I goggled "pie near me " and the Purple Mountain Bakery popped up! I accessed their website and the cheesecake pics sold me! I called and the owner walked me through the order procedure! Coffee and pie was a great way to brighten up a grey day in the Fort. You must understand that quality is not inexpensive. A bit pricey but worth it! Give them a call. I don't understand the hype?…read more We stopped by Ivanhoe's for lunch during a work trip. I've been told the place is supposed to be an "Indiana destination location"... I don't get it. Ivanhoe's was ok, but nothing special. It's like a rundown and dilapidated Culver's, but with a smaller menu and the food isn't nearly as good. We got there at 11:40 and it was busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest... It was literally like an AARP Club in there (we were the young whipper snappers). The service was friendly, but it took 40 minutes for us to order and get our food... Their operations were super slow and inefficient. The food itself was alright (decent pork tenderloin) and they have an ice cream menu the size of Texas, but overall it just wasn't anything to write home about. Ivanhoe's is your quintessential podunk small town Indiana restaurant, which is cool but not worth all the hype... Good? Yes. Great? No.

They are next door to each other in the Bethel Pike Shopping Center north of McGalliard, so finding free parking was easy, though a little crowded. Inside the sweet shop, there are tables for guests who wish to enjoy their choices while there. At the back is a long counter with their buckets of ice cream on display. You can get samples of their flavors before purchase. Note on the right hand side is a list of daily specials that might be of use. There are also menu boards for pairings of ice cream and cookies that are available. I went with a lighter option and chose a raspberry sorbet (sherbet?) The woman behind the counter was friendly and promptly helped me with my order. She pointed out that my order qualified for a daily discount which I had missed. Very nice! Really nice tasting treat and a great price, especially with the discount. Review #3513
