They sent someone to template the size of the piece of granite we would need. He did not correctly measure the space, so the piece was cut too small. In addition, he put in that it was a half inch bevel as opposed to a quarter inch bevel. We reached out to the company, as we assumed that mistakes like this should be covered by their warranty. However, although they themselves measured the size of the piece of granite they told us that they were not responsible to correct this mistake as I signed off on the measurement. I am, unfortunately, not an expert in measuring granite and trusted that their staff would measure it correctly. I am extremely disappointed that this company was unable to replace a small piece of granite in our kitchen and was unwilling to work with us to resolve this issue.

Let me first start by saying that I will willingly admit that I am that ridiculous person that will make a spreadsheet with all the necessary facts about every decision I make in my life. You can bet your butt I did the same when looking for contractors, and Charlie is one of the best in the Philly area. First, I truly appreciated that Charlie took the time to walk around my house with me while I discussed my plans. He took his time to survey the space, digest my ideas, and chimed in every so often when he needed to be honest about feasibility and/or if he had any other comments. I appreciated the honesty and loved many of his additional suggestions! I could immediately tell that Charlie has had considerable experience with dated rowhomes, like mine. Also, he was more than willing to take on the magnitude of some of the projects, no matter how big or small. Just to give you an idea, these are some of the things they did for me: -Gutted entire first floor -Installed new flooring, framing, dry wall, kitchen cabinets, appliances, bathroom and kitchen fixtures, rug, railing, doors, molding, and trim work. -Leveled floors, supported cracked rafters, added additional support beams, added insulation, and installed some new windows. All things considered, Charlie wants to make sure you're happy with the end result, and he will keep any promise he makes. One example is my bathroom surround tile - I didn't like how dark the grout came out and the placement of the tiles. Charlie was willing to redo it, and went over everything step by step to make sure we were on the same page the second time around. Now, I'm not saying make them do it 5 times until you get something you like. I'm just saying that he's willing to work with you if it doesn't come out exactly as you had anticipated the first time. Lastly, just look at the quality of their work. Attached you will see some albums of the before, during, and after pictures of my home. We hired Reico (and worked with Cindy) for a full kitchen redesign, and the most important element…read morewe asked for was an island that would seat five people comfortably, with storage on one end. We were extremely clear that the seating needed to be unobstructed--essentially, a counter-height table extension from the cabinets. The final design we approved included an apron, but no measurements were provided to explain how it would impact stool clearance. The rendering even showed five stools at the island, which gave us confidence that it would work as intended. Unfortunately, that was a huge mistake. Because of a poorly designed apron, it is physically impossible to fit standard counter-height stools under the island. The clearance is so low that no stool exists that both fits under the island and allows you to sit and eat comfortably. In other words, the centerpiece of our kitchen--the island seating--is a total failure. It is appalling that a professional kitchen designer would overlook such a basic and critical detail. We assumed we could trust her expertise, but that assumption has left us with an island that cannot function as designed and no reasonable options to fix it without a major renovation. If you are considering working with this company, be warned: do not assume the designer has considered the practical details. Double-check every measurement yourself, because we learned the hard way that they do not.
