people will stay. I love that a ton of restaurants on Grub Hub will deliver here. The dumpling truck in the back was ok, but it was nice to have the option to order Indian & Pizza. This place is kind of the middle of nowhere for me. Traffic getting here after work is a biotch. I don't know that I'll be back, but we did have a good time when we were there. read more

I had the following sampler: - Basil Blond (refreshing with a hint of basil!) - Spiced Up Cranberry (strawberries, cran's and jalapeños!) good, but warm? - Rum Barrel Pumpkin Porter (Smooooooth) - Mexican Chipotle Stout (there's a reason this one has won all the awards!) Well Copper Kettle, you're getting de-starred. I used to really like your beer and your service, but no more. Over the last year most of the beers have moved from experimental to hoppy, and the staff has definitely gone downhill. Gone are the days of staff taking care of the tables inside and out, and now a long line forms at the bar just to get a beer from a grumpy bartender. The employees aren't as friendly, and the beer isn't as good as it used to be, and over half the menu is now IPAs or pale ales. Sorry Copper Kettle, but I know a lot of breweries where I can get a better, more fun and experimental beer, and a staff that's personable and attentive. You've lost my business. read more

I showed up as they opened for business on a Friday. The staff was friendly and immediately shared a new release beer (basil cherry blonde), which is quite tasty. Their beers are good and the vibe is enjoyable. There are a couple of TVs for sporting events, which I feel is a plus in a brewery. My only disappointment was that they were out of the IPA, but that forced me to go beyond my norm and try other styles. read more

My sister and I stopped here in September on our way to a wedding up in the mountains but we needed a beer and some food after a long flight. The bartender Jake was awesome, really informative with the beers and made us feel welcome there. They actually don't serve food but had a lot of menus to order delivery so we just got a pizza and ended up sharing it with the other patrons at the bar. The beer was so good. I bought the coolest glass too he had served my beer in. The way its made keeps a constant bubble coming from the bottom, I seriously love it. Glad we chose this as our one brewery stop when we were in Denver! I really really with I could have brought the 'Oh for Hefe'ns Sake' back with me. Awesome! Pretty much just awesome! I like to think of this place as a small gem tucked away off to the side. It is a smaller brewery, but has used good of the space they have to accommodate many guest coming in. Comfortable seating, from the bar to couches, large table's small tables and couple's tables spread out. It is a first come first serve kind of environment so come on in look for a place to sit; usually if it is packed people are friendly enough to share a big table with you! Very cozy laid back atmosphere but with lots of fun energy! This being said it helps to give eye contact when you are ready to order or need something instead of assuming she knows what you want when you don't look alert. She comes by to check on you don't get me wrong, but I have found this works well when you need something because the majority of people who come in sit back watch the game, bring out the cards and snacks, relax or fall into deep conversation, make themselves at home, kind of like your own personal bar but with a lovely lady to come around with delicious beer!! They do not serve food which is ok because their beer is awesome! ... Well yeah ok, but if you do want food they always have a fantastic food truck right outside in the parking lot where you can bring the food in! My favorite is the CKrepes they are a must try! Now I am a bit picky about my beer but I feel they have a rotating variety of different beers mixed in with their main picks and have always found something I love! A fun note... Mexican Chocolate Stout: believe the hype!!! Yup, any brewery that can make me love a stout deserves 5 stars in my book. I can't express to you how much I typically dislike dark beers like stouts and porters. I can appreciate the flavors, sure, but you will rarely catch me drinking more than a little taster of a stout (exceptions to this being carbombs and beer floats). That is, until I tried the Mexican Chocolate Stout at Copper Kettle. This was one of the most incredible beers, let alone stouts, that I've had the pleasure of drinking. You know when you read the description of a beer and it says something ridiculous like "floral undertones with high notes of starfruit and moss" and you're sitting there with your beer that tastes like beer, trying to figure out how in gods name they know what moss tastes like? Well, not here. The description of cinnamon, cacao nibs, and chili pepper could not be more true to its words. I could actually taste the cacao and the chilis imparted a perfect amount of subtle spiciness to the beer. Tried samplers of a few other beers as well and enjoyed all of them. My other favorite was their Belgian strong ale. They also had a casked version of the stout brewed with vanilla beans. I didn't like that one as much as the original but my friend tried it and preferred it. To each their own! Their imperial red was also very good and I can't wait to try all of their upcoming cereal themed cask beers! Friendly and efficient service even though the place was packed. I would let the fact that this place was in the middle of nowhere sway my opinion, but... what's that!? Can I try a sip? Blimey! That's good beer! The night I came here for the first time, it was actually a memorial service/fund raiser for one of the people lost in the Aurora Theater shootings. He had been a member of their mug club and they were raising money for Ronald McDonald House in his honor. I digress. My point is that there were a lot more people than normal and a lot more variety, so I got to try a lot of stuff. I tried everything from light to dark (and paid for it the next day) and I liked every single variety, which is rare for me since I'm wary of the hoppy beers. But everything was spot on. I really can't wait to come back on a "normal" night because the space feel mush less like a brewery and more like a coffee house. Plus the staff were all incredibly friendly. read more

