Super cute cozy igloo winter wonderland experience!…read more We reserved an igloo for a nice dinner after Thanksgiving and it was a nice relaxing evening after the busy holiday. I went with one of their speciality cocktail and for we shared the following: Bruschetta Spinach dip Chicken flatbread Loved having a private space and we were plenty warm! Service was polite and came often to check in with us. Highly recommend for a fun creative winter outing!

Bella Terra Vineyards is a winery, restaurant, and event venue in the small town of Hunker in…read moreWestmoreland County. It sells a variety of dry and sweet wines (e.g., red, white, rose, sparkling, and cider), cocktails, mocktails, and beers. Some vineyards are on the grounds as are many barrels and bottles of wines. The restaurant has both indoor seating and seasonal outdoor seating in lakeside cabanas and winter igloos. It is open for brunch/lunch and dinner. It is a nice setting for daily dining as well as special events such as weddings, bridal and baby showers, and private parties. Furthermore, the website lists activities such as bingo, painting and candle-making classes, live music with dancing, and more. For my husband and me, I made a reservation for lunch in an igloo. Our igloo was large enough to fit eight people and cost $50 plus foods and drinks. A larger "party dome" fits up to 14 people and has a fee of $75. The temperatures outside were very cold, but our igloo was kept warm by an electric fireplace and a zippered door. Throughout our meal, our waitress provided timely and friendly service. The Bistro menu listed shareables (e.g., pretzel sticks and charcuterie board), several smash burgers, several flatbreads, mains (e.g., fish and chips, cajun chicken pasta, and quinoa bowl), several salads, several handhelds (e.g., turkey melt, veggie wrap, and Italian panini), many sides, and a couple of desserts. Prices were moderate. (The menus for Sunday Brunch and a group Gathering differ.) The waitress first brought our Sweet Wine-Cookie Flight (4.5 stars), which consisted of the following pairs: Diamond Reo with Brown Sugar Pop Tart, Sweet Finley with Chocolate Salted Caramel, Riesling with Cookies and Cream, and Rose Cider with Strawberry Crunch. The wine glasses came in a wooden box, which was slightly too small, so I needed several minutes of time to carefully pull each wine glass out of the box. I, however, did enjoy the sweet flavors of the wines and cookies. Next our waitress brought out our shareable and two mains. The Hummus Plate (4.5 stars) consisted of fresh and tasty hummus, feta, olives, top seedz crackers, tomatoes, cucumbers, green and red peppers, carrots, celery, and tzatziki. My main course was Crab Cakes (4 stars) with a substituted side of salad. Two crab cakes were a decent size of 4 ounces each, but I would have preferred more crab meat. I liked the garlic aioli. My husband's main course was the Cali Burger (4 stars) with a side of fries. In a brioche bun, a beef patty was topped with fontina cheese, applewood-smoked bacon (which he would prefer be crispier), avocado, avocado ranch, lettuce, and pickles (which he commented were nicely crunchy and sweet-sour) (no tomato at his request). The total price for the flight, shareable, two mains, and a soda was $98 plus sales tax and tip (plus the earlier $50 fee for the igloo).

We came in to get drinks to go with our food (we got food from the food truck outside "Firebox"). The food from Firebox was good and it was a generous portion for the price. The drink options that were not beer were limited, and half of those options on the menu weren't available. My partner got the berry chocolate stout and said it was "pretty good". We hoped to sit outside, but the only available table had broken glass all over it from a busted door. It does have convenient parking and I liked the industrial decor. The service was good and the lady was very nice. One thing I will point out is that one of our glasses had pink lipstick on it from a previous customer. But if you only want beer and a place to chill - it might be just right for you.

