We didn't have an a exact idea of what we wanted, but Miss Barbie was so helpful and guided us to the perfect style for my son. She was so great with him, and worked quickly. He was distracted by everything going on around him, and that didn't phase her at all! I was so impressed! My little man looks so handsome, just in time for his first birthday party this weekend! ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME???? Gas is $6 a gallon and I drove from Bellflower to the far side of Fullerton only to get there and have the person I was scheduled with not working today. I specifically asked for HOPE when I had to reschedule the first appointment the kid rescheduled it for himself. I didn't ask for him I asked for HOPE. I am absolutely disgusted and should have read the reviews before I came here. My 3 year old boy doesn't like to get his haircut. I rarely feel like battling him until his hair gets so long he starts looking neglected and I have no choice but to take him to a professional. I saw this place while at the market next door and thought it was a cookie shop but was pleasantly surprised to see it was a kids haircut joint. I made an appt and did the hard work of getting my kid into the car and into the salon. What wasn't great was having to wait 30 minutes for my appt because our assigned hair stylist was wrangling a crying inconsolable child. It was very frustrating. I understand these types of situations are out of the stylists control but what would greatly improve the experience is to implement a policy where if a child is uncooperative, then said child must reschedule for a different time. Waiting 30 minutes for an appt as an adult is no big deal. Waiting 30 minutes for an appt with a 3 year old is a very big deal. When my boy finally got sat, his hair cutter was Tamara. She was funny and dry and really soft spoken but she needed a lot of guidance and while I'm sure she's talented it seemed she had simply run out of steam after her hellish client previous to us. read more

Honestly, would not recommend based off of customer service. The receptionist was SO friendly and nice, we really liked her but the actual stylists were another story. There was only 2 working when we got there and they both did not seem like they were in the mood at all. The first stylist was impatient and kinda rude to the clients. The second stylist, which is who cut my child's hair, swung the car around really fast while she was sitting in it and my child almost FELL out of the car onto the ground. No exaggeration. She started crying and was scared so we had to calm her down a bit. The stylist didn't say sorry or anything. The actual cut was okay but never going back based off of the attitudes and lack of common sense of the stylists. read more

We have visited three cookie cutters locations and this was by far the best one! They clearly have a following as it was quite busy but even more importantly than that, the two gals who cut my boys' hair were exceptional. Michelle was just phenomenal, spending so much time and being so gentle with my older son. She mad sure his hair was perfect before concluding. Meagan was also excellent and really cared about the detail for my younger son. These ladies were both awesome! While this location is a little bit of a drive for us, I will definitely go out of my way to come back! read more

If I could give no star I would , I took my daughter in for her first hair cut ever. Her hair was so long pass her shoulders and I went in because she has super curly hair and this lady cut her hair like a bob and her hair is super short and doesn't even go past her shoulders now. I'm so sad because it took awhile to grow. I literally told her a small trim & she end up taking so much out. now can't even put her hair up without it falling out of a rubber band with how short it is. read more

I'm really disappointed, we went out of our way to come to this salon for kids and paid a lot for a simple cut, only to come home and have to re trim it myself because of how bad it turned out. I'm not sure how this is at all acceptable, definetlt would not recommend this place. read more

We just had the greatest experience. I took my twin 2 1/2-year-old kids in for a haircut. We walked in right when they opened and there were two stylus available Anna and Myra. They did a great job on both my son and daughters haircut. There was no tears and all happy smiles the whole time. Both haircuts turned out fantastic and were easy and fast. I'm so grateful for both of these ladies for their expertise and helpful kind hearts. They made my babies feel safe and they had a good time. The salon is very clean and the chairs are fun. They let my children pick where to sit which I think up lower their nervousness. This is the first time we have ever gone to a salon for haircuts and I will do it again for sure! read more

