Located on Mucklows Hill, heading into Halesowen, Leasowes Park is a hidden gem, perfect for a lazy weekend stroll with friends, children or my personal favourite the dog.
Covering 143 acres, the park is a huge piece of land, stretching over Halesowen Golf Club along its way. Depending on which way you enter, you may be greeted by a children's playground, perfect for children under the age of 10, with a ice cream van ALWAYS opposite it, without fail.
As you delve deeper into the woods, you can immediately see why this would be a dogs paradise. Several streams and hills allow the opportunity to explore the landscape or even just take int he beauty of the forest; either way it really is something special.
I must admit, I've been to Leasowes countless times with my eleven year old Lab and we both still love it as much as we did the first time we visited.
The only slight downside could be getting back. If you were to take your dog and he was to jump in a stream of five, I always make sure I take a trusty towel to get him back in the car, to save all hell breaking lose.
Regardless of this, Leasowes Park is a fascinating piece of woodland and one definitely worth a visit. read more
