We purchased a Mazda from Cooley. The purchase experience was OK in that there was no hard sell, which I liked; there was really no sales pitch at all which I did not mind though it was a little unusual. There was no negotiation on the price; it was what it was, take it or leave it. In our case it was reasonably priced, so that was fine, but if you are shopping here then you should know market pricing, know your desired deal and be prepared to either sign or walk away. One thing I find with car salesman lately, this is not unique to Cooley, is that they are more focused on, and seem more well-versed in, the finance side of the deal than they do being informed about the actual products they are selling. I remember when car salesman couldn't wait to explain all the features of whatever vehicle I was looking at. That just doesn't seem to happen anymore.... Overall, the sales process here was acceptable. The Service experience, however, is not acceptable. Our Mazda came with 'free lifetime New York State inspections'- both a perk and a fishing expedition,obviously. Communication with a service advisor is good,if not a bit much, but certainly better than no communication. However, it is the actual service which is the problem,to wit, we brought our Mazda in for one of the free annual New York State inspections as well as an oil and filter change with tire rotation, which were part of the purchase agreement. During the service appointment, I received a video and pics sent by text detailing that replacement of the.....wait for it.....cabin air filter must be done! To be fair, the cabin air filter shown did look beat up; not only was it obviously stained with rodent urine but it had a cigarette butt as well as various other debris and detritus atop it. I declined the $70 service, partly because it takes seconds to do and the filter itself costs only about $15. So the tech reinstalled the dirty air filter, which must've taken some effort to balance the cigarette butt and other detritus atop the filter while doing so.... It's astounding and disappointing that he would not have simply tipped it into the trashcan as he walked by on his way to reinstall it, but, apparently, that would've require too much effort- and pride. Here's the other reason I declined that particular service- presumably, this air filter was changed when we pulled off the lot not quite one full year prior to the date of service. I know that it had not been because the date/manufacturer code on the cabin air filter reflected that it was the factory original- from Japan, when I removed myself after arriving home from the dealer. So, either the full vehicle preparation was not done when we had driven off the lot after purchasing the car, or the air filter I was shown did not actually come from our vehicle. One or the other is the case, neither of which inspire confidence- or trust... Speaking of which, the oil and filter change. I have been performing my own vehicle maintenance and repairs for 40+ years now; I do so according to shop manuals for any vehicle or piece of equipment I own. So, it was a little surprising to find that the oil sump on our Mazda was overfilled by just about 3/4 of a liter. I corrected this condition myself. Additionally, before taking it in for service the interior of the car had been cleared of personal effects and cleaned so it came as a shock when I noted a substance on the rear leather seats which I was only able to remove using Saddlesoap with a damp, soft cloth. Again, Cooley missed an opportunity to inspire confidence and trust. Additionally there were a few scuffs on the front fender which are not evident in the walk around video I took when dropping the vehicle off. It was not enough damage to run through a body shop and Mazda paint does seem particularly delicate but again we are back to confidence and trust.... Somebody at the dealership had messaged asking me to review my service experience for their website. I advised that, given our experience, they would probably want to discuss it with me first before I did so... There was no follow up from Cooley at all. So here we are telling you, dear reader, that the service department is one star. At best. I understand this is a Mazda dealership, not a luxury car dealer, but there should be a certain standard for customer service which is maintained. We did not experience that, rather, our experience thoroughly failed to inspire either confidence or trust in the service department which I would advise to avoid. read more