Well, if these aren't the nicest people ever! When there wasn't a seat anywhere to be seen, you'd think you're just out of luck, but the staff here make anyone and everyone feel welcome...even if you are just awkwardly standing there waiting for a slight gap to open up at the bar. We didn't even have to wait squeeze in there with the rest of the beer drinkers. Instead, a server found us, greeted us, and took our order. I like that. Even after finding a seat at a table, the service was consistent and super happy. Of course, I went for the Mexican Chocolate Stout and was not let down. I had tasted it at a beer fest over a year ago and promised myself actually make my way to the brewery and enjoy a pint all on my own. And I finally did! And it was wonderful. It's spicy with a rich, creamy consistency. The flavor profile is pretty complex that creates a crazy dance with your taste buds. Sure, the location is obscure, but Wit's End and Strange kind of have....strange locations too. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be on the inside though. The inside is pretty nice, has ample eating, and is relatively easy to move around in. Seemingly unrestricted parking all around the little office park is easy. When I first went in, it was a breeze to get a beer even though they were doing their St. Patty's day event. It got much busier as time went on but staff levels were pretty ample. The true treasure jewel here is the award winning Mexican Chocolate Stout. It is downright delightful. Rich, chocolatey, and just a little bit of burn as it goes down. I also sampled the Irish Dry Stout (easy drinkin') and sip of Kristen N's big, citrusy IPA. Prices are pretty standard ($1.50 for a 4 oz taster and $6 for 10 oz of the higher ABV Mexican Chocolate Stout) but the growlers appeared to be the true bargain. Growler fills of their more standard beers (not including the Mexican Chocolate) range from $10-$12. Cheaper than most places I've seen around Denver. read more

