I have very good memories from the time I used to live next to this park when Selly Park was my temporary residence for a while. As an All Pair responsible for a five years old child, I thought nothing would be better for the child than spend some quality time there. I just needed a good weather and 2 minutes walking to reach the park. It's is like having your own huge backyard. The play area is always packed which means it is a very popular park among the kids, and of course that some ice cream and ducks and geese to feed also help them being busy. Cycling at Cannon Hill park is probably my favourite activity. There are so much to be explored not just at the cycle route and you can even have a good view of Birmingham skyline from some parts of this park. All you need is being courageous enough to explore more routes! In the summer it is very popular, especially now with an art centre like MAC placed on it. I have visited Cannon Hill park regularly, even not being an all pair anymore, because this is a space that keeps nature and culture in harmony and it's just easy to get there from the city centre or even from where I live. Cannon Hill Park is a green flag award one, which pretty much means being a kind of excellence in green area in England.

One of the most beautiful park in city. I love going here throughout the year. Very relaxing and great for walks, jogging, running and biking. Summer time theres fan fares and people going picnics, very nice place for family and day out. The MAC is right next to the park, so can go check out art works and sit in the cafe.Highly recommend to go anytime of the year.

Fantastic park, with little things that make a great backdrop. I chose the park to shoot some personal wedding pics of this couple. http://www.robfarrellphotography.co.uk/wedding-photographer-birmingham-blog/weddings-engagement-photographer-birmingham/43-bronya-and-ash-a-vintage-wedding

I've known this park since I was a kid and little seems to have changed within it. The place is really huge. A family could easily spend most of a day wandering around it. There are two lakes with a variety of water fowl living on them and a somewhat dilapidated model of the Elan Valley reservoir system. they also have peddle boats on the water which is fun in the summer and the sun glisten's down upon you. Great just to float I believe that somewhere there's the site of a blade mill that used to be working in the 17th century. Pretty trees, flowers, squirrels, and much more to see. There were signs to a nature centre, playgrounds, outdoor theatre and an exhibition. At the centre is the MAC (MIdlands Arts Centre) which has an excellent programme of events throughout the year and a big coffee shop. Cannon Hill is definitely worth a visit.

The Park with the MAC hold a lot of memories for us

I love this place. I've been going there since 1975 when I went to see a play with colleague from Holte School. I then took a friend a few weeks later and she commented on the lack of black people considering we were in Birmingham. Over the years I've attended various one_ off and regular events in the park and the MAC. Canon Hill Writers Group every Thursday, Crafts Fairs, Vasaiki, Eid, Derek Walcott RIP, Toni Morrison RIP, Wirld Mental Health Day, Black Women and Domestic Violence Conference to name a few events I attended, organised here. I took my daughter to the park and MAC and years later her own children. While the MAC was being refurbished Canon Hill Writers moved and have never returned. I miss Thursdays there because I used to spend the whole day: the exhibitions, meals, writing in the park, watching the ducks, being creative, attending writers group, time in the bar. There's something for everyone and the last time I went there it was to see a World Mental Health Exhibition. After a hectic week at Arts All Over the Place a walk through the park, drink and food in the bar was bliss.

£5.40 each well spent on the Crazy Golf. My first time crazy golfing and we went on the harder hillier black course. Took about an hour as we took a few shots on a few of the holes. Lowest I managed as 2 shots and my partner and rival fluked two holes in one!! We managed to find the water hazards a couple of times especially on Hole 11 but there are some bets to fish them out with. I came away with a score of 71 but beaten by a score of 62. I would go again!!

Moseley Park and Pool kind of reminds of this as its very easy to miss it due to the fact it's tucked away down a tiny path that runs between O'Neills and Dixons and you need to be a key holder to gain entry to this gem. This park is a calm haven amongst the hustle and bustle of city living. I love coming here in the summer for a picnic as its a private park there is plenty of space to sit and it's always tidy and well maintained. To become a key holder for a year you need to head to Moseley Travel and pay £40. Well worth chipping in with friends/ housemates. If you'd like to try before you buy then there are free open days or visit one various festivals held here such as Moseley Folk.

Is a private park for keyholders only. Annual membership is not expensive though at £40. This is a fabulous facility that I've used over the years. Sadly, these days I feel it's under used. I remember when each weekend there was something going on, on the water. These days, however, to see a single boat on the lake is a rarity. That said, it's home to The Midland Sailing Club and Sea Cadet Centre and The Birmingham Rowing Club. It's still one of my favourite places to relax. The council and ranger service do a great job with its upkeep. It's also a popular place for fishing. It's a stones throw from Birmingham city centre and parking is free. It could do with a cafe actually within the reservoir but there is one just at the entrance.

I often walk down the one side of the lakes, just to be envious of the humongous houses and land that people own. I usually imagine celebrities to live in some of the places, but I'm probably building my hopes up a little too much! I've also been to the Lakes during December when they are completely frozen over. It's a truly magical sight, with the pathways and trees coated in a white blanket. Earlswood Lakes is an amazing place to visit, whether it be in the summer or the winter.
