There are several flavors available and the worker presented the ice cream scoops so nice and smooth. The care and dedication is so nice. I'd recommend the passion fruit flavor and lychee if it's available! The flavors also change seasonally. There aren't a whole lot of tables maybe like a couple the last time I went. It feels like a cute little shop with an ordering window.

I walked up to the window and the worker was hunched over the cooler on his phone, took one glance at me and went back to his phone. No greeting, no acknowledgment, not a single word. I took a moment to check the menu and waited a few more moments in the hopes that he looked up at me - he didn't. I should've just walked away at this point. But I didn't. I said I was ready and asked what flavors he recommends since it's my first time. "Well you can sample the flavors" . . . Me: "oh I know but I'm curious what YOU recommend" So finally he offered the birthday cake and I asked for a sample of the milk moon too. I went with the split scoop for $10 but an extra charge for the seasonal flavor so it came out to $11. I will say - the portion is generous and the presentation is nice. The worker was a little bit more talkative upon bringing my cup and the card reader to pay. But it didn't make up for the initial interaction, or lack thereof. The flavors are pretty mild but the moon milk definitely had the floral and "spiced" flavor to it. It was interesting and different than most ice cream around LA but nothing that made me go "wow" and want to get it again. The vanilla was very mild and tasted more like a milk flavor. Both scoops were creamy and smooth without being too sweet. The birthday cake I sampled was very sweet so I'm glad I didn't choose that. Overall it just wasn't impressive for me to return and the service aspect doesn't help the situation

Though I've been here just once (for lunch), I am already plotting my return. I arrived a bit earlier than my friends and in so doing, accidentally avoided the start of the lunch rush. As there are not many tables here, I feel I lucked out snagging a table for us. As I took at the cozy, classy splendor of a still very new establishment, the relaxed but polished decor was both inspiring and low-key. I had an excellent espresso while I got my wish: extended time to take in the menus. The drink menu, and the food menu. It's my favorite when that part of the cafe/restaurant experience delivers tons of time to get really acquainted with a place. Our friendly, helpful server asked the questions I had about the menu, and the time he didn't know he went and found out. Breakfast is served all day, by the way. My friend started with the sausage rolls (accompanied by the freshly made ketchup). Delicious and great for a table starter or a fairly light entree. Good crunch, and moist inside with plenty of seasoning. My entree was the black forest ham quiche. It was indicative of everything else here: the right size, the right mix of produce, protein, fluffy, cheesy egg inside, and anchored by a subtle but first-rate crust. It's served with a fennel based salad, a crisp and a great complement. We were happy and satisfied sooner than expected (alas, Le Moules must wait). Still, I could not resist a little dessert and ordered the Pain Aux Apricot. It was fantastic, something out of a cafe in Paris. Crisp and light and just sweet enough. Appreciated the friendly service. A steady diet of 70's soft-rock quietly served as the soundtrack at this one lunch. There is easily accessible parking on the street or mostly-free city lot.

Was craving some sweets and it just so happened I came in to the right spot. This place has a variety of individual pies perfect for one person. Ordered the mixed berry pie (blackberries, raspberries, and one other which I can't recall). Sooooo incredibly delicious. Thought it would be overwhelmingly sweet but it really wasn't. Had it with a cappuccino which was perfect. They also had cherry, apple, and banoffe cream, and I believe a few other seasonal options. But have to say I didn't regret my choice. They also have savory pies including chicken and leek, and beer pies. Was a bit full from lunch but would love to try these at some point. Additionally, they also had some lunch and dinner entrees. Overall super cute and cozy place to sit and enjoy some tea/coffee with a pie. Love the vibe. And the service was also exceptional. Definitely coming back soon.

The staff was super friendly and gave us a free sample of their most popular flavor: the Hokey Pokey. It was a caramel toffee like whipped soft serve ice cream with toffee dust on top, but it felt light and not overpoweringly sweet. We ended up ordering the hazelnut Hokey Pokey which had bits of hazelnut and dark chocolate on top of a the Hokey Pokey flavor mixed with hazelnut. Absolutely delicious! Do yourself a favor and try some NZ ice cream here. You won't regret it!

The last time I had Hokey Pokey was in New Zealand more than 10 years ago. I absolutely loved it back then and ate it almost every day during my trip, even though we visited during winter! So, of course, I had to try it again when I saw it here at Hokey Pokey LA. I have to say, it's pretty darn close to what I remember. Although maybe my taste buds have changed a little over the years because this time I found myself wishing there were MORE toffee pieces. Kind of like a McFlurry where the toppings are mixed all the way through so you get a little bit in every bite. Hahaha It was delicious, creamy, and exactly what I needed to cool down on such a hot day. The small size was actually more than enough for me to enjoy without feeling too stuffed. A little taste of New Zealand right here in LA.