This place is a fair bit out of the way, but the beer is delicious. We only tried two. The Mexican Chocolate Stout is as good as everyone else has already said. I personally wouldn't be able to drink more than one, but my spice hound wife could sip them all night long. I gravitated towards "the hoppa," which is a fresh hopped American Pale Ale. I don't consider myself a huge hophead, and Copper Kettle did an excellent job of achieving balance in this beer. They featured the hop character in a quaffable and refreshing beer without beating you over the head with an enormous amount of hops. It was quite tasty. This place has a little bit of a suburbia vibe, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is different from what I am used to. However, the service was friendly, and the American Homebrewers discount is always welcome (even if they did just give it to me on my beers. about half the time people will give me the discount on my wife's beers as well.) There was a food truck outside the night we were there. Not sure if this is a regular thing. Finally, they have playing cards set out all over the place and some of the tables had checkerboards built in. I'm a fan, a very big fan! I used to see Brittany H and Lisa H check in here, but I couldn't figure out where the "brewery" was located. It turns out it's near my house, but in an office park off of Parker Road. Once there was a UYE HH last spring/summer, I knew I had to get here, since it is literally 5 minutes from my house. As I've learned this summer, there are so many small microbrews that are popping up everywhere. This one is an office park that looks like time forgot it. With that said, the brewery itself is very nice and clean, with tables and a bar inside to sit at. There's no food sold here, so to speak, other than chips, I think? Copper Kettle constantly is brewing new beers and taps new beers every week or so it seems. If you follow them on Facebook and/or sign up for their mailing list, you will be kept abreast of what is currently on tap, as well as the limited releases and Firkin Wednesdays. There is a food truck schedule, so although they don't sell food, you can usually get some food to enjoy with your beers. In the summers on weekends, they usually have live music and part of the parking lot cordoned off with an outdoor tent, that people can enjoy beers, food and music. I brought the bf with me on a weekend and ran into some Yelp friends and the Mr. got to try several taster beers. He liked most of the beers we tasted and even took home a growler. I really need to get back there soon, they have tasty beers. Also, you can sign up for the beer loyalty card. After you spend so many $$, you get something free. Disclaimer - i am by no means a beer snob nor connoisseur, just a gal that generally drinks wheat beer. I think the build up was too much for me - my brewer friend from CA who did a tour of a bunch of breweries listed this one as number one, other friends always sing the praises. I must say i didn't go for the taster, and i went for the one most likely to be like what i normally drink. Alas, it was just ok. The poor bartender was totally overwhelmed, it was Easter, and about 25 of us descended to join a friend enjoy his bday beer. He did his very best and i never had to wait very long for a refill. Alas the fact that the menu rotates so often (aka, if i did find a beer i liked it might not be here next time) and it takes 25 minutes from downtown to travel the 6 miles here makes it an undesirable location - for me. And there are giant windows, but nothing opens and no patio - the best way to enjoy a nice cold beer is in the sunshine... Minus points for that too. I know the residents of the breakers and my friends that live over here love it, and if i make a trip to HMart i might pop in, but i won't make another special trip here... read more

