Pictures speak for themselves. This is a serious failure in food safety and quality control, made worse by the fact that my wife unknowingly ate some of the fries before realizing their condition--and that we paid good money for food like this. We will not be returning or spending another dollar here; customers ordering to-go should inspect their food before leaving and demand a refund if it looks anything like this, as this level of care raises serious concerns about how customers are being treated and basic sanitation standards.

We stopped here on a whim after a long gorgeous hike. The beer was so good but the food was truly amazing. Asked the bartender for his recommendations and got a couple sushi rolls and one of the best hamburgers I've had: the Bacon Bleu burger. A full 1/2 pound burger, good balance of bleu cheese and thickly sliced bacon. Fantastic service, great ambiance. Did I mention the food was soooo good??? We will definitely be coming back.

This is a great hidden gem in a small town and it has a little something for everyone. They have sushi, a variety of fish dishes, and much more. Very much worth the drive if you're in the area. Breweries seem to always have the best food.

Two thumbs up on the food at this place. Great selection of food but sadly they were out of a few of the beers we were interested in. But it's very interesting how the brewery has such good food.

This is a human hair in my food! Note, this is my 2nd plate! The 1st one also had a hair in it!!! Yes, they did remove it from our bill.

7/6/2023: I am perusing the menu expediently . . . Ready to order and insuring the entire meal was ordered to-go including, two Crowlers for TGIF and the upcoming weekend . . . 1. Red beet salad--heavy on the Feta Cheese, please? 2. Miso soup 3. Handmade Ahi Roll 4. Citranic Double IPA X 2 After finishing my business in Cool CA, I drove to my humble abode, doctored/inhaled one-quarter of the salad, doctored/inhaled the handmade roll, I couldn't stomach the Miso soup due to the fact, it tasted OLD AND SOUR (I threw the Miso soup down my garbage disposal) but, refrained enjoying the Citranic Double IPA because I have TGIF business I must address in the morning and afternoon. Therefore, I'll enjoy the Citranic Double IPA later in the evening after I finished all my weekly business. Reviewing what I had consumed from Cool Beerwerks' Kitchen thus far: First, the pistachio, red beet salad was semi, meh~quasi-satisfying; however, not filling and definitely not a "WOW~NOW THAT'S AN AWESOME SALAD!" . . . So, I added more Feta cheese from my refrigerator, I added an handful of sunflower seeds, I added a clump of sliced, pickled ginger, organic brown rice, and finally, I added a slight kick of organic, sliced Kimchee to the beet salad. In addition, I also added organic, Kimchee juice to the questionable, "What IS THAT weird-colored, orange, boring tasting, concoction of a salad dressing, eh?" The salad dressing was definitely "OFF" as well . . . Eye-roll disappointingly ensues. Second, the Miso soup tasted "OFF" like it was a five-months' old, Miso broth, package mix, i.e., NG (not good), shockingly surprising was bringing home an egregiously minuscule serving of Miso soup poured into a plastic, small, 2-1/2/3-ounce, drink cup; Cool Beerwerks' Wait Staff failed serving the Miso soup in a small soup bowl~WTH!!!! FYI: The Miso soup via the menu stated, "Traditional?" REALLY? THE MISO BROTH IS NOT TRADITIONAL BY ANY MEANS BUT, PACKAGED MISO SOUP; which IS a waste of my money IMHO . . . Not worth $3.00 for THAT minuscule serving! PLEASE, YELPERS~please don't BOTHER ordering the Miso soup . . . I wonder if, the same applies to the "spicy" Miso soup listed in the Cool Beerwerks' menu, too which I suspect the spicy , Miso soup broth is packaged broth as well . . . DO NOT ORDER MISO SOUP not until, Cool Beerwerks makes the broth from scratch--Don't even attempt trying to fool me, either . . . BTW~Here's my soapbox proclamation: I KNOW WHAT REAL MISO SOUP BROTH TASTES LIKE--I've had several, AUTHENTIC Miso soups while staying in Shibuya/Jimbocho District located in Tokyo, Japan! Step up your Miso soup broth STAT by making Miso soup from SCRATCH, Chef, i.e., packaged Miso soup broth doesn't belong in ANY restaurant's kitchen-EVER. Third, the Ahi Handmade Roll . . . Where's the WASABI???? There wasn't a dab of Wasabi in the roll nor was there a smidgen of Wasabi or soy sauce inside the to-go container! WHY NOT???? So, what did I DO? I took out a tube of ORGANIC Wasabi I bought from Japantown, San Francisco--I mixed a dab of Wasabi and a splash of ORGANIC Kikkoman soy sauce together, stuffed the mix into the Ahi handmade roll then, stuffed sliced, pickled ginger inside the roll . . . Or place a dab of the Wasabi on the side of the roll with a splash of organic soy sauce . . . NOW, THAT'S AN AHI HANDMADE ROLL, CHEF!!!! Capische? Finally, ELIMINATE serving to-go food in STYROFOAM CONTAINERS, i.e., use compostable to-go, Earth-Friendly restaurant containers or food containers that won't disintegrate, Cool Beerwerks! Aside, I have extremely high expectations for the Citranic Double IPA blowing my olfactory and my taste buds into oblivion, i.e., I'll leave two stars with hopes the Citranic Double IPA doubles adding at least, one star! Now, I'll post my receipt, Yelpers and all will decide whether I give Cool Beerwerks a second chance dining at their restaurant . . . OR NOT. Mahalo, Ohana!!!!