I also appreciate the ample outdoor seating available. Always a big plus for me, even if the outdoor area is really just tables set up on the sidewalk overlooking the parking lot - as it is in this case. The service was fine. It wasn't crazy busy there but the bartender had a little edge to her like we were more on an annoyance than a patron. They have a refill club where you can buy a mug and get your name printed on it with discounted refills. Again I appreciate that kind of thing, but the bartender seemed way more interested in some of the regulars than us. Just the vibe she gave off that night I guess. And lastly the beer...it's solid. Not great, but solid. Lots of darker beers which is fine for me personally, but the darks outnumbered the IPAs, pilsners, etc the night we were there. I'd expect a little more variety. Still, it's good enough that I'd go back next time I'm in Cumberland, but not so good that I'd make a special trip out of my way. My scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive up to 30 minutes just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

Skip to the end to see my rating scale…read more Yough River Brewing hits the three things I look for in a brewery - food availability, outdoor seating/dog friendly, and of course the beer. Went here after golfing with a buddy and had a solid IPA and a pretty good Oktoberfest. The variety available is good enough that most people should be able to find something they like. A really nice outdoor seating area with a couple of fire tables and Adirondack chairs makes it comfortable and inviting. I happened to be there on a Sunday afternoon and I think a football game was going on or just ended because there were a bunch of unsupervised kids running around the tables. Not that they were over the top obnoxious, but they were definitely distracting. Other than the timing, I enjoyed the ambiance of the place and the beers were good enough that I'd gladly make the 40 minute drive down again. 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

I had no idea this brewery was here until a recent trip to Rocky Gap Resort. No matter where I travel I always find every brewery through Yelp and try to hit up as many as possible. Thank you my fellow Yelpers :) This place is really off the beaten path and those are my favorite kind of breweries. It's located on an old farm and its whole vibe screams, "Come on in and enjoy yourself!" I love the space the people who own this have created. The outside area is open, airy, and peaceful. The lower building with the restrooms is a great space too. I love how they serve the beers out of the lower part of the upper building. Super cool setup. We ordered: Girlfriend: Lemon Blueberry Sour Ale (5/5) Me: Blood Orange Horizon (5/5) We also ordered some food from Jackies Groovy Cheese truck while enjoying our beers. I'm going to have to make you a Yelp page because I wanted to give you praise and you weren't on here yet. - Fried Pickle Slices (6/5) - Jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese (6/5) They were both super tasty. By far the best fried pickle slices we have ever had and those jalapeño poppers were super crunchy, cooked to perfection, and loaded with cheese. Yum! Fried foods paired with beer is my weakness. We didn't get a chance to explore the inside of the upper building but that gives us something to look forward to the next time we are in the area but to also check out everything else great they have to offer including their other delicious beers and whatever food truck is there on our next visit. We will be back again soon but until then, Happy Drinking! Sláinte:)

Every style I tried in the flight was good...they obviously put the effort into getting their stuff right. They live up to being called a "craft" brewery. The atmosphere is fantastic. Very nice pavilion to keep out of the weather. They also have some open air tables in a little garden and included a good size fire pit to boot. They have live music from time to time and it looks like they have food available occasionally as well. The bartenders were both super friendly and helpful. I think it was about 25 minutes or so from Deep Creek Maryland. The brewery is located in the owners/main brewers garage. Right next to his house, among a bunch of other houses. If they wouldn't have had a sign we would never had known. Once inside we were greeted and warmly welcomed. I actually thought the man and women (who did indeed turn out to be husband and wife) were the owners. They seemed to take such pride in everything and were so hospitable to everyone that came in, almost like you would expect if going to a loving and doting relative. She popped popcorn for patrons and was handing out bowls. She was full of stories and seemed to really just like working there. Her and her husband filled us in on the brewery and its history. The beers now were surprisingly decent. I got the glimmer of hop comet. They had a winter warmer on tap with like the best name Fra-Gee-Lay, Must be Italian. I can't imagine ever finding myself in this neck of the woods again but I sure would order that beer again if I ever saw it on tap. For the locals this place should definitely be in your rotation.
