A real life sugar shack! A great stop off the highway to satisfy your sweet tooth. One side is the candy and snacks, and the other side is a gift shop filled with treasures. We enjoyed a sample of the delicious toffee and bought some chocolates to enjoy on our road trip.

Nice clean candy store on one side and retail merchandise on the other half. Like many things candy is also getting expensive. I purchased an 8 oz. box of crystallized ginger for $3.00. Had some sweat and still had strong ginger taste. Maybe too much for some. I purchased an 8 oz. box of candied kiwi slices for $3.75. I think that because I had the ginger before trying the kiwi that the kiwi tasted like fish. I had a few more kiwi slices and they started tasting like candied kiwi. My wife said they tasted nasty. You be the judge. I purchased a 12 oz. box of liquorice all sorts for $4.50. I tried several to be fair to the assortment. Most of them are flavorless. Over all, not happy about two out of three of these items. Note that each time that I have opened the kiwi slices they had a smell like that of fish.

Corinthian chimes are on display and to experience in person here.

Wow! Once in a lifetime find in the middle of Ohio! We were just driving back from exploring the caves and waterfalls of Hocking Hills, when we accidentally came across this place. The toffee is amazing, a great selection of chocolates, and the owners were super friendly. I sampled and bought what I could, without seeming too indulgent! They also have a little knick knack areas, retro toys, and old style candies. But I was blown away by their large scale Corinthian and Shenandoah chime collections actually. I didn't realize that these soft, deep sounding, gong-like chimes are hard to find and experience in person. Now that I'm back home in CA, I should have bought a set while I was there. I may travel all the way from LA to check those out again. As well as the delicious toffee!

So much candy (and hats), so little time

They have the best fudge and handmade treats. The staff is always so nice. We drive 45 min. To get here and it is worth it.

You know how people say they feel like 'a kid in a candy store?' I brought my three youngest God…read moresons here on a walk once (the middle one tricked me) and they were absolutely overwhelmed by the options. A kid in a candy store is overwhelmed and then over-stimulated and will probably cry. I would rather be thrown back into that oubliette. The staff here is helpful and friendly and seemingly unperturbed by the constant barrage of questions from a six and four-year-old. They have tiny shopping carts that they wandered the store with as they examined everything. I'm happy for you, dear reader, that they were touching things that were in sealed containers. They picked, and picked, and picked until they found the candy that was perfect for them and picked a candy for their sister who didn't come along. They were so surprised when they actually had to give it to them. There is a selection of candy from all over the world and usually seasonal findings. They also offer a wide selection of sugary drinks to go with your sugary solids. My favorite? The quarter machines where the boys got toys they didn't need and some Smarties to eat on the way home (since I didn't let them open the candy they got at the store). I am sure you've inferred that we've been back. It's a great place to 'accidentally' wind up when you're on a walk with the kids.

She has a good sense of sweets apparently. We were greeted immediately by Vanessa and was told if we have any questions just to let her know. My mom was interested in the popcorn which Vanessa told us a little about. We spent about 20 to 25 minutes just browsing and looking at the assortment of old school candy my mom hasn't seen in a while, some did bring back memories for me too. I liked the stickers, the cloud decorations and the soda pop collection. Vanessa was super sweet just like the store. If I come back we'll definitely be visiting again.