The management of this dealership should truly terminate their service rep team. I lived a nightmare for 3+ months with service from November 2022 - Feb 2023 - it has taken me this long to organize my facts & thoughts - and warn others. My VW Atlas Sport was infested with rodent damage from tip to tail, including the ceiling and floor carpets. (the car was NOT purchased from Cooley ). When first brought to Cooley - I inquired with them about a rental. I was told there was a huge Wait List, and to keep checking back. I did - every 2 weeks. Several Weeks later, the dealership where I purchased the car called and Cooley told Seller Cooley never offers a rental on warranty work. Ever. So they lied to me. Strike One. Cooley stated they had to wait on a Headliner to come in - which took over 3 months. I checked with an outside Volkswagon Dealer who stated this could be true, so I'll give them that one. Upon picking up my car in early February - mind you - I LOVED this car from day one ( and it was my overall 5th VW) - I asked to look it over before I made final payment ( the deductible). Sue & Jim - 2 Service Reps looked at me like I had 2 heads and asked for their SSN... I looked over the car- not only was it filthy on the outside ( seriously - not even a courtesy wash?), it was filthy on the inside with dust & dirt. I looked up under the driver and passenger dashboard area and there was white/grey "Stuffing" coming out. The driver running board was missing some reflective pieces - "that has nothing to do with us" is what I was told. Strike Two. When I asked Sue in Service about this- She was curt, dismissive and firmly stated "That's just how it is". I was in tears and there was absolutely no reassurance or empathy. Strike Three. I will never, ever recommend this dealership - and have already reached out to Volkswagon Corporation to give them a heads up on one of their dealers. My VW Atlas sport was in the shop longer than I had it - I had not even made a 3rd payment with the damage came to light. Just wasted my 3rd trip to Cooley. I went twice to make sure all warranty information was correct, and in their system. The woman at the service desk was under the illusion that she was doing me a favor by being there with her pompous attitude. "If you bought your car here we would save the warranty information, but you didn't." Someone should inform her that she's just an employee, and a horrible one at that! I'm hoping a legacy job. Why else would management allow so many reviews saying exactly what I'm saying? Horrible service reps! BTW, You should've looked. "0" STARS!!!! Terrible VW service at this dealership. My car started fine when I left it to get the A/C serviced. The car would not start when I picked it up. The service technician tried to tell me that the battery needed replacing due to the hot weather. Service somehow drained the battery and wouldn't own up to it. The tech had to jump the car...I get up this morning and my car won't start. This is the second incident I've had with this dealership. If 0 stars was an option I'd review at that... My recent experience at Cooley Motors was easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would avoid going here at any and all costs. -I called in a service appointment request on Fri the 21st. -Per their request I dropped off the car on Wed the 26th first thing in the morning for a 2hr service. -I called 4.5hrs later and got an answering machine. -I received a call back 35 mins later stating "I was told something about your car by the service supervisor but I forgot because I've had a few calls, I'll have him call you." -This continues on with me calling 3 more times up until 4:45 when I finally got the services manager on the phone who told me he had a few items on my car to discuss and asked if he could call back in 2 minutes when he had my work sheet. NO CALL -5:15 PM now 15 minutes before close I asked if I could have my car back. They told me to come in (no other info) I went to the dealership and was told they couldn't do the recall they stated they were going to because my fuel level was high (no call anytime during the 9hrs for me to come and drive it to waste some fuel). The major issue I was experiencing (fuel door not opening) was no fixed even though I called asking for that part to be replaced and set an appointment so they could get parts in and ready. The only item they did do was replace my key fob battery. Now I'm driving with no ability to refuel, quickly running out of gas and their answer was we will call in the part FIRST thing in the AM on the 27th. They stated I would receive a call that morning and even re confirmed my phone number. It is now Saturday the 29th and I have yet to receive a call. Cooley service department is awful. Please don't use. They told me certain maintenance was "urgent" but when I looked in my owners manual, it stated it did not need to be done unless the vehicle was submerged in water. I went to another Mazda dealer, and they collaborated that it was not an urgent matter at all sometimes recommended, I feel the service department manipulates and misrepresents in order to make money. Got a new Mazda CX-30 AWD 3 months ago and have traction only on front. Few days ago got 5 yellow lights on board and when I called service dept. 12/23rd they said I'm ok to drive it as long are no red lights. They gave me an appointment for tomorrow 12/28. This morning got a red light for breaks so couldn't go to work and I called dealership. They said to call Mazda because they can't help today. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! This review is purely for a sales department experience. Note- 4 stars is probably as high as I would ever ever go for a dealership and rarely do I go into one that is worth that rating. Personally I think all dealerships are a bit slimy, so you have to be a smart consumer going in otherwise you are going to get screwed. Review- We went into Cooley for a test drive. Salesperson was very meh. He argued with us about things we observed, and he was just kinda douchey. He came on both test drives and pretty much babbled the whole time. I set up an appointment with Santiago and from the day I set up the appointment he told me, "At the end of the day, I'm gonna go to work for you and do what I can to get you in a new car. Another VW dealership fixed the problem with no issue, so the Cooley techs just didn't know what they were doing. I had my 10K service at Cooley and they'd forgotten to reset the "Service Now!" alert so I had to go back. Oops! It was a bit of a drive for me and I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I decided I would have the "Volk-L" Bluetooth phone system installed in my car, even though I hate talking to people on the phone. I made an appointment and reserved a loaner car with them. With German promptness I arrived at the dealership first thing in the morning. They informed that they did not have a loaner car for me. Oops! They arranged a rental car which I had to wait for, and then sent me on my way. Later in the day they called to inform me that they'd forgotten to reserve the Volk-L part for me and accidentally installed it in someone else's car. There was now no Bluetooth phone system to install in my car. Oops! They said they'd ordered a new part, but would have to keep my car an additional day. The next day I called to check in. They transferred me to someone. She transferred me to someone. He transferred me to someone. He transferred me to someone else. I kept asking the same question: "Just wanted to know when I can come and pick up my car." Person #4 put me on hold. Eventually Person #4 returned to the phone and told me to come on down! It'd be ready when I got there. I came on down. It wasn't ready - because the part was broken and they couldn't get it to work. Oops! I should add that despite the baffling incompetence they were very, very cheerful. Had they offered me some kind of apology in the form of a discount, I might have given them another chance. But they didn't, so I took advantage of their free WiFi to look for another dealership. Your mileage may vary, but don't be surprised if it doesn't. read more

