As for the other review... if you know how medical and healthcare billing works the fees are contracted with insurance companies, the offices are not able to set them... so if you don't like the reimbursement situation you should take that up with insurance, not the office.

Went in for a…read morecleaning today...dreading it like most of you but this office (from the staff in the front helping you with paper work to the dental hygienist in the back - are professional and make you feel comfortable) Ginger the dental hygienist took great care of me, knowing I was nervous about having sensitive teeth - she took her time to explain everything she was doing! Stopping when I winced in discomfort - even offering dulling medication when I didn't even know that was an option, making my cleaning that less stressful!! Turns out the dentist isn't that scary!! The staff in the front took the time to explain paperwork, going over prices when I asked a billion questions, which trust me - I had. I recommend this place to anyone who needs a cleaning or teeth removed. #WhoYouGonnaCall #SonrisaDental

We enjoyed many years of great service from Sonrisa, but as of today we are done doing business…read morewith them. We attempted to re-schedule, not cancel, appts for my wife and daughter but they insisted that we pay a $35 cancelation fee for each. We weren't canceling, but rescheduling due to our dog having surgery and daughter having a test at school. We have never had a problem rescheduling in the past. They didn't budge on the fee, so we have decided to pay the fees and take our business elsewhere. It seems like the customer service and professionalism within this office has gone downhill over the last year or so. If you're willing to lose 4 long time patients over a $35 fee, well then we don't need you either. The only thing we will miss about this office is the hygienist, Brenda. Thank you Brenda for always providing exceptional service over the years, we will miss you. When Dr Barber and Dr Thusu were there, this office was great. Things have gone downhill ever since they left.

I have been going to this clinic for over 4 years & I can truly say Austin Garrison is the best dentist I have ever been too. I'm 46, so believe me I have been to a lot of dentist, LOL. I went in today to get my teeth cleaned & as always it was sooo amazing, they called me back early. Called me by my first name and they treated me special. What can I say? Dr. Wert gets the job done. I've had work done at San Antonio Oral Surgery twice…read morenow, and both times Dr. Wert and his team have taken care of me. Dr. Wert is a pro. Knows exactly what he's doing and gets the job done right. I have never had an issue. His staff is excellent, and there is never a wait for your appointment like some dentists. They are really on the ball. The receptionist gave me some flack for arriving on time for my consultation instead of coming early. I will admit, they had asked me to come early, but I simply couldn't make it. No need for browbeating me over it. As far as the comment about charging $198 for an x-ray, it's true, but you should know your insurance coverage going in. Insurance companies aren't going to cover x-rays at the surgeon when you should have gotten them from your primary dentist beforehand. The $198 is an avoidable cost if you understand your insurance coverage. Dr Wert and his team provide 5 star service. Only giving 4 stars because, one, the dentist chair is worn with old cushioning. Don't need my arse aching while my teeth are being drilled and yanked at, and, two, they never called to follow up after the procedure which is a very common practice.

I get it, no one likes going to the dentist, so an oral surgeon is even more terrifying, right?…read more Not Dr Wert. After another dentist in SA left me with a botched filling, I needed either a root canal or extraction and implant. Since I'm a baby and want as little work as possible, I chose the extraction and implant, since they have a much greater longevity than root canals. I showed up to his office in agony, wanting nothing more than for someone to lop my jaw off. Dr Wert informed me that due to the bad filling, I had infection and he didn't want to cause me more pain by operating on an infected mess (my words, not his). I was sent home with a great supply of pain meds, antibiotics, and valium for my dental fear to take on the procedure date. When I returned for my appointment, I was ushered into a warm procedure room, given a cozy, plush blanket, and they made sure I had music to help me zone out. This was the first dental experience I've had where they truly made sure I was comfortable, with my surroundings and the pain factor. I can honestly say the actual procedure didn't hurt one bit. With each follow up appointment, Dr Wert continued to show great chair side manner, making sure I was pleased with the results and that I wasn't in any pain at all. I can't say it enough: this is by far the best dental experience I've ever had.