Hamachi Crudo that is NOT RAW, they torch it. So the only thing crudo would be the garnishes.

The 2 stars are for the buffalo wings, they are some of the best wings we've had in a long time. The service was the main issue. My husband and I received 2 paper napkins for both of us with our wings, I asked for silverware which came with a linen napkin. Once our mains were served for us and our 2 children, no napkins were ever brought for our children so I shared my linen napkin. Ironic, since she was folding/handling napkins at the host stand. 3 out of the 4 waters were empty and a refill was never offered, we had to ask. But the kicker is after the mains were dropped off the server never once came over to check on the food or the table. The hamachi crudo was inedible. It was not until we were ready for the check did she come to the table. When my husband inquired about the nature of the hamachi crudo she informed us it was 'lightly' torched. Then asked if I would like it torched more. The literal definition of crudo is RAW. I declined and so she asked me if I would like something else, also declined bc at that point everyone was finished and ready to go. If she had checked in after dropping the dish, I would have happily exchanged it for something or had it prepared correctly. But I am not going to wait for a new dish, with my children, and have them sit there and wait while I dine. This all could have been corrected if she had been even slightly more attentive. The hamachi (not) crudo was left on the bill for us to pay and on the table barely touched. Yes, we could have been more vocal but we also shouldn't have to hunt our server down for the basics like water, napkins, or an occasional checkin.

So we were driving home and wanted something to eat. Heard this place was good. Little out of the way but is worth it and a beautiful drive. The beer is good and the food was as well so yummy. We sat outside on the patio we had our dog with us. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Our waitress was awesome. One lady said she had one of the best burgers she has ever had. We will definitely be back here again cheers

Came here to check it out and grab drinks to see that the neighbourhood would be like. Was up here checking out houses . Walked in on sunday around 12:45pm and was greeted right away when we walked it. We were offered menus right away and it all looked so good. They offer American fusion Japanese food. We will have to come back and try the food another day. It's was nice to atmosphere with music in the background but lots of people chatting. This place.

I've been here a few times and it never disappoints. Bingo nights are especially fun, and I say this as a 23 year old. Good sushi, good burgers, good desserts, appetizers, and alcohol. It's all good. Staff are friendly and attentive. It's always nice and clean, too.

Amazing service, great prices, delicious food, what's not to like? Came in around 2pm on the 27th with 3 of us. The inside has a classic brewery feel but not dingy or dirty, very clean and inviting. Can't remember our servers name but she was great! We had three raspberry lemon drops(so good!they were mine), some beers(apparently good, I'm not a beer girlie), the pepperfin, some nigiri, two orders of Musubi, the spring rolls, fish and chips, chicken sandwich, and the gyoza. Nothing disappointed! Who knew there was great sushi in Cool? If you're unsure of what to get, get one of everything! Will for sure be going back

My boyfriend and I stopped in for our anniversary lunch. We are from the Bay area and this brewery has such a wonderful mix of new age flavor with a rustic feel. We had the burgers with one of their ales ( I believe it was called Stinger ). Our food was perfect. Great portions, fair priced and such a wonderful flavor. Most of all the beer was to die for. Our server was prompt, kind and over all just joy to be around. Unfortunately we do not remember her name. My only concern is the lack of proper restaurant attire. It is only my opinion but, It's difficult to distinguish between staff and customers without uniforms or name badges. Most of the staff seem to wear open toe shoes. I have worked in the food service industry for close to 7 years now and have always been under the impression this violates restaurant safety regulations due to potential falls, dropping things and hygiene safety . This brewery is truly a hidden jewel with amazing potential. read more

