Today I was surprised to see the very first thing I fell in love here, the Bologna sandwich was back on the menu. You know I threw down on that immediately seeing it on the menu. The service was excellent, and they managed to get a fairly large group served and on our way in about an hour. The food was superb. I had the large chicken-fried steak, which was hand-breaded and very good. The mashed potatoes appeared to be instant, which was a little disappointing, but finding a genuinely hand-breaded chicken-fried steak cooked this well is becoming difficult. Too many places now serve something that seems to have simply come frozen from a bag. Everyone in our group was happy with their food. The atmosphere was perfectly fine, although I'm not particularly concerned about a restaurant's lighting or décor when the food and service are this good. I definitely recommend this place, especially in a city where so many of the locally owned restaurants have permanently closed.
