Chicken Quesadilla

Good grief this place was so delish!!! Great prices too - another place in town down the road decided to inflate their prices ! the hubby n I decided to try somethin new out and we were not disappointed y'all come out and support this place ! We also had a guava daiquiri - but y'all - there was little to no alcohol in it so if u get that tell em to load. It. Uppp. That was my ONLY qualm with this place !

I don't know why when I travel to Valdosta for work, I want Mexican food. Maybe because I see an abnormal number of Mexican restaurants on yelp when I'm search in this area. Well this visit, I found El Cazador. When I got to the restaurant, I was immediately intrigued by the outside. They have deers on the building which is pretty different, but hey I enjoy different so why not give it a go. I guess it ties in nicely to the name El Cazador "the hunter". When I went inside, I was seated by a very nice server. I made it a the tail end of lunch, so the restaurant wasn't busy. I perused through the menu and found something that caught my eye, the fajita quesadilla. The quesadilla was good. Similar to many other Mexican restaurants that I've been to. I guess you can reinvent the wheel, but I still enjoyed the food. Also, a special shot out to the salsa. I love good salsa and this was very tasty with just the right amount of heat. Don't forget the fresh tortillas chips fresh out the frier.

The blue margarita will get you right!!! No need for a pitcher 1 is enough, or maybe 2. And the shrimp fajitas are the best!

Was on my way home from Florida and stopped for some food. The food was not good, had no taste at all, it looks good in the photo but there's no flavor. Nobody else in my family liked their meals.

Arroz con Pollo - Add onions and peppers of course!

El Caz is my Mexican restaurant standard in Valdosta. I mainly like it here because of price and menu options. I love the arroz con pollo and I add peppers and onions. It's a bed of rice with grilled chicken (and veggies if you add them) with cheese dip on top. I like this because is good and instead of ordering cheese dip too, I scoop up some of the rice and cheese on my chips. There's frequently $2.99 grande house margarita specials- they are strong and good!

Strong!

Presidente margaritas were huge and strong and delicious and a bargain at $7! We ordered takeout. It was average but our bartender was great. Really nice. The drinks were a 4 but food and overall atmosphere a 3.

Interesting mural inside the restaurant

El Cazador has been our friends' choice for the Sunday post-church meal for the last two years I've tried most things on the menu and haven't been extremely impressed nor disappointed. For lunch, I always recommend the Arroz Texano with added peppers and onions (free of charge). It is really good and affordable. The quality of the servers varies per visit. Most of the time we get good service! Although, there are better, more traditional Mexican restaurants in town, El Cazador is pretty good!

Been twice now and the food was delicious both times. Skinny margaritas weren't bad either!

Decided to pop in and give this place a try after seeing it on Google restaurants. My family and I…read moreenjoy authentic Mexican food, and the menu/location seemed to advertise such. This place is in the back side of a store. It's very open and colorful. It looks as if it may feature a buffet, but there wasn't one today. The table gets complimentary corn chips and salsa. We decided to order a variety of items such as tacos, sopes, and a burrito. It was all asada for us today. Unfortunately, all of our asada dishes had a lot of fat/grissle. I wouldn't mention it if it were a piece, but it was a fair amount. My dish, considering it was a large burrito, didn't seem to have much meat, either. It was also an open burrito where the edges weren't folded in so that got a little messy. Overall, the flavors in the dishes were nice, but there were a couple iffy things. I'd give it a 3.5 but considering the prices, cleanliness, and flavors I will bump it to 4.

I was so surprised to see that Baxley has the REAL DEAL Mexican food. It is located behind the CVS…read moreacross from their drive thru. I lived on the Valley (South Texas) border for serval years and would visit Northern Mexico often to eat and shop. I haven't had this type of food in years other than in places like Atlanta and D.C. I have never had a Sope in the states like I had here. I have had similar Central American sopes in the U.S. but they are a little different than Mexican sopes I am used to. The Pastor is incredibly delicious. Full of porky, pineappley, annatto spiced flavor. The lengua, asada, carnitas, and borrego (lamb) are fantastic as well (I only wish they had cabrito but the borrego was good enough). They are served many different fashions including with the authentic and traditional "silver dollar" corn tortilla tacos. The rice and beans are of the same quality. The Aguas Frescas like Horchata and Melon are rich and full of natural flavors. They do serve menudo and have a great priced lunch buffet I have not tried yet. The service is good, Spanish helps but you can navigate the experience well enough. The attached store is full of everything you need for your Mexican home cooking spice needs and candies like spicy mango lollies, Rosa Mazapan, and many others are available at cheap prices. If you are missing the real deal Mexican experience like I was you will not be disappointed. No gringo counterfeiters here. This place will take you home. If you don't know what real Mexican food is give it a try. Some things will be familiar, mostly in name, but this is NOT American style Mexican food.