Incredibly unhappy with this place. With an office near Cooley, it was convenient to drop off the car for the day and have general service performed on my VW. No problems there. It was when another issue popped up (non-standard service) that my relationship with Cooley turned into a month-long fiasco. I dropped my car off and was told that there was an issue with a door sensor and that I'd have to bring it back the following week. I brought it back and was told that they weren't sure what was going on and a service manager would have to look at it. The next day, I dropped off the car, and I was told at the end of the day that the manager wasn't available that day and that a traveling service rep would be in the following week to look at the car. Same story for four different visits. On one day, I got to the car and someone had reclined the passenger seat the entire way back as if they had napped in it. When I picked up my car the fourth and final time, there was a light - that had never been on before - glowing on the dash indicating a new issue! I was incensed and the maintenance department claimed the light had always been on. I relayed the story to a high-level employee at my place of work, and he relayed a similar story about his experience with the service department. I've had many cars (I love cars), and I've been to many service departments. Never have I dealt with such unprofessionalism, laziness, and dishonesty. I will never return to Cooley. I'm trekking to the next town over for VW service after this experience. (By the way...the other VW dealer/service department found and fixed the issue in a day.) read more

Look at the pictures documenting their growth at this location over decades. First ones show old Beetles and busses. Then the building gets enlarged twice. The vehicle lot isn't the most spacious and elegant I've seen but they're making do with the land they have and keeping their costs down. I respect that. How'd they do? First visit. Scheduled warranty maintenance on VW. Great communication. Timely. Friendly. All great. Second visit. Warranty recall on VW. Same great experience. Beat estimated completion by 3 hours. I'm sold. I have not bought a car here. So I cant speak on that. This dealership is maybe 8 minutes from my house, so I bring my Jetta here for service. Greg and Kelsey are by far the best service people I have dealt with at any dealership. They always find away to squeeze me in, even if its for a simple oil change. Or took 10% off my bill when I didn't have a coupon. They try to go out of their way when and where they can, so be nice to them, and don't be afraid to ask for a discount. read more

