We haven't been to a cook out in a while and honestly nothing has changed except the prices . It's the same crappy food for more money unfortunately. The burger we got was dried out then chicken nuggets were rubber and the cheese bites barely had any cheese. The soda machine smelled terrible like mold and for get about the bathrooms. We were passing through on our way home from Florida and stopped for a shake. First of all, Customer service is terrible. We waited several minutes before anyone took our order, even though a couple of workers walked past the counter with no kind of acknowledgement. Secondly, I left my wallet there but did not realize it until my bank called me with potential fraud. When I called cook out to see if my wallet was there I was told by a lady that I needed to come in to identify it and they would give it to me. When I stated that I live 2 1/2 hours away and I just needed to make sure that I was indeed my wallet before making the drive , they told me that they'd take down my name and number and give me a call back. I called back after an hour to verify that it is my wallet so that I could get on the road to go pick it up and I was told by a gentleman (one of the managers) that that my husband, son or dad came to pick it up already last-night . I then stated that that is not possible because we live 2 1/2 hrs away and I didn't even realize it was missing until this morning when my bank called me. The manager then said he's sorry, but the wallet is not in their store. I realize this is due to my negligence in leaving my wallet, but the staff is here is not honest and very unprofessional. read more

If you want food you could've cooked yourself served to you in a prison-cafeteria atmosphere, Cook Out is the place for you. Yeah, the food is cheap but you're far from getting your money's worth at this joint. Service is terrible. Imagine the cashier rolling her eyed back into her head as she trudges from the back to the front, forcing you to break up your order into smaller segments as she handles whatever it was she's preoccupied with. Driving Interstate 75 to Atlanta can be an adventure. Both the good and bad kind. Funny how every time I stop to fill up the gas tank, I can never get my receipt at the pump. I have to "see cashier" inside for my receipt. And with fast food restaurants, I am better going to the drive thru for my purchase. Not due to the pandemic, but due to all of the crazy/stupid stuff I have had to deal with. Such as being at a McDonald's in Cordelle, Georgia. I am at the counter giving the cashier my order, only for them to stop in the middle of me placing an order and proceed to assist another customer. And this happened on two separate visits. Or the time I was standing at the counter in a Zaxby's in Adel, Georgia looking at the menu. And I have a guy panhandling me for money while the employees ignored what was happening. Almost to a point where I do not feel like even stopping. But seeing this Cook Out location in Tifton, I decided to give it a try. Founded in Greensboro, North Carolina, in 1989, there are several throughout the southeast. Pulling up to the drive thru, the gentleman working the window welcomed me and asked for my order. And believe me, there are many choices. I said hello and told him that being my first visit, I needed a moment. So let me break it down. You order your "tray", which includes your choice of a burger, hot dog, quesadilla (chicken or beef), chicken sandwich (regular, cajun, spicy, BBQ), chicken strips, or barbecue sandwich. And then you get your choice of two sides. I ordered the regular burger, which is two regular hamburger patties, with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I selected onion rings and hush puppies for my two sides. Other sides offered are French fries, cheese bites, chicken bites, corn dog, quesadilla, cole slaw, and chili. You get all that? Oh, and your order includes a large beverage. My food was served hot with just a few minutes wait. My burger had that "back yard cook out" taste that they advertise. It was really good. The onion rings were hot and crispy, and the hush puppies were tasty. They are, however, just deep fried cornbread bites. Unlike the seasoned hush puppies you would get at a seafood restaurant. I ordered a Coke for my beverage. And Cook Out also has many flavored milkshakes available. And during the month of December, they feature an egg nog milkshake. During July-August, a watermelon milkshake is served. My food was good, but I wish they had a few different offerings for sides. Such as corn on the cob, potato/macaroni salad, or baked beans. Like what you would have at your back yard cook out. I will most likely stop in here again when I am driving up to Atlanta again. And I do not have to worry about anyone panhandling me at the drive thru. Oh, I just remembered. That happened to me at the McDonald's drive thru on South Orange Avenue in Orlando. The advertisement on their sign says fresh hamburgers. If you don't have hamburgers you should probably put that on a sign at the drive-through before customers get stuck in it. We were passing through from KY, my aunt was behind the wheel and unfamiliar with cookout. She was fumbling through the order and so was the cashier, who another employee jumped in to help and explained he was new. They were very patient while we also were deliberating with young, tired boys. When we (finally) got to the window, the you could tell the young man at the window had the sweetest smile, even behind his mask. This place is terrible. I'm not sure how it stays open with the quality of staff there...The girl behind the counter comes flying out claiming my husband hit her car with his truck. Clearly just wanted money we didn't have. Stated that her car was dented. I told her that's the reflection of the parking line (it was wet on the ground). She comes over realizes yes there is no dent and is in fact just a reflection but is still screaming that he hit it. Things this food service worker didn't realize: my husband had a backup camera Also a truck his size absolutely would have dented it and there would have been WHITE paint transfer. We didn't even get to order. We just left. I tried to be nice and talk to her even though my husband was rightfully mad. She still had the attitude even though she was wrong. A I'm sorry I was mistaken would have went way further but her pride wouldn't allow it. Don't go here. The staff is ridiculous. Also my small son was present when she decided to launch her verbal assault on us. A disgrace to the franchise. You absolutely need to clean this place up staff wise. Stopped by the cookout in Tifton ga and everything was going fine until we got to the window.I placed my order and received my total then said I have a second order. After placing my second order I wasn't give the total amount but told to pull around and that's what we did. when we got to the window I paid for the first order and the cashier seemed like she had a attitude. she finally told me the second amount and as I was getting the money from my son she huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes and had another cashier to take the money. After we got our second order I asked for some ketchup and the cashier handed me some but it was sticky and nasty so I asked for more. she looks and say they're all sticky!
