I love this park I go there with my family and friends and scouts sometimes . It's a nice place because it has a café and a park for bigger children and younger children, which shows that they care for the children . It has a duck pond and a lake and you can feed the ducks however not a lot which is good because it proves they care about the nature . It has a jungle go ape area that has support and pros watching you for your entire experience to ensure your safety but you still have fun . read more

My husband and I went for a very enjoyable walk around the Coombe Abbey wildlife grounds with some friends. She had a pram and found a lot of the trails easily accessible! We were there for almost 2-hours and even sat afterwards at the local cafe near the children's play area and enjoyed a sandwich and tea. It was very busy on a winters Sunday with loads of families, but once we made it towards the back side of the park it was less crowded. We will definitely go again and allow more time to meander around the grounds. The inside of the Coombe Abbey Hotel is just beautiful. Recommend popping inside for a quick look around. I hear the afternoon tea is exquisite in the hotel but i think we should book ahead! read more

5 Star all the way baby! This place is amazing - everyone has to visit here once in their lifetime... Not sure why people have given less than 5 star ratings, very bizarre... oh wait, you have to pay to park... so what? It's worth it! The HOUSE: Go inside. Walk around and take a look at all the function rooms and the conservatory, it's amazing. It always takes my breath away each time I go in at the sheer splendour of the house. I always image what it must have been like to live here... it must have been just incredible. The house I should add, is now a hotel. And a posh hotel at that. Thinking of getting a cheap room? Think again! This place is high end baby! You need some cash to stay here let me tell you. But it's worth it if you have the money, the rooms are incredible. The PARK: The lake is a metropolis of beautiful migratory birds from all over the World. Families have been coming here to 'feed the ducks' since I was a kid running along with my bag of stale bread! It also gives a great view of the house from across the serene lake. The walks are long and in winter, quite muddy too. But it's nice to clear your head or just to get some fresh air and exercise. In Spring and Summer, the park just explodes with life and the wild flowers are incredible. There are also other more secluded parts to the park that are off the beaten track, you've just got to look at the map and get lost occasionally... FACILITIES: There's a good Cafe with hot meals, various activity centres inside the main building, toilets, information centre and quite often an ice cream van parked up too alongside the children adventure playground. Coombe abbey country park is a great place for a number of things. You can to see the herons and birds from the hide, take binoculars so you can see everything close up including chics. You can go on a picnic which could be anywhere within the fileds, or on one of the provided benches. Take the dog for a really long walk You can take kids to the adventure playground area which is massive. You can even have a arbeque as toward the rear of the car park is a bbq ready for use. We live quite close to Coombe so visit regularly. Make sure that you take change for the car park which is quite pricey at £3.50 but you can stay for the whole day. At the beginning of the park there is a large grassed area which is ideal for picnics/bbq's and next to it is a great playground for kids of all ages. My kids usually spend a good hour here so it is a chance for the parents to sit and chill out and enjoy watching your kids play. Take a short walk to the lake to see the ducks and swans (take your bread to feed them). The house, which is now a hotel, dominates the park, and is beautiful especially on a sunny day. Deeper into the park is another play area for the bigger kids (and adults). A big wooden strucure to climb - a little bit like go ape on a smaller scale. You can spend the day with the family at Coombe walking, playing football or just sitting watching the world go by. It is a really lovely place to go on a summers day or for a winter stroll. read more

Coombe Country Park is a really beautiful space, a calm oasis of countryside surrounded by built-up Coventry. I can't think of a better place to spend a lazy afternoon wondering around, whatever the season. The park is built around the old Coombe Abbey, which is now a hotel, but the fact that the hotel is there doesn't detract from the park at all. The park is mainly woodland, with two lakes at the top end. One of these lakes is a fishing lake, which is owned by a syndicate but day fishing is available - it's a carp lake with some 40lb-plus specimens. There is a visitor centre with restaurant and cafe, gift shops, and well-staffed information centres. The staff that work here generally know the park extremely well, and no request for information is too much trouble. On our last visit we were foraging and the manager was able to show us on a map where the best trees for this were, as well as suggesting we might also like to pick some rowan to make jam with, and showing us what they looked like and even roughly how to make it! The rangers also organise guided foraging and mushrooming trips from time to time, as well as wildlife spotting ones and childrens' activities. They also hold craft fairs and the like on bank holiday weekends. As well as the main visitor centre there are also food stands available at peak times, we always stop off for dinky donuts at the end of our walk, and the coffee shop near the lake offers free lollipops. I have even seen donkey rides there sometimes at weekends! I have never reviewed a place more deserving of five stars. Everytime I want to have a grumble about council tax I remind myself that at least we have this beautiful park from it. Parking is £3.50 for the day, and you have to enter your registration at the machines. read more