I just got back from checking out a used car at Cooley Volkswagen Mazda. Despite it showing up in a search on three national websites and the dealer's own website as "Certified Used" (which gives you a guarantee of 150 point inspection and extra limited powertrain warranty of 7 years/100000 miles), right when we're about to make a deal on the final price and sign papers, they say "Oh, by the way, this model is NOT able to be certified - it's a Mazdaspeed 3, and they aren't actually able to be certified by Mazda, and if it WAS certified, it'd be more expensive, so this is a great price". When questioned about the fact that all the websites, including their own, showed it as certified in giant clear type, and when we pointed out that they had a bright yellow sticker on the windshield that said "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED!!!", we were told "*shrug* *mumble internet mumble shrug*." by "Mike" the "manager" and John the sales rep. Whiskey Tango FOXTROT?! Without the certified warranty, this particular car would only have 13000 more miles left on the original limited one. I'm not sure if they are lying, and thinking they're being cute, or if they're really REALLY stupid. Case in point: The only thing the national Mazda site specifies about certified pre-owned exclusions for the Mazdaspeed 3 was on a special rate for financing that we weren't interested in and had never asked about. The exclusion, clearly spelled out on the national Mazda USA site had nothing to do with a Mazdaspeed3 model being, as "Mike" claimed, "not certifiable, and would not be eligible for a certified pre-owned warranty". When shown the site and info, he continued to stonewall. When confronted with the fact that *they themselves labeled it ON THE CAR as Certified Pre-Owned, with a big bright sticker on the front windshield*, he stonewalled. And continued to insist that there was no way that it could be certified, as it was "policy". Talk about making a bad impression: either Cooley's management is really shady and a bunch of lying deceitful creeps trying their best to rip people off with bait & switch and mendacity, or they're blithering morons who can't read English from their own national organization. I took in my 2011 Mazda 2 because it was jumping when driving. It didn't matter what gear I was in. It would randomly hesitate. I could be on the highway or in city traffic and the car would lurch. I did not have a check engine light on. My complaint was that the vehicle seems as though it was starving for fuel or air. This is in the service paperwork at the time of drop-off. The shop had my car for 2.5 hours while I waited. I was told by the service coordinator that they couldn't find any issue. Nor could they replicate it. Then she proceeded to tell me that there was no history available for my car there. I told her that All of my vehicles get regularly serviced by a friend over the last 20 years. He is an ASE certified master technician for a local Adirondack Tire. I told her that I did bring in my car the last time I had a check engine light on. I haven't had any issues in over 4 years. The car has ran beautifully. I contested that there was certainly an issue. I had asked if they used a portable scanner while driving the vehicle. That would freeze frame when something was out of normal operation. She then told me "I know you have knowledge of vehicles but we have Mazda certified trained techs here, they can't replicate the issue!" As if I was imagining the issue and wanted to waste time and money. I told her "Hence why I brought the vehicle here!" I certainly thought that they (Cooley)could figure it out. She then got the service manager. He repeated all she just said. I said the issue is there and I brought a fistful of money to fix it. He was nice enough to not charge me for not figuring it out. I was left with " until your car breaks down and theres a check engine light to diagnose we really can't help you here". I left saying this is outrageous. You basically don't want to stop, figure it out and fix the issue now. Instead wait till theres possibly further damage? I couldn't believe this! The next day I took my car to my friend with Adirondack Tire. He drove the car and felt exactly what I had described. He said it was definitely fuel delivery. Then he pulled all the spark plugs. There was rust on all the plugs. There was water in my gas tank. He found a bad gas cap was to blame. He figured it out in less than a half hour. I guess that Cooley is not the best place to bring your vehicle for service. I actually thought it was. I am very disappointed. read more

well, their work was for Mazdaspeed3 and CX-5.' I made an oil and coolant change appointment for RX7 in this month, their poor work and customer service were happened. They made me wait for 5 hours at waiting room (they told me it would not take a long time for just oil and coolant change). They also knew I was coming with RX7, they should have had the oil also, and coolant leaks! I'm really done with Cooley, I will go to another Mazda dealer to do oil change and other maintenance (still under 3 year/36,000 warranty). When the warranty expires, I will go to Larry's Foreign Auto services and I will not purchase another Mazda car from Cooley (I'm waiting for 2020 RX9) unless they improve their customer services and mechanic. DONE. Update They have been improved customer service. The lady who makes appointments and takes care of service desk is really good. I can give her 5 stars. read more

This review is for Greg in the service department. He's really one of the best out there. He's not pushy about talking you into something you don't need but will let you know how important the fix is and how soon it needs to be done. I had a few items that needed to be addressed. This was the first time since purchasing my Jetta in 2006 that I would need to invest some money into her. Greg has a friendly demeanor, is very helpful and gets the job done. Even if you've lost hope in bringing your car to a dealership, go see Greg; he'll restore your hope. Also, the mechanic, Andrew, did a great job installing rear coil springs. The sales manager I think his name was Mat and this other salesman had the worst attitude. We spent 5 hours and after all those hours, they told us we r not approved with two incomes contained. Went to Cooley 10/18/2018 searching for a used car. Sales person, John, older, thin, with glasses did not introduce himself to me. Started to hand the keys to my adult son for the test drive, when he knew I was the buyer! I am female, age 69. Showed me how the cargo area cover stays up. When we returned he asked if he should call me or me son saying, " some people (women?) don't like to bother with the specifics." Retire this dinosaur if you wish to sell autos to women. read more