Copper Kettle Brewing - Flight - Breweries Near Me - Denver, Colorado

Went in to Copper Kettle on a Saturday afternoon and after sitting down at the bar I got the feeling that maybe I walked into someone's man cave or beer den. It's a very laid back vibe here with a medium sized bar, a few small tables, and a large leather couch in the corner. I dig it. It wasn't too packed, but there were a number of locals hanging out at the bar and a couple playing cards on the couch. Got the sampler flight of all eight beers on tap for $12, impressions below: Bavarian Helles: This light lager pours a nice golden color with a creamy head, it smells very malty with a bit of sweetness. The taste follows the aroma with grainy maltiness, however I found it to be a bit too bitter for my liking. Additionally, I thought it comes away a little on the dull side on the finish. I feel like that clean, crisp finish that's the hallmark of light lagers was missing and would have made this beer a bit more enjoyable. Heller Dopplebock: Appearance is a deep golden/brown color. The nose is much maltier than the Helles. The taste is also sweeter which is provided by the darker malt used as the backbone. No hop bitterness here, the malt is the main star in this brew. This was definitely a step in the right direction from the Helles in my opinion. La Paloma Agave Wit: This white beer was actually a winner of CKBC's homebrew competition, I think it's cool that they give the community the opportunity to join in the art of brewing and let the winner showcase their beer. The card lists a number of exotic ingredients that went in it: pomelos (an Asian citrus fruit, kinda like a grapefruit), grapefruit, limes, agave nectar, coriander, chamomile, key lime zest, and kaffir lime leaves. Still with me? With all that stuff it seems like this beer might be all over the map and muddled. The smell was...interesting. At first it kinda smelled like soap, I know, a little off putting... however the taste was VERY intriguing. The citrus elements are perfect for the Witbier style and they work perfectly with one another. The pomelo comes through nicely with the grapefruit providing a hint of tartness. The wheat makes this beer feel smooth with a medium to light body. Very complex profile yet highly drinkable at the same time. This one's a keeper. Homerun! Belgian Golden Strong: At this point a regular pulled up next to me and we got to talking about CKBC's history and the various beers they've produced. It was nice to get the background from someone that's familiar with the joint and from the neighborhood. In my eagerness to soak up knowledge I got away from my tasting notes, so there's not much to say about this one. I don't think it's any fault of the beer as I'm pretty sure I liked it. Give it a shot and found out for yourself! Copper Mezzina Ale: As the name suggests, this pours a rich copper color and as nice floral hop nose to it. I love the aroma that noble hops give and the nose they gave this beer was prominent. They also provided a nice citrus element on the taste that's followed with a bit of sweetness and a subtle bitter finish that lingers through until the next sip. I really liked this one as well. American Amber: This had a deep ruby/brown tint to it. Well balanced with hops and malt. Perhaps a little more bitter than a traditional amber but the malts help to subdue the hops from getting out of hand. Black IPA: This was a special release and wasn't on the tap menu, but it pours dark and black with the bitterness of the hops really coming through in the nose. The taste however is more akin to a Porter rather than an IPA. The dark roasts from the grains mask any over powering hop bitterness, but you can find some subtle notes on the finish. Mexican Chocolate Stout: Ever had a Mexican hot chocolate? (think of a darker, spicier, less sweet version of a hot cocoa) Well put that in a stout and here's what you get! The nose has notes of dark cocoa, cinnamon, deep spices, and roasty aromas. The taste is similar with the malt and cinnamon hitting you first. The dark roast of the grains subside more towards the cinnamon and spices that then progresses to dark, bittersweet chocolate and finishes with a chili kick that lingers and builds long after the sip. Some might find the spiciness from the chilis to be too hot, but I love it. New Belgium offers a similar beer with their Cocoa Mole, but I found CKBC's version to be much more drinkable as NB's is much thicker and more syrupy. This would be the perfect beer to drink on a snowy evening or by the campfire. Try this beer if you're up for an adventure! Overall I'd say I was very impressed by CKBC. I had the pleasure of speaking with Jeremy, the owner and brewmaster, since he was working the bar. It's always nice to get the chance to talk to the brewer and learn what's the inspiration behind the beers. The quality of the beers were consistent and on point. Wow. I was very surprised by Copper Kettle, in a good way. At first it felt like I was walking into a doctor's office as it's located in a professional office complex. Can't say I've ever walked into a brewery with a suite number on the door. The ambiance is more coffee shop than bar, but it feels right. The Mexican Chocolate Stout is phenomenal, although one is enough per visit. It has just enough spice and chocolate to make it interesting and one of a kind. The staff was very friendly and knowledge and offered some good suggestions. They don't serve food but you can bring your own food in or have it delivered. I'm a huge fan of this place and would highly recommend checking it out. My initial thought is to keep this a hidden gem, but that's just selfish and others should enjoy this place! I know I know, it's extremely tough to give a place that has a few good beers 2 stars, but the 2 star description of "Meh. I've experienced better" hit the nail on the head. In a town with tons of micro/nano brewery options, Copper Kettle just didn't stack up. The location isn't really close to anything, so you're definitely making a trek there driving specifically to Copper Kettle and nothing else. The space inside had no real character to speak of, and almost felt like you were shopping at Bed, Bath, and Beyond or something like that. Generic furniture and decor really lacked any ambience. As for the beer, their High Country Breakfast Stout was very good, but $2.50 for a 4 oz pour was actually more expensive than just paying $6 for 10oz. Their Mexican chocolate stout was pretty good as well, although I don't know if I could have handled the flavor profile for a full pint. Definitely interesting though. Their other beers were fairly generic to me, and I feel that microbreweries should offer some different/unique styles other than lagers, which CK had 2 of. Overall I left feeling one word: "Meh". read more

