After hearing a lot about this chain from our friend from Georgia, we had to give this a go on our road trip. This was my first time to a Cook Out and I will certainly be back. The cashier Orlando was super friendly, patient and helpful. He was checking on guests, greeting everyone who came in and even clearing tables. He asked us where we from and said safe travels on our exit. In terms of the food, there was a wide variety on the menu and the sides options were very good from the traditional sides to chicken nuggets, corn dogs, cheese bites, hush puppies and more. We went for a burger with cheese bites and hush puppies and 2 corn dogs with fries. The food was out quickly and tasted great. I'd love to explore the food menu more next time. The milkshake menu was vast and that's a reason enough to go back! So many fun flavours and things to try. I had Choc Chip Cheesecake and my girlfriend had Peanut Butter Fudge, both we're fantastic, very thick shakes which is what we love! Once again thanks to Orlando, fast food workers see a lot of people in a day so thanks for your great energy and conversation!

My first time at Cook Out ever and the guy working the counter was SO patient! He was awesome! I got the hamburger with everything on it with fries & onion rings. YUM! The burger was sauced and the toppings were falling off! 10/10!! The fries are pretty basic but salted PERFECTLY and the onion rings were good too! Their ranch is also good! Their drink sizes are HUGE! I got a medium and probably won't be able to finish it haha! The only thing that I didn't like was that you had to ask for all of the sauces, even ketchup! The restaurant and bathroom were clean!

We were driving back from Atlanta and I was getting hungry for lunch. I had never tried Cook Out before, so we decided to stop and hit the most southern store in Valdosta. It has potential, but really fell short. We walked in and ordered from the counter. The girl that helped us was very nice. I went with a triple patty cheddar style add pickles. My girlfriend got a chicken sandwich with onion rings. I decided to have a chocolate malt while she had a peanut butter cup shake. After ordering, we decided to grab a seat. Most of the tables were dirty close to the door, and the tables that were clean had employees sleeping in the booths or playing on their phone. They seemed annoyed that customers wanted to sit and eat their food. Some moved as it got more busy. We found a table that wasn't too dirty and our food came up quickly. The food looked ok, nothing special. My burger bun was half stale and hard as a rock. Half was soft. The patty flavor and overall flavor of the burger was quite tasty. With the addition of cook out sauce, it was perfect. The chicken sandwich was pretty mediocre. The patty was half the size of the bun, mostly bread. Onion rings were adequate. Both shakes were really tasty. Overall, our experience left a bit to be desired. It was our first time trying Cook Out and we will likely try again, but at a different location.

Stopping at a Cook Out on a road trip is a must for me! This Cook Out had such a friendly stay to take orders and the food came out hot and fresh. Their hush puppies are some of my favorites and are always one of the two sides that I pick when I got a tray. I love that you can get a milkshake as your drink with a meal and I always get a chocolate shake! Until my next road trip Cook Out!

5 stars for excellent customer service, delicious food, and great prices! I've heard great things about Cook Out, so glad I finally got to try! The staff here are sooooo nice!! We took a look at the menus which can be slightly overwhelming (just because there's lots of options) and decided the trays were best. I got a chicken tender tray with hush puppies and chicken quesadilla as my sides and a mint chocolate chip shake as my drink. Everything was so delicious! The portions are generous and so yum! Service was really quick! My first visit but definitely looking forward to coming again!

Very busy place! Lots of choices so get prepared before you go with what you want. The food here to me tastes exactly like the name implies; you are at a cookout and someone is slinging food from a grill. I thought everthing we had was really good. We got one of the combo's and got 2 hotdogs, cheese curds, fries and then a burger. We flavor of the franks on the dogs were really good. Dressed one with cheese and bacon, yum! The other with no bean chili and slaw. Another really good dog. Double burger old west style. Really good. A little smaller than expected but perfect for the price. Fries seasoning was pretty tasty. A solid burger spot and a really good price. Just make sure to review the menu before you go especially if you are hungry or you will be standing there for a long time.

For openers, if you think the best barbecue is usually found in the worst part of town, in a place…read morewith bars on the windows, and just enough grease on the table to write your initials - then this isn't it. This is a barbecue joint (anyplace that serves barbecue is, by definition, a joint) just off the highway in Valdosta, Georgia... and worth all the confusion created when Waze takes you a block too far, and Yelp says they're about to close their doors for the day, which just wasn't the case. The Woodstack BBQ Tavern came into being in 2015 when three guys bought an old liquor warehouse with a monstrous photo of the Budweiser Clydesdale team pulling their famous wagon spanning the front wall. No deal if the building didn't come with the Budweiser mural. Two of thee three, Justin and Randy are running the place now and about to open another in Thomasville. For a guy who has spent a lifetime in pursuit of the perfect barbecue (read my more than 120 barbecue reviews from across the country on Yelp), this is a jewel worth all the confusion finding them and finding them open. Other reviews touch on the friendliness and they're right on... call for info (are you open, Yelp says you're about to close), to when you come thru the door, place your order and pay the tab, it/'s like your back home neighborhood diner. Lisa seems to be keeping things under control out front while folks in the kitchen keep the great 'cue coming. And at good prices. We had the three meat special (with two sides) for $28, but only after some freshly cooked, well seasoned pork rinds ($11 for a healthy serving)... Burnt ends (started by Arthur Bryant in Kansas City more than 50 years ago) were tender, flush with flavor and a great choice. The ribs were good complete with a validating smoke ring, but the best of the threesome we gorged on was the pulled pork. Some of the best the Brown Shoe Gourmet has enjoyed in some time. We skipped their fries (frozen with seasoning) and had their homemade chips (excellent), slaw (slaw that was just that) and fried Brussel sprouts for the one amongst us who doesn't understand that's not a legitimate barbecue joint side dish. She raved about them and made sure there was some left to take home. Go figure. Turns out we missed out on one of Woodstack's best known sides: homemade onion rings. Who knew? Sauces? Yes, three of them: a thin pepper and vinegar, a mustard based sauce and the traditional very slightly spiced tomato sauce - by far the best and worth buying. And while a lot joints now give you half ounce cups of sauce (or make yu stand in line to choose from too many (City Cue are you listening?) Woodstack puts freshly filled bottles on the table. What a novel idea - sample without holding uo a line- letting the customer decide which sauce and how much? A negative? There was one. No colorful tee shirt to add to the collection of more than 200. The dining area is spotlessly clean as are the rest room; the foods is really good and almost all homemade (they use post oak as is the wood of choice throughout Texas) and the hospitality, led by the smiling ball of energy that is Lisa, is outstanding. Five stars to Valdosta's Woodstack. We'll be back next trip south.