I worked with Huffy Yuret, and ended up purchasing a 2015 Mazda3 i Sport. I got to be 100% honest, I was really only interested in a used car. But as they say, "they made me an offer I couldn't refused." With the rebates and discount, the new Mazda3 was really quite close to a used car. Never once was I pressured and found the experience to be very close to 100% perfect. Years ago, I sold cars and found Huffy to understand the business very well and truly want to help his customers out. He even drove out to my house to pick me up! Another plus, Cooley was able to get me a better interest rate than my credit union so my payment was lower than my estimate! read more

I took my car to Cooley in September to have the brakes, water pump and timing belt changed. When I dropped my car off, the car's key fob was working normally and without any issue. However, when I picked the car up, the car's key fob wasn't working at all. I ended up bring the car back to Cooley a few days later to have someone try and figure out why the key fob wasn't working. No one could tell me why the key fob had stopped working, but someone did try to sell me a new key fob at a cost of $300. Overall, my experience here was horrible. I dropped my car off with a working key fob, and the car should have been returned to me with the same working key fob. The fact that it was not is unacceptable. Someone at Cooley obviously broke my key fob while working on my car, and Cooley should have fixed it. At this point, I'm stuck with a broken key fob because I took my car in for service here. read more

Due to previous purchases from Cooley in the past, we took a quote from a different dealership to Cooley, where they agreed to match the quote. Salesman Dan Durivage was excellent, worked out the details, picked the car and color and agreed to pickup the next business day. When reviewing all the paperwork to sign on the day of pickup, it was noticed the monthly payment was $50 more than agreed upon. Finance person was apologetic, but stated he didn't realize the payment price would be an issue (because apparently everyone has an extra $600 a year they don't care about). He then brought in the GM, who was arrogant and rude, comparing Mazda's quality to that of a BMW or Mercedes, when I pointed out that for a 3 year lease, the "quality" of the car shouldn't be a huge factor, he didn't have much to say. He attempted to push a different car on us, that we already advised we were not interested in and he stated that we were "beating him up over $5-$10", which I had to remind him was in fact $50 not $5. Ultimately we left, without our down payment, because he claimed it had already been deposited and we could receive a check the next day, which was also false as now they are claiming 10 business days. In discussing our major distaste for the practices of Cooley, numerous people have stated the same sentiment, and everyone has agreed that the GM is extremely rude, unprofessional and even have stated he is the reason dealerships get their bad reputation. read more

I do not recommend this dealership to anyone who wants to weigh their options. My wife and I went to the Mazda dealership without an appointment to test drive a car, and the sales team was very accommodating. However, after the test drive, things started to take a turn. After we discussed prices and payment (as a side note: the sales rep made a comment that "we can't hide the money," which I thought was peculiar) , my wife and I wanted to take a day to think about the purchase - this is not some impulse buy. The sales rep started to real pushy and tried to guilt trip us into buying the car right then and there. Ultimately, we went with a different dealership, and when we informed the Cooley sales rep of this. He hung up on us. His "manager" then called (I put this in quotes because I cannot confirm that was who called) stating that there was a weekend deal and would give us another $500 off of their offer price. When I refused, he then offered to take off $750, which still didn't match our other offer. Even if they did match, I wouldn't want to deal with these people anymore. So, if you are shopping around and want to consider your options before buying, I do not recommend this dealership. read more

i was hesitant about giving a car dealership 5 stars but really, i have had a fantastic experience here. i would most certainly recommend anyone to come here for a car (if they wanted a mazda or a vw) here is how it went: my jag broke the rear driver's side ball joint. again. the friday before last. so mis and i went car shopping as i finally reached the point of not liking pouring money into a car more than i loved driving a car. we went to Northway Toyota first, our sales rep was nice and not too pushy but after trying the rav4 (didn't like it. the car was boring.) and sitting in the uber-cool FJ cruiser. (way too boxy, much less cool on the inside than on the out) and wanting to try the bug, it wouldn't start, battery was dead. so we went on... i had searched online for a vehicle and found a really good deal at Martin Neemer for a honda element so we decided to go there next to try it out. turns out the owner took it home with him. the rep was apologetic about it but still, a car they listed online was not on the lot. i was irritated. next we went to keeler, the mini dealership they didn't even acknowledge us until we went and said hello. i loved the mini but they didn't have any very good deals so we went to the honda part. there i tried an element (orange) and it was fine but the rep was really over the top and off-putting. so we decided to call it a day. missy's husband adam had looked online and found some good deals on bugs at Cooley in East Greenbush tho so we decided to swing by on our way back. they were closed when we got there but we still walked around looking for the green one he had found online. out back we found it, it was unlocked so we got in and checked it out. i was instantly in love. as we were walking back to the car, a young man came out and asked if he could help us. he was willing to go over information even tho it was a friday and they had closed 30 minutes earlier. i let him off the hook and said that i was interested but would come back monday. to make this long story short, they gave me a great deal on it, less than the listed price on bluebook.com, they gave me money for the tradein on the jag, they gave me a loaner until the bug (that they had just gotten in) was ready for me. and they were Very friendly and helpful the entire time. this is the place to go for good service. to read more

