When you're on the highway, you have to hope your fellow yelpers were honest. I've never been to Seymour, Texas, but I'm about to eat there. Copeland's Cafe had good reviews, so here we are. Typical small town cafe, friendly staff and good food. They were crowded and short handed, just like everywhere else. My side salad with honey mustard was fresh and delicious. My chicken fry and onion rings were GOOD, and Glenda enjoyed her Buffalo chicken sandwich. You can see in the picture we should have got there after 5 o'clock. Ribeye! This was a miss and a mess. The food took over 45 minutes to come out. Once it was not great. The chicken fried steak batter was bland. The French fries and the white gravy were cold. The salad bar looked like a mess that wasn't clean or appetizing. There was a kid - obviously a wait staff or owners kid that was picking rolls off the food bar and eating them at a table while waiting on his parents. I would never stop in here again. read more

While storm chasing in Texas and before the storms fired up, it was lunchtime we came across this charming little place, Copeland Cafe. What was cool was opening the door and seeing the place filled with local cowboys. Real cowboys. Pretty neat. Our server, Megan,was very attentive and gracious with lots of good Texas hospitality. The special was all-you can eat Catfish but I ordered the chicken bacon sandwich. Tons of bacon with a yummy slab of beef steak tomato. The fried were crispy and tasted like they were double fried. This was a great place to stumble upon. It's worth it. read more

Came in on the way through town looking for a quick bite and this place did NOT disappoint. You could tell about 1:30 the waitresses were exhausted but were as happy, friendly & accommodating as can be! Not to mention the food was phenomenal. My husband got the Buffett and my son and I got burgers. So. Unbelievably. Delicious. Felt like a good ole fashioned country cafe, which is my kind of ambiance. & in and out in 25 min. Stopped here on our way to a family reunion, we were glad we did. They had a lunch buffet that consisted of chicken fried steak, hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans & rolls, everything was delicious. The pricing is for 1 trip, 2 trips or all you can eat & for an extra $3 you can get the salad bar. We will be back next time we come through here. read more

Good thing we weren't in a hurry as has been written before the slowest cooking ever. Lunch menu is sort of limited because they have a buffet but the food didn't look appealing. Burger was great and handmade and buffalo chicken sandwich good. Would pass on the potato salad. read more

Trued them 3 times and man what a wait! Food was good, but just to long of a wait. I called an order in to pickup was told 30 minutes. I showed up in 45 minutes(gave them 15 extra minutes and all be darned if I didn't get the order 30 minutes later! If you have time to kill, this is your place. read more

Avoid this restaurant. We went there for dinner. I got hamburger steak with gravy and onions and it came with mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were good (hard to mess up veggies). The hamburger steak was pretty good, too. The mashed potatoes were not good - at all. I'm Irish, so I love potatoes. I didn't even finish them. My wife got catfish (which is supposedly one of their best dishes) along with fries and okra. The okra was way too salty. The fries were OK. The catfish was "alright - I've had better." Our waitress was fine. However, the cook came out of the kitchen for some reason and said to us that we looked like "two teenagers" because we were both on our phones (the wait here is awful). His comment and interruption were not welcome. One of the waitresses brings her two kids to work, too. The son (about age ten) roamed around the restaurant, including hanging all over the salad bar. I guess they saw us looking at him after a while, so they told the kids to go outside. He left his piles of toys on the table across from us. The real kicker was the owner standing right by the register when we paid. She never asked how our dinner was. Never said thank you. Never said have a good night. Nothing. To top it all off, before we even walked in, we were met with a sign on the door that reads "15% increase on all prices effective immediately." Wouldn't have minded that so much, if the owner was friendly and the food was good. read more

I called the Restaurant to ask what time they were open til. The woman who answered the phone told me til around 9. I am here now and it is 7:45 and they are closed. Fuck this place. I hope they go out of business. read more

This place does have good food the only thing is they are slow as X-Mas. I'm not sure why it takes forever to get your food here but it does so if you have a lot of time to burn waiting for food this is the spot read more

hamburger was cooked perfect and had wrapper to keep it all together. mustard potato salad was good. broccoli cooked perfect and very buttery. at least it was all the way i like it. read more
