I absolutely love this coffee shop. The ambiance is impeccable, the coffee is good and the food is a little piece of heaven.

If it's downtown IF, you're going to be selecting the 'somewhat difficult to find parking' option…read morefor everyplace. Villa Coffeehouse is just like any other of the legacy establishments in this way. With curb parking located in this cluster of narrow one-way streets--pulling up somewhere nearby becomes a payoff. From the street it looked quaint, like a little green vintage cottage. The cozy cottage feeling is there when you start to enter, but an array of scattered tables & lounging nooks plotted around a spacious interior make the final step in--like transporting through the wardrobe. Now, instead of what we expected--a little coffee kiosk serving sandwiches made from prepped hot items, tucked into a tiny lounge--we were perusing the various menus of a counter-order, half-scale 'brunchy.' Waiting to "Tend" our needs, the barista-cashier-server polished her counter while mindfully watching us ponder our options. Sort of pub-like, with a long surface and dedicated keep on the other side, this spot starts the action of every order. With the "keep" standing ready, and the others still deciding, I stepped up. Their menu features some pretty interesting sounding creations. I thought about the Rancher: Egg, bacon & swiss, on a croissant with ranch. Also, the Turkey Avocado Wrap sounds pretty yummy-- but ultimately my tendency to customize won out. Egg, bacon, pepperjack & grilled onion, on a Jalapeno cheddar bagel with salsa--Zesty. I was mixing ingredients of both the breakfast and lunch menu, but they didn't seem to mind. The way we did it was scattered. I had ordered both my food and coffee, before the other two both ordered food, then ordered their coffees. The keep handled this mess with no problem. A+ She sent back all three of our food orders to the kitchen, before starting on our drinks. I asked for a dark roast (which they didn't have), but the keep told me their strongest brew. So, I went with a cup of that, added a shot for a red-eye. The do-it-all keep brought everything to our table. The other two really enjoyed their food and drinks. My bagel was the epitome of hot-out, and it was pretty tasty. My coffee, well, I like strong coffee--their strongest roast at the time (according to the keep) ended up tasting like blonde roast to me. I needed to add a couple more shots to enjoy it. But I'm fussy about coffee, and the shots worked. I'll definitely go back. The place is just super inviting. Ok, so this place is pretty relaxing. While we were there the atmosphere was quiet & slothy, with only a few patrons totally kicking back. High ceilings create the appearance of soft almost natural lighting. Tables are scattered around the floor & in corners. The place would only require a little table scoot to become a small dance room--spacious. With capacity to seat and entertain a lot more people--I bet they have busy times. There's also a semi-private area with no door, but a couch and table. They have board games, books, a coat closet. I saw someone on a laptop. It's set up to stay a bit and we're going to come back to discover more, and more. 5*

My boyfriend liked the burrito but said he would like a little more meat. I liked the croissant sandwich & the maple syrup in it really added to the taste!

Located just up the road from downtown Idaho Falls, this charming little coffee shop perfectly…read moreblends small-town warmth with creative, flavorful drinks that wake up both your taste buds and your mind. They offer a solid lineup of regular staples alongside a rotating selection of featured drinks each month--giving you a great reason to keep coming back and see what's new. We tried the Oatmeal Cookie and Honey Lavender lattes, swapping in oat milk to lighten the caloric load. Both delivered a rich, prominent coffee flavor and were pleasantly sweet without going overboard. While both were excellent, the Honey Lavender edged out as my favorite. Every drink can be customized to your liking, and they're happy to fill your own reusable cup if you bring one. Street parking is surprisingly easy to find, even on a Saturday around lunchtime. The only downside is the somewhat limited hours (8:30 AM - 2:30 PM), so plan accordingly if you're passing through later in the day.

We had a lot of questions regarding the lattes, and the barista was kind enough to show us the measurements and ingredients of each latte. There's also gifts inside of here and some tables to sit down and enjoy your drink. Parking was no issue and pretty walkable to the downtown area. Would definitely visit again!

So first you gotta know this; I've always liked going out to eat as my entertainment highlight--and…read moreI'm no spring chicken. So I've had my share of pastries, breads, quiche, etc.. and well, they ain't my favorite. I looove coffee, everything is better with it! (Ok, milk and doughnuts rock too--but my coffee needs to be nearby to keep me in the right head-space.) So anyway, Deborah MADE me go to megpies yesterday. Thankyou Deborah!!!! It's in that cute little diamond in the rough, house/ business building on 1st street, just west of Holmes before Yellowstone. That building has had a history of failed businesses, probably because the parking situation is a little rough--Chapolera Coffee used to be there. So, you might get one of the limited park spots right out front on busy, narrow, first street. You might have to park across the street in the small, but free parking lot (usually plenty of spaces available), and walk across busy first street. You might have to walk up some balustrade stairs, to cross the quaint, and porch swing type nostalgic patio (no porch swing, just a vibe), with patio seating, before getting to the entrance. You might have to sit at one of the few inside tables, and wait your turn to order. But wait!--to leave would be a mistake. Though we didn't get to meet Meg, who I understand is a terrific person, so is the help who was there the day we went. There was three of us, and we'd never been. I was dead set on just getting coffee. But the perfect little displays of croissants and quiche just looked so tempting. The quiche I've had from other places in the past have been small, round, dry, little flavorless bites. But the Spinach Swiss & Bacon Quiche at Megs was sitting right there--rudely screaming at me, EAT ME!! So, as you can see, I had no choice. The croissants on display were Pistachio Cream, and they just looked, flakey, and filthy-- with a light bit of gooey pistachio cream sliced in, and a messy dark choclate drizzle scribbled across the top. So, as you can see, I had to teach this thing some manners. Ok all jokes aside, cuz coffee is serious business! If you can't do that right, everything else has got to be outstanding to bring me back. I don't do coffee drinks, mine is lighly sweetened coffee (preferably dark roast) with a shot of espresso, no creams, no flavors--no disquises. We will be going back to Megs!! The quiche was oustanding, flavorful and moist, without diluting the egg flavor, miraculous! That Pistachio Croissant, well lets just say, it changed me. I'm filthy now too, and lovin it!! The Coffee... Was really good !! I'm a rough customer when it comes to my coffee. I'm not gonna lie, if I were going to combine three different eateries to make my perfect breakfast, Megpies would definitely be one, but I would get my coffee at another local place.. sorry...it was more than good--enough. So, good coffee, good espresso, GREAT FOOD!! CUTE COMFY VIBE!! I would walk farther than just across the street to get here, and, no spring chicken. Thank you for reading, you can thank me after you go here!
