Eaten here tons of times and honestly love it. Great food and typically great service. I ordered the chicken taco special but was told I had to get soft shells instead of crunchy even though the sign clearly just said tacos. First time ever I was charged incorrectly for 3 different items. Since you only see amounts and not items it's hard to identify errors until you receive the receipt. About half way thru our meal before I realized the errors and they were busy I waited until we completed our food before bringing it to their attention. I had to explain the errors 3 different times - one of which was a medium queso that I ordered and didn't receive - I instead received a small which I was also charged for. Finally a manager was called who decided to give me a medium queso to go instead of refunding me. The other two issues (had a coupon got free small queso but was charged and was charged for extra meat but didn't order it - were never addressed. I asked about them again but just received a blank look. They did ask for the wrapper but one had been discarded and I brought the other that they never looked at. I was just over it at this point and left. Disappointing considering how often we eat there. A few simple overcharges that could have just been simply refunded (even on a gc) turned into something so complicated. Guess lesson learned to check receipts immediately. read more

This one just doesn't seem to be as good as the others we've eaten at. We usually love our meals at Sucheros but it's when they're at the other locations. The past two have been at this one and both have been underwhelming. I live and work close to where the Alpharetta location is supposed to be coming. Very clean establishment. It was a busy Sunday lunch crowd but the line moved pretty quickly. The staff were very friendly and polite. The food was wonderful and tasted fresh. I went in thinking this was like chipotle, and in essence it is, but much better! Way more options than chipotle. I had the nachos with chicken and my husband had a carnitas burrito. Note: I did opt to have the queso for my nachos on the side because I don't like my chips getting soggy and also I'm lactose intolerant so I can minimize how much queso I eat this way. We also opted for the s'mores dessert quesadilla. The food was so good. The only thing I would change is the dessert option. I love all things s'mores so I was excited to try this option but I think something more like cinnamon/sugar tortilla chips with a fruit salsa would be better. The s'mores quesadilla just wasn't all that great but it's the only complaint I have. Overall it was a great first experience with Surcheros. read more

I'll admit to being pleasantly surprised! The short version of this review - it's good. Go there, eat there. Let's get the comparisons with Chipotle out of the way first - because of course it's glaringly obvious that this is a South Georgian version of the nationwide chain ... BUT ... it's much better ... if for NO OTHER REASON than the fact that they offer "mini" versions of all their entrees. I don't WANT a humongous "THUMP" burrito. I want something smaller with fewer calories so I don't feel bad about myself after eating it. Surcheros has that in their "mini" burrito and I'm very happy with that. Please don't let the "mini" put your off - it's a perfectly normally sized burrito and they DON'T skimp on the toppings. We came there with the big family on a Saturday evening - the service at the Valdosta branch was quick and wonderful. The people making our food smiled and dealt with our numerous children and first timers who couldn't figure out what they want. They informed us about the "different" things than Chipotle (grilling my onions and jalapeños? yes please). All the food was great. I love it. When this Tex-Mex place opened they were all the rage. The place was packed and rightly so, because they use high quality ingredients and make a really great burrito. Plus the place is always clean and most of the time, the staff is competent and helpful. The time I went before today, I found a long hair in my food. The manager was super cool about it, offered me a replacement at no cost. And then today.... really? We ordered 12" burritos and I've posted a picture of what we received. This is exactly half the size of what their 12" burrito used to be. When they first opened, they made the burritos that were actually 12", and we used to eat half and save the other half for later. Everything was FABULOUS! Y'all know I love my Mexican/Tex mex so this was right up my ally. I had original plans to go someone else for lunch but it was way too crowded so this was our backup and it was meant to be. The Lord knew where we really wanted to be. There was a long line when we got there but it moved fairly quickly and it gave us time to finally, after going back and forth, to decide what we wanted. I'm usually all for the tacos but after seeing the pictures and realizing you only get 2 tacos per order, I was a little turned off and decided to go with the nachos and I'm so glad I did. I would say they have the usual choice of toppings but what caught my attention is that you can have some of them sautéed in a sauce of your choice. How yummy is that?! And the queso?! OMG. Talk about yummy!! I haven't had much cheese dip that tastes as good as theirs. Also, cheese dip comes automatically with the nachos BUT you have the choice to either have them put it on or get it on the side and they aren't stingy with it at all. I could live off queso so that little bit made my heart very happy. Everything was seasoned so perfectly and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Prices were reasonable and customer service was awesome, not just saying that because I know some of them. 5/5 id recommend Surcheros and I'll most def be coming back when in town again. read more

I'm so happy this place came to Valdosta!! Good, fresh food. The only down side is that at lunch time they are PACKED. It's in a good area so I think many people choose to go on their lunch break because it's convenient. I ordered online and it is way faster than going in and waiting in line. They have a salsa bar as well which is good. I've never actually eaten inside but there seems to be a lot of room. Tried a burrito bowl yesterday for the first time, and as a Chipotle advocate I was actually pretty impressed! I give them the edge over Burritos Mexican Grill in terms of freshness, I just wish they had more meat options (chorizo, barbacoa, maybe carnitas). This place blows other burrito bars out of the water! After Moe's changed their chicken, I thought I'd forever be deprived of a great burrito bar. (Don't talk to me about Barberito's or Chipotle.) But Surcheros gave me hope again! The menu is simple -- covers all the basics with all the fixings to make your order totally customizable. The grilled chicken quesadilla was the perfect size (the mini wouldn't have quite satisfied), and the mini nachos were more than plenty for a meal or a shareable. The toppings were all fresh and served up generously. The staff were so nice, as well. The cashier carried our food to our table, and another employee came around to our table to check on us. This establishment is very rude. When I walked in for a pick up order I went to the area designated and while I waited I was asked by two separate employees if I was here for door dash. Yet, the person of a different ethnicity behind was not asked once. Then I was the last person to be served even though I had called a little while earlie (it's understandable they were busy). However, while I was waiting in the pick up area there was liquid from the ceiling dripping on me. Once I addressed this issue with an employee stated "yeah it's just something that happens". I finally about to pay but she had to finish putting away they put queso all over the take out cup so I kindly asked her to wipe it off and she had an attitude. Decided to stop by this restaurant one day after going to Smallcakes. I was NOT disappointed. I got the burrito bowl with steak. The meat wasn't tough it was very soft and the rice was just perfect. The guac is really good and so is the queso. A small container with the chips cam really fill you up. The salsas we not watery. They are pretty thick and spicy. The lines move pretty fast and all the employees are very friendly. The only thing and i don't know if it is just me and my shoes but the floor close to the soda machine and near salsa bar is a little slippery. I will be returning. read more

Food is good, inside is always clean, skimpy of the amount of meat that is given to you. They load you with chips and vegetables to the top so there is a plus. The best part of this place is they give you guac, sour cream, and queso. They also have a huge variety of hot sauce. The worst dining experience I've had in quite a while. All items that should have been warm were cool, cheese would not even melt over grilled chicken and rice. Cleanliness seemed far from a concern for the team behind the counter. Lids of beans and rice had hardened juice crusted on them, a mysterious liquid ran nearly the entire service bar. Along with a small patch of slimy brown film near the tortilla warmer. In the cold serve area, nearly every vegetable was contaminated by its neighbor on the bar. The sneeze guard was covered in a layer of dust and floor littered with chips. I will not be back no mater what is said in response as I've worked in food service and can tell this was not a isolated incident, but a lack of management and control. read more
