I hired them to complete a parking lot project and paid approximately $16,000 toward the work. Throughout the project, I was repeatedly asked to make additional deposits as they moved from one stage to another.
I was initially approached with what sounded like a good opportunity. They told me they had a load of material that needed to be used right away and could offer it to me at a discounted price. I agreed, but unfortunately, the project was started and never completed.
There seemed to be one reason after another for the delays. At one point, their equipment caught fire on my property, and we had to use our own fire extinguishers to help put the fire out. Those fire extinguishers were never replaced.
The weather was also repeatedly blamed. However, there were many workable days when they did not show up or made very little progress. The project continued to drag on until the weather actually became bad, at which point I was told the work would have to be postponed for a couple of months. By then, they had already received substantial payments from me.
Now, months later, communication has essentially stopped. I have repeatedly attempted to contact them by phone calls, text messages, emails, and even postal mail. My attempts to get a response and have the project completed have gone unanswered.
I am extremely disappointed that after paying approximately $16,000, I am still left with an unfinished parking lot.
T&T Asphalt was operated by a father-and-son team, both named Terry, who traveled from Louisiana to complete my project. After this experience, I later found out they are operating without proper licensing and insurance. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company independently verify their license, insurance coverage, business address, and credentials before paying any money or allowing work to begin.
I hope sharing my experience prevents someone else from going through what I have been dealing with. They may show you pictures, make promises, or offer what appears to be a great deal, but please do your own research and verify everything before handing over your money.