It sucks when you go to a business frequently and when you approach them about their food sucking and making you puke that they blow you off. Seriously??! 2 stars because the brew master is cool. I don't care when the fish was delivered, if it's handled or stored incorrectly it will make people barf. Own up to your bs or get bad reviews on yelp. ‍ read more

This place is, well, pretty interesting, to say the least: Hawaiian-influenced food and sushi combined with a brewery, in a rock-and-roll themed restaurant, with country music playing, in a strip-mall in the Sierra foothills of California. Bizarre, but it kind of works? In any case, the food was pretty decent (better than expected); the beers were worth trying, but both of the ones we got (a fruit sour and a creamsicle IPA) were definitely sweeter than your average brews, almost like a halfway point between a beer and a soda. read more

NOT Cool in Cool. We tried to support a local business during this pandemic and left hungry and pissed off and potentially covered in Covid. Not only did our waiter, have his mask under his chin, as he breathed all over us...as we ordered from a plastic covered menu, that looked like it had been touched by 100 others, the dinner we ordered NEVER showed up. We waited for 90 min for a meal that would never appeared. The culprit, rice. This sneaking tiny white devil grain, apparently sent the kitchen into a culinary death throw for which there would be NO recovery. Beer was good, minus the mask-less bar tender is breathing all over your glass. Wasted date night and cost of a sitter to end up pissed off and at the grocery store getting a taco kit. read more

We had a blast hearing live music at CBW Saturday night! Of course the band "Remix" was great, but the venue was very pleasing as well. This was a first visit and the customer service couldn't have been better! We were acknowledged right away and seated where we wanted. Our server in the bar kept track of us all night and was perfect! My husband had a beer then joined me in some local wine. He ordered the salmon teriyaki with rice and liked it, but I highly recommend they add a veggie such as fresh broccoli to the dish. Just steamed broccoli would take the teriyaki plates to a new level! I ordered later and got the Volcanoville Roll after hearing someone comment that it was good, and they were correct! It had great flavor and the tempura shrimp in the middle was super crispy/crunchy and made for a perfect roll that I would def order again. Great service, fun night and good food, what more can I ask? Well, the owner was there the whole time and never acknowledged us in the three plus hours we were there. Just a simple hello or smile would have been so nice. If that happens next time then I will up the rating to 5 stars! :) read more

This place is definitely a must try even if you are not from the Cool area. Owner's Chris and Megan are so attentive and do everything to ensure that everyone who comes in leaves with a smile and a full belly. The hazy IPA was amazing and I can't rave enough about how good the fish sandwich was. Solid portion fried to perfection and piping hot as it reached my table. Will definitely be coming back to support this establishment. read more

So disappointed our first time trying this place and we never even got our food! Waited almost an hour for a simple order of fish and chips and a pulled pork sandwich and a completely different order showed up and then back to the kitchen the mystery meal went and no visit from the server or manager for an update on the food! We wound up having to leave. read more

It can be hit or miss. Prices are a bit high, but sushi is usually tasty, and the beer is good but it's also pricey, $7.50/pint. The service varies- recently we waited almost an hour for our food - server forgot to place our main order after our appetizers. So, I went here about 5 years ago when they first opened and had a few of their beers. We had an enjoyable time, the owners are very nice and the beer is good. I haven't been here in a few years because it's a ways from my house but I went here after a hike today. I walked in and am very surprised they now serve sushi! Okay, I was a bit skeptical but as I drank my delicious ipa and looked around at all the delicious looking food I of course had to order a roll. I went with a somewhat spicy Volcanoville roll. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with my order. I will try to come back sooner. read more

Never in a million years would I expect to find a brewpub ... with Sushi ... much less up in the hills! And not just sushi, but damn good sushi too, and damn good beer to go with it. Plus the staff was super kind and attentive. I would absolutely recommend this place - it's absolutely worth the drive!!! read more

I went here with my mother after a short hike in the area. I enjoyed the chicken wings. They had good flavor and were crispy. The shrimp was also very good. They were out of several beers when we visited, but the beers I did try were all good. The service was a little slow, but our waitress was very friendly. read more

Wow! Walked in tonight and was immediately greeted with nothing but smiles! The gal that helped us told us we could sit anywhere we wanted...so we did! There was absolutely NO WAIT! The place was so inviting and so fun! Out waitress was incredibly sweet! She kept us company the whole time. I watched a couple of boys walk in sit down..looked annoyed and walked out. Not sure what the problem was..but I did hear them mouth out something. Spoiled children. We were here for 3 1/2 hours and was thrilled to stay! I'm coming back many more times. This place is amazing. Just moved here and made a great decision to come for dinner! Everyone in here has been happy and has stayed for more then 3 hours. I love this ambience... the food was also amazing! You can't go wrong coming here. I give them 10 stars! read more

