I gave it four because its a hit or miss, most of the night crew make amazing food. Some of them could care less. The portions are never the same. Sometimes I get a tray with double fries and they'll give me less fries then a small side. I'll give it to them the one time I got cold ass fries they remade them. Their milkshakes are to die for, especially Oreo and Oreo Mint. Their pellet ice is superior to Chick-fil-a and lastly the price, phenomenal. read more

Prices were fair. They had 40 different flavors of milkshakes. The blueberry cheesecake was good, not great. The loud contemporary Christian music was obnoxious. If I could give them a 0 star I would. After about 15 minutes of waiting for my food I said something and then it took another 20min to actually get my food. All in all I spent 35 minutes waiting for my food at a FAST food restaurant. After all this, my order was still wrong. Nothing was done to remedy the situation. Cookout's food is generally very good: the burgers are excellent, as are the Cookout Rounds (like crispy tater tots with cheese inside), and the shakes are first-rate, with many flavors to choose from. Their trays are a terrific deal: for example, a double cheeseburger tray with 2 sides & a large tea is only $6.22. The reasons I don't give them 5 stars are that they sometimes overcook the burgers (a blackened burger is a ruined one), and the chicken tenders in their wraps are almost always hard as a rock; also, their shakes could be a little bigger for the $3.30-odd cents they cost after tax. read more

The staff last night was dirty, cussing as if they were in the hallways of high school, and talking about "picking skin off their hand" while handling my food. Really sick and tired of ordering a sandwich and receiving chicken tenders on bread. The quality of food is horrible, fries are usually undercooked, and the sides just aren't enough, not to mention it takes like 8-10 minutes to get my food. You're better off at McDonald's. read more

Update as of July 2017: I posted my original review below in October 2016. I've eaten here a few more times since then and wrong orders every time! We don't order anything weird or complicated. Not getting what we paid for and then trying to get our order corrected is a huge pain. First off, we like Cookout and eat here a few times a month. We can't beat the price for the taste, quantity, and quality of food. I love the cheeseburgers, cajun fries, slaw, and sweet tea. The Oreo mint shake is one of the best shakes available anywhere. The reason for two stars: over the past 10 times we are here (usually through drive through), our order had been wrong eight of those times. It's usually something small- i.e. no ketchup when they said it was in the bag after we asked, no cheese or tomato even though the receipt clearly states we paid for it, no Cajun on the fries that we ordered as Cajun. Understandly, people make mistakes but mistakes shouldn't be the norm. Our orders are typically just two trays and nothing complicated. I haven't really been to any other locations, so I can't say how this compares to Cook Out overall, but I hope that this Waynesboro locations decides to improve. read more

Where do I begin? A few colleagues and I came to this establishment after being ignored at a nearby restaurant(coughJakesBar&Grillcough) in Waynesboro. When we walked in we were greeted by the folks at the counter who immediately took our order after they were done with the customers in front of us. We then took a seat at the opposite corner of the restaurant where we could easily hear our numbers being called out when our food was ready. I ordered a burger with fries and a corn dog. What?! Who knew you could get a corn dog as a side. Not only was the corn dog satisfactory so was the rest of the meal. I also ordered a peanut butter fudge milkshake that was so good that it was guaranteed to bring all the boys to my yard. Overall, the dining area of the establishment was very clean and the staff was overall friendly and inviting. I will definitely be visiting this Cook Out before I leave town. read more

I've only been once, thru Drive-Thru. Just ordered a simple cheeseburger & fries. Burger was terrible & not as ordered. Fries were pretty good & although not thin fries like McD's they were pretty comparable in taste. The food here is really good! First time I went here I told them I didn't want any sauces on my sandwich and they said that they don't put anything on the sandwiches unless you tell them. So I was like okay cool. The past 3 times they put mayo on my sandwiches. Don't try calling them because their number isn't correct. Milkshakes are super good! read more

The first 8 months or so this place was great. The prices and quality were great, but the quality has dropped drastically over the past year. My last visit will be my last for quite a while. I was given an overflowing milkshake with a lid that would not close. This made a mess in my car. I was also turned off by a guy taking money and handling food without changing gloves. The quality of the food was also much lower and more sloppily assembled than it use to be. Stay away until this place is better staffed. read more

I love cookout, however this one is the worst I have ever been to. The cashier did not even speak to us when we came in so we just started placing our order. I ordered a shake, with 2 other customers in front of us. We got our food the same time the other customers got there shakes. When I got my food I asked when I would get my shake, the cashier said "I will bring it to you in 2 mins" after waiting over 5 mins I turn around from our seat to him looking at me and yell "you ain't got it yet?" I shook my head. After another 10 mins (we are now up to 20 mins waiting) another gentleman comes out and yells that my shake was ready. I asked to speak to the "manager" as I was able to put this all in an email to corporate, as there was another incident I was subject to the week before. I explained all this to the "manager" who said he apologized and would provide this information back to his crew, I said I didn't want anything, just for him to know. A few mins later another gentleman came out asking if I waited 20 mins, I said yes, he apologized and said they had a rush, I advised that 2 previous orders and maybe 2 or 3 cars is not a rush. He then asked about the other situation I was subject to and asked when it happened, I said a week before, before walking away he states "I guess that's your bad luck". How rude, waynesboro, va cookout clearly doesn't want my business. Good luck if you get closed and lose your jobs! But I guess the staff wouldn't care about that either?! read more
