While Warrior may not have had "7 trucks ready to finish the job in one day" like some of the larger companies promised, Gill and his team focused on doing the work the right way -- with care, professionalism, and attention to detail. What really stood out was the customer service. Gill even helped us install and set up a new smart thermostat I had purchased myself. I was charged $4500 to repair my AC unit. I was told that it was due to my thermostat causing the issue. Come to find out it was wired wrong (wired by Milltown previously). After 4 hours, the AC unit failed again. Milltown came out a 2nd time, and quoted me at least another $4000 to fix the actual problem, the refrigerant was leaking, but that cost could have gone up to $7000 depending where that leak was. They offered a bandaid fix for the time being. And the $4500 originally charged was just to clean the system, not actually make any repairs. This was not credited towards actually fixing the problem. Had I known that, I would have searched elsewhere.

I contacted R.H. Young after a heat pump in which they had installed a new motor and serviced…read morenearly a year ago stopped heating. The motor replacement had been done on their recommendation, as my 14-year-old heat pump was beginning to get loud. I was told that after the repairs I could then get many more years of service out of the heat pump, and paid $1840 for the work. They sent out a service technician to check why it wasn't heating. He determined the freon had leaked out and I'd have to schedule any additional repairs with the office. He also said that he would never have repaired a 14-year-old heat pump and would just have recommended replacing it. There was an $220 service charge for his work. When I called the office they said it could take an additional $1000 to track down the source of the leak, (I had never had a leak previous to their work on the heat pump) and provide new freon. I asked to speak to the manager to see if there was a better solution than paying another $1000, when I had already paid them over $2000 for a repair I had gotten very little value for. The manager called when I was out, but said he would call again in the next two days. I called back at his number and got an answering service where I left a message. I never received another call back from him. Apparently RH Young's customer service ends when the customer's check clears. I went ahead and installed a new heat pump, but not through RH Young.

The minute I said "steep", the lady got mad and hung up the call, here's the kicker - she accidentally didn't drop the call fully and I overheard her saying I'm so annoying and complaining about steep fees and I should go somewhere else, and the most shocking part was when she said "they" are now becoming the minority (talking to someone in the background). Wow just wow. I'll let you make out your interpretation of that. Quoting process was very thorough, and we went over almost all options possible. Pricing was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive based on a few quotes that we got. So from my experience you get great value for the service. Scheduling is mostly where my experience was missing that 5th star. Change in scheduling happened about 3 times and so you'll have to be a little flexible because during material and labor shortages due to covid, I'm assuming this where the challenges are. Installation was mostly all clean and went smoothly without any unforeseen issues. This was in about 4 parts: inside unit and compressor one day, outside and inside and basement lines one day, electrician assessment quick look one day, then actual electrician and final turning switch on. There was a very minor issue that we ran into a couple of weeks later but they were able to resolve it within 24 hours at no extra cost. (Covered under warranty)

They sold their business and I am in the unfortunate position of finding a new plumber, so I called Foster Plumbing and Heating Inc. If you want to be scammed, call Eric Foster Plumbing and Heating. When I called them to make an appointment for routine maintenance of my year-and-a-half old AC, I was quoted a price of $225. Nothing was said about this being an hourly charge or about other charges. I have been having furnace and AC maintenance done for about 60 years and the charge for this work has been a flat fee. The work generally takes an hour or less. The only additional charge I have ever had o pay has been $10 for a filter if I did not supply my own. When I got a bill for $432, I was sure it was an error, so I called them to request a corrected bill. It was then that I was told that the $225 was an hourly fee. Since the technicians had not been at my home for more than an hour, the charge was still more than I had been quoted. I was then told that they had been working at my home for an hour and 15 minutes, so I was charged for an extra 15 minutes. However, Foster has a strange kind of math as they charged for a half hour for those 15 minutes. That would be $112.50 for that "extra" 15 minutes. Add to that the $94.50 which I was told covered the cost of the liquid used to clean the coils. Pretty expensive liquid, something I have never been charged for in the past!! I was also not told that there would be an additional charge when I made the appointment. I supplied my own filter. As an added "bonus", when I turned my shower on the next morning I was bombarded with ice cold water. Fortunately, I determined that the water heater temperature had been turned off by the technician and carelessly not turned back on. If it had been necessary to call Foster to solve this problem, I would have been billed another $225 or more. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and I live alone. It is necessary for me to be able to hire reliable and honest workmen. Foster Plumbing and Heating certainly will not go on my list of honest and reliable workmen.