Have been here several times and love their big yummy portions and tasty beer. The ahi poke nachos were great. The beers were great. Service was friendly and right on. Today the Hawaiian local plate with 'Kalua' pork was very disappointing. It was a smidgeon of BBQ pork. Nothing like kalua pork. We have had several good meals here and will be back but the local kalua plate is a no go. read more

Good place for the family. We have gone several times. The kids live the atmosphere, it's got a rock theme they think is cool. We went because the offered sushi and burgers so it met the needs of the gang. The food was good, the beer was good too. It's a little out of the way for us now but when in Cool I'm sure we'll be back. read more

I've been here twice for sushi and beer, once for just beer. It was right before the remodel, so I can't attest to how it is now. The sushi was great both times, and the beer selection is pretty good as well. Met the owner and he seemed nice, the wait staff was nice both times. In my opinion this is a pretty solid place, and good sushi in the foothills. read more

Very fun place!!! First time in and wow we're impressed. Sam was our server and she was great!! We had the Stinger honey wheat beer, Rubicon Springs and Pandemic. With a couple of sushi rolls. Little place in cool!! The only thing I would suggest is ice cold mugs for the beers on hot summer days :) read more

Hate to do this because I love one of their rolls. This is the 3rd time we waited 20 minutes to even get menus. I decided to go get them myself. We had family from out of town come in and not even a hello or ill be right with you so we left. Chubby waitress just said "oh well" when my friend mentioned we didnt get served for over 20 minutes. Super rude but obviously we ruined her day? Sucks because we came here every weekend. I guess they dont care about service anymore stinks because the owners were so nice. This place has really gone down hill. read more

Established in 2013.

Originally opened in 2013 by Steve and Rochelle Robello, Cool Beerwerks was taken over by the Knight Family October 2021. We are a micro brewery where all beer is brewed in house. And we have quite the food selection. Your traditional pub food, burgers, salads and small bites. Mixed in with our numerous sushi options! You have to try it for yourself!

This brewery is wonderful. My husband and I travel a lot and visit many breweries, so when we were choosing what beer to serve at our wedding we had many to choose from. We wanted something local, fresh, high quality and made by good people. We spent a year deciding who to go with. Closer to the wedding we visited Cool Beerwerks for the afternoon. We told the owner that we were shopping for our wedding. He let us sample everything and explained all of the beers. He gave us a great deal. In the end we went with the Stinger and our guests loved it. We paired it with Stone IPA. As major beer lovers we are so happy to have such a great brewery so close. We drove to San Diego just for Stone, went out to Delaware just for Dogfish Head, that's how much we love good beer. Anyway, this place has excellent beer with balance and imagination, terrific food, a friendly atmosphere, and an owner with passion and love for his business. We really recommend it. I had the opportunity to visit Cool Beerwerks yesterday...what an awesome place! You can fill the love and energy that went into every inch of the place. The sound system was best I have heard ...just like being at a concert.....the chairs and couches were so comfy and inviting, the bar was well... simply outstanding! The tall tables and bar stools where comfortably placed... perfect seating. I had some of the root beer and I don't like root beer...I do at Cool Beerwerks! It is so nice to have a greet and meet place in Cool. I can not wait for the music venue I know it will be awesome! I haven't had the chance to try the food but fully intend to on my next visit....If you are looking for "yummy small plate food" and a cold just made beer or even a #1 best root beer ever for the kids or your self if you are looking for a place to catch up with friends or just chill after a long day this is your spot Cool Beerwerks, I can't wait to show it off to my family and friends. If you are searching for a hidden gem of a local brewery, then look no further than Cool Beerwerks. I've been twice now, trying both the Scottish Ale and the Blonde, and found both to be delicious. Yes, the food may be secondary to the beer, but that's just how it should be. I don't go to my local boutique winery for the food, nor would I go to a brewery expecting a 5-star restaurant. However, the menu offerings are a perfect accompaniment to an after work beer, or a light lunch or dinner. I've tried the shrimp poorboy and the pastrami sandwiches, as well as the fried macaroni bites and found them to be excellent pub-style food. On the opening night there was a live band and there's also a nice patio for alfresco libations. It's really nice to have a family-friendly local business open, where one can go for beer and enjoy live music, without having to endure a "pick-up" bar vibe or pay for an expensive meal. The brewery was relatively quiet, yet we waited for service that never came. Frustrated, we left, only to find the hostess engaged in conversation with other staff.