Great spot for kid's haircuts. My son just turned 3 this month and we've had trouble in the past with hair cuts. But at Cookie Cutters, he didn't cry, complain or fidget. Ms Barbie put him immediately at ease. The facility itself is geared towards kids, with a play area, lots of toys, decorations -- and even barber chairs designed to look like cars, fire trucks, etc. He had a great time and is actually looking forward to going again. Mayra and jasmine went out of their way to make my scared and recently hospitalized two-year-old son, Liam, comfortable. They blew bubbles, offered balloons, and we're clearly passionate about children. My son now actually asks himself now to go see them. They were gentle and patient and did not get annoyed when my son refused to get into the chair (and he was hysterical). They were patient and I never felt like I had to leave. They were extremely flexible. The shop is clean, safe, and kid friendly to say the least ! This is the second time coming to this place. I haven't had a single bad experience until TODAY. I'm not the person to go off or say anything but the constant RUDENESS from HOPE, was outrageous. I've had Barbie cut my sons hair the first time and she was AMAZING second time it was another stylist and she was also so good with my son. The haircut itself is great and they've all been patient with my 1 year old. However it was the "greeting" that completely threw me off. I get there at 12:20 which my appointment was at 12:45 and I knew I was expecting to wait. So I give my info to the girl in front and Hope replies with WELL YOUR GONNA HAVE TO WAIT YOUR STYLIST IS ON LUNCH. Which I replied with yes no worries I know... my kids begin to play on the playground and my husband proceeds to tell my kids to take off their shoes so they can go down the slide. At this point I know it's common sense they can get hairs in their socks but the way Hope replied.... "NO I RECOMMEND NOT TO TAKE OFF THEIR SHOES SINCE THERE ARE HAIRS AND THEY COULD GET IT ALL OVER THEIR FEET, THIS IS NOT MCDONDALDS" I understand your just looking out HOWEVER, same message could've been delivered without the rudeness and I would've understood. My husband and I brought our 6 month old daughter for her first hair cut and were so excited for this, but what we got was a chopped up, more like someone bit off my daughters bangs. They are extremely short, almost non existent and uneven. I wanted to cry when I saw the end result. I took my 2 year here for the first time a couple months ago. This place is very clean and professional looking. They have cars for the kids to sit in as well as TVs to distract the kids while getting their hair cut. I usually go to cool cuts in brea, but it is always so packed, especially on the weekends. I called this place randomly to see if they had availability, and they did. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes and was very pleased with my sons haircut. I also bought one of their spray water bottles to wet my sons hair. It's awesome and the water comes out like a mist, instead of a regular squirt/spray bottle. Because we LOVE Cookie Cutters in Manhattan Beach, we expected the same experience in Fullerton but we were seriously wrong. The blonde woman running the place is rude, bossy, and demeaning. She talked down to us. I understand that we were late but we have 2 babies under 2 - to berate us like naughty children was unnecessary. Miss Katryna cut my sons hair but she clearly has no experience with kids - she didn't bother to learn his name, say hello to him, talk to him... she just sat him down and started spraying his hair with water, which he hated (at that point she should've sprayed the comb but instead she sprayed his head every time she made a cut, almost like she wanted to upset him more). She didn't bother to put on his favorite show. Admittedly, my son was really scared and did not sit nicely at all. I know it was a difficult cut because he squirmed and screamed the whole time. But barking orders at a scared kid and being rude to his parents certainly doesn't help. When she was done cutting, she didn't bother to dry or style his hair. She didn't give him the cut he asked for - his hair looks like Jeff Daniel's hair in Dumb & Dumber. I was so upset but just wanted to get out of there to soothe my son. As I paid, I was asked how much of a tip I wanted to leave. I asked for a moment to think and the blonde woman pressured me with - you should leave the standard 20% which is $6. Seriously?! I didn't want to tip at all after how awful they both were but since my son was so fussy I left $5. I reached out to the CEO of the franchise who responded quickly. He was kind, apologetic, and understanding, promising to have a chat with the store. They need some serious customer service training as well as techniques for handling scared toddlers. We'll absolutely use another Cookie Cutters but we will NEVER go to the Fullerton shop again and I suggest that you don't either if you'd like to be treated like a valued customer. read more