You might think that because these guys are rookies in the Denver microbrew scene, that their brews might be only mediocre or that the beers would awkwardly wander into the wrong classroom for third period on their first day and spend the next week filled with humiliation and shame. But you'd be wrong. These aren't the awkward teenage beers that get lost in new schools. These are world-class brews served from an eager and friendly staff. We're talking walk-on, red-shirt varsity league. The ambiance is modern and minimalist, with decor including pictures of the kettles in back, and jars of roasted malts on the wall. How neat is that?! But seriously, almost every beer on their menu is perfect. They have four regular beers: Bavarian Helles - a delicous golden lager. This coming from someone who usually despises lighter lagers. Black Onyx - Don't let the redundant title fool you - dark in color and light in body, this beer actually flows abundantly in mountain streams in heaven. Copper Mezzina - typical American Pale Ale. Dusseldorf Alt - true to the style, according to a certified BJCP judge. Not my cup of tea. Or my pint of beer. But still not bad. In addition to the staple beers, then they have a rotating tap list, and if you're really lucky, they will have their Mexican Chocolate Stout on draught. Not for the faint-of-heart, this one is deliciously spicy, with a cinnamon flavor up front, dark malts, and a hot finish. There's no food here, which is deeply saddening, but during Broncos games, a taco truck parks out front, with 5-star food (and it accepts credit cards). On my visit, 6 of 7 beers were amazing. The seventh beer, who shall remain nameless, had a definite flaw, but I'm hoping Jeremy, the head brewer, will make adjustments to dial in the flavor. Overall, a must-try for any Denverite with an interest in craft beer. In fact, there should be a sign out front at the nearby Bull & Bush Brewery redirecting anyone who enjoys GOOD beer to Copper Kettle. read more

I love the Copper Kettle! One of my favorite storage shed breweries! A bit off the beaten path, but worth it. The staff is always so friendly and able to describe their brews so well. The vibe is so warm and welcoming. I enjoy sitting inside, and out, now that it's nice out again. There are a few places to order delivery if you are hungry and they also have food trucks that rotate. But what you come here for is the beer, right! They are known for the Mexican Chocolate Stout and always have that on draft or in bombers. It is a special beer! Save it for last, it's a palate wrecker! The chocolate flavor is strong and the chili comes last, and lasts!! Not sure I could drink a whole glass of this one! My favorite is the smoked porter. First I learned that Copper Kettle existed. Then someone told me where it was. Fast-Forward 6 months, and I realized that was actually about 2 miles via unladen swallow from my apartment. On the back end of an impromptu beer tour, some friends and I went. It's small, but really inviting. The server we had (whose name I cannot remember for the best of me) was amazing. She had glasses (aaaand was pretty cute.) She asked our names when we sat, and I was blown away when she referred to us each by name for the rest of the evening. Kudos. I'm lucky I can remember the names of my friends. The beer was decent. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. It's important to remember, here, that there's a difference between a bad beer, and a good beer that just isn't in-line with the drinkers palate. That's where Copper Kettle is for me. Nothing was phenomenal to me, but at the same time I won't hesitate for a second to go back and have more. Prices are good, samplers are fantastic, and they've always got new and crazy stuff to try. Even if you don't want to chug an entire keg of their beers within seconds of trying it, this place definitely has some zymurgic magic that you'd do well to splash down your pie hole. There is a soft spot in my heart for breweries that stick themselves in office parks - CK is not exception. I really love the interior here - it's inviting, not too loud, and there are plenty of places to sit. You can bring in your own food or order delivery from several local places. Coffee-shop-esque is the best word to describe it. It's in an office building, so it would not be a place you'd find easily...word of advice- keep an eye out! From what I understand they have a few set beers that are always on the menu, one of them being the Mexican chocolate stout. I thought it sounded quite delicious, but it was really spicy. I'm a spice lover too, so it's not like I was begging for milk or anything. I just didn't want it in my beer. Kind of overwhelming. I heard it's not usually like that, so I was disappointed in that respect. The rest of the beers I tasted were quite good. On Fridays, they allow you to guess what spices they have in one of the beers. If you guess correctly, you win a growler! Definitely a fun thing to do. Service was also good. We are lucky to live in Denver or should i say drink in Denver? This place is walking distance from my house, which makes this my designated hangout. I always get gas at the Western off of Parker and Florida and for the past few months, I've been keeping my eye on this place located in an industrial strip mall behind the gas station. But as the months went by, I kept seeing the crowds and the cars parked in front grow, so we stopped in and I decided to pick up an Imperial Red Growler. 19 dollars for the first time, so a little steep. But what a very nice beer, had a fresh fruity taste which I put up there with any red. So one of my buddies wanted to have a drink, so I said, meet me at Copper. Friday afternoon and it was laid back setting. You'd expect no one to be there but there were a half a dozen people thinking the same thing as me. Once you step inside, it has a nice dark decor with a copper bar. Justin, our bartender was cool and patiently educated me on all the beers and the processes. They are going to whip out some new beers later on in July. The Mexican Chocolate stout is out now and will come back in July. Of course I got the sampler and my favorite was the Belgian Strong Ale. Almost has a wine like quality and very addictive the more you drink. I actually can't wait to go back and I definitely will time my visit with some of the food trucks that come by through the week. Weird to say, but I hope this place stays the way it is and not too many people come through the door, I'm selfish that way. read more