There really wasn't even a spot to park our own car as there were over 250 used vehicles parked in rows all over the side lot - we though wow! We should have just come here first - nobody else had this many used cars and we had been up both rt50 and rt5! However because there was so many we did have to find a salesman to help even locate what was in our price range. His name was Dan and at first he was very nice kinda funny and sarcastic but so are we and he seemed to get that we were looking for a great deal so he went through the inventory by price to see what they had for us. While we were in at his desk this man comes out of the back screaming at the top of his lungs "I don't give a fux what he says - he's not gonna get the 1.9%, tell him to go someplace else!" Me and my husband looked at each other and then at Dan who quietly says that's our Sales Manager. Really? No wonder there are no customers in here if that's how he acts! Not only that but doesn't the lender determine the APR?? NOT HERE!! We tried to not let his outburst effect us and continued on in finding a car that suited my husband as well as our budget. We decided upon a 2011 Kia Forte Ex Hatchback with only 36,000 miles that was obviously a lease turn in and was in very good shape just needed new tires. They were asking just less than $14,000 - and we figured with our trade (the GTI) we would be right in our financial comfort zone. Dan indicated that we probably wouldn't get much for our trade maybe $500 (whoa!) so we went home and sold it to our neighbor for $2000. We needed my mother-in-law to cosign in order to get a lower APR because a few years back my husband had filed for bankruptcy and we told them this - also indicating that she is also 70yrs old and disabled so we really didn't want to drag her around more than necessary. At no time did we discuss the actual price of the car as I figured they would wait to run the numbers against the credit and we would go from there. The three of us went to Cooley early the next morning to get the ball rolling. We were in the showroom not more than 5 minutes before the Sales Manager again screaming loudly says " don't give a fux if this guy's cousin owns a Ford Dealership you tell him to go sell his pos to him them! I will not buy his truck he can shove it up his ass!" Ok now we are like this guy cannot be for real... this is the worst impression to give your customers (yet again, hardly any to be found) So as my mother-in-law and husband filled out the credit application I asked Dan - about negotiating the price of the car. He looked at me straight faced and said well you see we can't go any lower than what we are asking because I have to take it to Mavis Discount Tire and get all new tires and brakes put on it - WHAT? I said but you have a service department.. his reply was well they are too busy right now (with what/who? - this place is empty!) I may not be the smartest person - but I am far from stupid... Why on earth would a dealership pay retail for tires and brakes and how exactly is this my problem?? They would have to make the car able to pass NYS inspection no matter who they sold the car too. Next they tell us we have to comeback later so they have time to get the car repaired and the paperwork finished. I am still waiting for a number - and getting a really bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. Since my husband had to get to work I later returned with my mother-in-law to "seal the deal". Their proposed "great" interest rate (5.1%-not) and payment was much higher than I had expected and at 72 months - to boot! By the time I convinced myself that we could handle the extra $30 per month the finance manager (Miles) takes back the worksheet and was like oops! I accidentally handed you the wrong one - here's the right figures - now we are up to $310 a month for 72 months. I looked at him and said point blank - you must be kidding me right??!! The entire time they kept giving me the price with an aftermarket warranty from Allstate - I asked him to remove the extras and just let me see the price of the loan - wasn't happening.. Even though in fine print on the bottom and across the top the page stated "base payment with minus options $249" - I just couldn't get him to discuss that with me. I looked at my mother-in-law and we both realized we were getting no place. I told him we would check into a lease instead. Then to insult us further he said well good luck with that with your credit and they don't allow cosigners on leases (lie)! Guess what? I was searching for a certified, pre-owned GTI, and stumbled across one at Cooley Motors Volkswagen. I went to take a look at it, and loved it instantly. I was equally impressed by the service I received, especially from my salesperson-Olga. I cannot recommend her enough! Since the vehicle was a pre-owned GTI, it had to be tidied up and a few parts replaced, but Olga made sure that everything was perfect by the time it came to sign the papers. If I could give this dealer negative stars I would. I have never been so insulted or treated so rudely than by these "professionals." DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!! They are only looking out for their bottom line and do not care about their customers once they have purchased a car. Untrustworthy people from the Finance manager on down. Ran my credit against my wishes and without my permission. I actually got a good deal on my car and I was happy until I saw that they ran my credit. I already had a loan before even walking through their doors but I was told by their salesman it was required of me to fill out a credit app( he took my info over the phone) but they wont run my credit he would just forward the info to my credit union since I was already approved . The most upsetting part of all this was when I called to complain I was told " what do you expect us to do now? What do you want a $100 bucks or something? I mean what do you expect us to do"? No apology of any kind or concern of what happend. They do offer good prices but much like every other dealership they are sleazy sales people and after the sale dont care about their customers . I did eventually speak to a higher up who seemed more apologetic which I appreacited but the damage is unfixable . I have text messages from my salesman proving I specifically told them not to run my credit again and he said they wouldn't. This dealership has been around a long time but my guess is not because of happy customers but more so people are always gonna have a need for a vehicle. I brought my 2012 CX-9 in for service. There is water leaking out of a floor vent in the passenger side whenever I make a left turn. They supposedly took care of the problem. Drive the car home and still water is coming out of the vent. Called them to explain that I was still having the same problem and was told to just drive it for a week and it should stop. Of course that didn't solve the problem so I brought the car back a 2nd time. Again they said the car is fixed now we found a stick in the drain for condensation... I take the car home and after the AC is on for a short time water continues to leak... the carpet is completely soaked and I'm worried about mildew or mold. I call the service department and explain to them the inconvenience of now having to bring the car back a 3rd time for what should have been fixed correctly to begin with. Both my wife and I work and we have to shuttle toddlers back and forth to pre-school on top of working different shifts in an operating room. The very rude and unsympathetic service employee I was speaking to grew tired of me explaining my situation to him and said " we are done here" and hangs up the phone on me. I have never been treated so poorly by a "service department" in my life.... I have been a long time customer of Cooley Mazda but I will never do business with them again... While my experience with cars bought from here has had a few bumps in the road the staff , namely Zack in service and Dan Carl in sales, are the best. I've bought two cars here and have had issues with my Mazda CX-9. It had to go in multiple times for repair. Once for a major issue, which was repaired wrong by a technician. Zack and the management staff here were very apologetic and fixed the issue as well as the person who caused it. While mistakes are annoying it's nice to know that Cooley Mazda VW is willing to admit and make things right. I will return and I will buy from them again. read more