Coombe is a lovely massive park on the outskirts of Coventry. It has a carpark and a forest and you can walk round the grounds. The grounds are lovely and it is quite large, it's great on a summers day for taking the kids or the animals for a play. It's very popular and in the summer there are many people up there. read more

Many walks around the grounds taking the different paths, some short some long. Food at the on site cafe is also good. Play areas for the children very good and modern. Negative aspect is cost to park and the stupid payment machines leaving you queuing longer than your walking around! read more

Very good. Went on a Bank Holiday so it was very busy initially but it was very quiet in the woods. Plenty of parking though. It's £3.70 to park which isn't too bad as that's for all day. There's plenty of space to walk in the woods, fields to play on, some good adventure stuff and nice bird hide. read more

There is a fantastic play area for the kids in the woods as well as a lake where you can feed the ducks and the fishes. Coombe Park is a beautiful place to take a walk on a summer or winters day! My husband and I stayed in the hotel after our wedding and had a fab picnic in the park with lots of friends the next day, its gorgeous. There was also an NSPCC Big Bike Ride there a couple of years back which was great. There is something for everyone there, with a play place for the kids, rambling wooded areas, and formal Japanese gardens and the like. There is ample parking at a reasonable price, and there are café and toilet facilities near the entrance of the park. Its well located about 7 or so miles from the town centre and a great place for families to spend some time together. read more

The country park has lots of walks you can take and even on a busy summers day you can find a quiet spot for a picnic. There is a visitors centre on site and also a cafe/shop. The childrens play area is well equipped and a good size. Best part is it is free to get in you just need to pay for parking which is pretty reasonable. Highly recommended for a day out. read more

Coombe abbey is lovely for all ages, all groups (friends, family, couple) at all times of the year. The grounds are fabulous and it is nice to have a place like this not far from the city centre to escape to. It is centred about the old abbey which is now a hotel. When I have been there have always been weddings held there so havent had chance to see inside or enjoy the restaurant but have heard nothing but good things about these aspects of it. It is enjoyable for relaxing strolls, jogging and for the nature. There are lakes to walk around and great carved statues to spot as you explore. There is also a adventure playground with ropes and tyres if you do hapen to be there with children - I just hope they aren't scared of heights! There is a visitors centre with cafe and git shop. The staff are very helpful and will tell you exactly what you want to know and even suggest things as they seem to know every inch of the park. I especially enjoy the mini donughut van outside on the path! Parking is £3.50 for the whole day and it helps to read the instructions of the order to sort it all out in! read more

This is a great way to spend a sunny day. Lovely park and woodland walks (wheelchair accessible) and there is a place to birdwatch. There are two great play areas for children of different ages, there is a lovely cafe and gift shop. I'm a wheelchair user and I love spending time with my family here and take my camera to take some brilliant pictures of the animals and birds you can see as well as the park itself. read more

This is an amazing country park just outside Coventry, it's an amazing place to go for walks in summer or even the winter. There are many fields you can walk through and take the dog for a walk. There are also a lot of gift places and food places to have some lunch and in the summer the lovely walk and fields enable you to take a picnic with you. read more

went to coombe abbey country park this summer gone on a day out with the kids. I just loved it and the kids had so much fun. We had a bbq there. The kids just enjoyed the lots of space and freedom. The grounds were well maintained and the greenery was marvellous. Used the toilet facilities nad even though they were not constantly tended to during the time we were there, they did look failry looked after. I think more could be done though, as in have constant cleaners available. I would however recommend people to go there as it is a very friendly place. read more