I love this place, and it was within walking distance within my old home. The beers on tap are delicious. And even when its busy, they get to you within a reasonable time. Also i recommend joining the rewards club. Totally friendly staff and patrons and I will be back. read more

Excellent brews. The Kolsch they had on tap was smooth and well balanced. The basil beer they had was good, but didn't really taste any basil which was a bit of a let down. The space is a converted office park location, so don't expect it to be trendy. It has almost the feel of a cigar bar. Parking has always been easily available. They don't offer food, but have menus of restaurants in the area that can deliver food. read more

If you build it, they will come. I suppose this is the philosophy behind Copper Kettle's unusual location in an office park behind a gas station and some auto repair shops. Since breweries are sprouting up all over town these days, it would seem Denver's beer lovers will drink just about anywhere as long as the beer is good. Well, even this craft beer newbie will tell you that Copper Kettle's beer is more than good enough to drink in an office park. The interior of Copper Kettle is cozy and two walls of large windows make it bright and cheery. You may sit at the bar, at one of the small or large tables, or on one of the comfy couches. I dropped by for a fun celebration with a bunch of Yelpers and the staff was very accommodating to our large group. Homemade treats were brought in (thank you!) and we claimed one whole side of the space. I was anxious to try the award winning Mexican Chocolate Stout and was wisely advised to make it my last beer since it's quite overwhelming to the palate. So I began with the light and refreshing Czech Pilsner, just my speed. The Mexican Chocolate Stout was so worth the wait and exactly how I thought it would be: rich and chocolate velvety with zesty spices that linger on the back of your tongue. Yum! It's more than beer, it's dessert. The only thing lacking at Copper Kettle? A permanent patio space. But, I understand, at times the parking lot becomes the outdoor space with tents, food trucks, and live music, such as the Two Year Anniversary Party coming up on April 18-21. I love Copper Kettle! The brewery is tucked in an office park area right off of Parker Road. I had no idea such awesomeness lived so close to me! The space is a little small so is always filled to the brim. Can't complain, it speaks volumes about their service and quality of beer right? The patio out front is nice and has a few picnic tables. They occasionally have live music out there, nice way to spend a summer afternoon if you ask me! The beers are just great! My favorite is the Mexican chocolate stout. It's spicy and dark and full of wonderfulness. I am also a fan of the swinging udder. This past Wednesday they had a cucumber saison on cask. Very refreshing for a hot summer day, and man was it a hot summer day! They always seem to have a food truck so after a few swinging udders, get yourself a nosh. And look into their rewards program because you get rewarded with beer for drinking beer. Brilliant! read more

This place is clean, calming, cool and educational. There are cards on every table and they have a stash of board games for visitors to play. They sold us four beer mugs for $5. Can't beat that price! Try a "flight" comes with 4 flavors of what they have on top-which is a lot of options. The bartender took us in the back and let us meet the Brewers. They explained the process which was way more intense than even I realized and I've Bartended for the last 6 years. Their Brewers actually have degrees from across the country which I thought was super neat. Didn't realize you could go to school for something so awesome. Beers were great but the experience is what makes me a raving fan here. Totally affordable and make sure you try their popcorns!! read more