I purchased a used 2011 Toyota 4Runner from Cooley in the past few months that was lifted previously and the lift is fairly obvious. When I addressed the issue/ lift directly with the "manager", he stated this was a lift that was done at the factory and for some reason I bought it; he even added to it that this was a "trail edition" and this particular vehicle is not. I have since brought the vehicle to a Toyota dealership in Latham and I have been served with a 6300 dollar bill to fix all of the issues around the lift that is all aftermarket and was not maintained properly and Cooley has successfully dumped their mistake in to my lap. After purchasing my Mazda in mid May I was incredibly surprised as to how smoothly the purchase, insurance changes, plate changes etc. went. Little to my dismay 3 months later after the purchase, I received a second notice from my insurance provider stating I needed to provide a bill of sale copy and the window sticker for a NY State MANDATORY law. According to my insurance provider, the dealership provided a copy of the bill of sale, but did NOT send a copy of the window sticker which was the proper documentation needed in order to satisfy the state law requirements. After communicating with the insurance provider they suggested I contact the dealership since they were not able to get any feed back from them. I spoke with a representative who stated that I was provided with this documentation and that they no longer had it on file! He then placed blame with me saying I should have kept all copies of the documents provided. I proceeded to tell him that I am 100% positive that the window sticker WAS NOT provided. Needless to say, instead of accommodating me or trying to help with the proper documentation which, should be standard practice considering this documentation is mandatory due to state law, they were unable to help me. Now I have to make an appointment to have my car inspected on my own time due to the dealership being lazy, incompetent and unwilling to provide the proper documentation mandatory by state law...awesome, thanks guys for your help!
