My first time at Cook Out. I had heard about it so thought I would give it a try. The value was an A+, two of us were able to eat for under $20. And this included a milkshake. This is why I gave them 4 stars. The highlight was the milkshake. The food was alright. Let's face it - it's fast food. The cashier was attentive and patient. Customer Service was terrible, when I got to the windows I had already seen that she was giving me the wrong order, so I told her that's not my order so she asked what did I gave, she gave me my milkshake & a bag and said we waiting on your corndogs I look in the bags with hushpuppies in it that I didnt order so when she open they windows I told her I had fries, she took the bag back gave me my fries but held onto my corndogs that was sitting by the register, so she finally give me my corndog but she proceeded to shove them in my hand & I told her I will be calling corporate, don't make no sense because she couldn't get my order right an the corndogs was burnt all the way to the meat I wish I could post a picture.​ read more

Employees still not trained to make milkshakes? Sweet sugary syrup with a little blob of ice cream right on top not even blended. It's gotten worse instead of better. Please teach them to drain the syrup off the fruit and nuts before it goes in the cup to leave room for the ice cream. Then blend it together. That was $4 wasted and in the trash. read more

They are rude when they take your order they say " what you want? What was that? LATE NIGHT STAFF RUDE AND HATEFUL TO CUSTOMERS May as well shut it down for late night because you got people SCREAMING AT CUSTOMERS and calling them names that are going to start a fight. A customer literally got called a "liar" by staff over sauce. I've worked in a lot of restaurants and have never seen anyone SCREAM across the restaurant that she "knew the customer was lying" about not having sauce in a bag. The customer VERY NICELY asked for his missing sauce. I guess she put the sauce in SOMEBODY'S bag, but not his. Drive through took over 30 mins. Even though it was a little busy, it should not have taken that long. Over 4-5 mins per car with the employees eating shakes inside while I was waiting for my food. No apology or "sorry this is taking so long". Shouldn't take 25 mins from when you order your food until it's ready. Food ending up being phenomenally good, so 5 stars there. Being from the Charlotte area, I am still astounded that Cook-Out is a generally indoor establishment. We enjoyed being able to sit and eat inside on a particularly chilly night. It came as a luxury of which we were more than willing to take advantage. The decor is very befitting of a college town quick service eatery - sports banners and a scoreboard clock on the wall which, more often than not, features Clemson on the losing end of an unnamed visitor. The wooden paneling is typical of any Cook-Out. The man behind the desk was very nice and served us quickly. The milkshakes, too thick to drink through a straw, were nevertheless magnificent. The Cook-Out tray is the best deal anywhere: one main course and two sides. I got a burger with a quesadilla and a chicken ranch wrap. It went pretty well. The food isn't the absolute best I've ever had, but it isn't terrible either, and for the price and time you spend on it, you can't beat Cook-Out. We could've gone for it to be a little warmer on the inside too, but we had also spent the previous forty minutes trying to change a flat tire in the freezing cold. Not Cook-Out's fault. read more

I have been several times in the past and they have all been good experiences. Tonight, however, my friends and I went at around 1:40 AM and the person on the speaker told us that they were "closed". After checking online again AND on the menu board it specifically said that they did not in fact close until 2 AM. This may seem like a mild inconvenience but the principle of the matter is in the pure laziness that the employees must've had if they refused to serve nearly 20 minutes before closing. Hours matter. Cook-Out has been the jam in Spartanburg ever since it opened in 2010, replacing Dunkin' Donuts. ... And I'm a fan of it. While it gets really, crazy busy after high school football games at night, it's a great value for fast food. I always get their chicken tender tray with fries and the chicken quesadilla. However, sometimes they skimp on the food, with fewer fries and smaller chicken tenders, but $5 for a tray? How can you complain. Not to mention, that Oreo shake is delicious! Very disappointed in this locations service. Ordered an Oreo milkshake and basically got all vanilla ice cream with very little Oreo. Went inside to ask for Oreo to be added and the worker acted very rude as if I was making a ridiculous request. They remade my milkshake but it was exactly the same as the first. My husband's cousin introduced us to the Cook Out while we were in SC for a family reunion. The food is inexpensive and tastes great. It' reminds me of a P Terry's with a larger selection. I liked this place so much that I went twice. I opted for the corn dog and it was only a buck. However, the milk shakes is where it's at. I had the peach cobbler and the banana peanut butter shakes. My husband tried the chocolate cobbler shake. I didn't taste a shake that I didn't like. They are so thick that they have to be eaten with a spoon. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmmm!! I have been to two different Cook-outs now and have been very satisfied each time. Their burgers and toppings lectuce, tomatoes and pickles do not look like they have been ran over by a truck or produced in some factory. They look and taste like they just came out of the garden. They have 40 different types of milkshakes and are made with real fruit. The cost is super cheap, $4.99 for a burger, two sides and a drink. I have had their fries, coleslaw and onion rings and would definetely pick this over any of the fast food options out there. read more

ALWAYS check your order! Yes you should likely do this everywhere especially if going through the drive through, but especially at Cook Out. Every single time, without exception, that we have visited Cookout (3 locations near me - all have same issue), something is wrong with the orders. The most common is if you ask for something to be added to a burger/sandwich... and you tell them to add it, do not replace what normally comes on it but add items... what you get is only the items you called out. For instance today I asked what came on a spicy chicken sandwich. She told me and I said "great, can you add mustard and ketchup... not replace what comes on it, but ADD mustard and ketchup." So you can imagine what I got: ONLY mustard and ketchup! This happens every single time, so all cashiers can't be this bad, so I suspect it is problem with their order system and how items are entered. And Spartanburg so I been hearing so much good things from friends and family about cook out and there shakes. So I had to try it for myself. Went in and there were three ppl in front of me. A few people in lobby eating. My first impression wasn't that good. Because when I came in it looked out dated, but I never judge a book by its cover . So when I got to the register a young lady was staring at us with no type of greeting like (hii how are you) we look at her and told her we are new here never been. She stayed quite. We were like OK... after we started ordering and in middle of our sentence she yelled something to the back staff while we was talking. (Which is very rude) we continued to order. And we got no type of welcome to Spartanburg or anything. So when we went to sit down we didn't want to sit anywhere because all the tables were dirty and had food and trash still on the tables. And the one the was cleaned we sat down and the table was very sticky. I don't think I'll ever be back to this location just to to the lack of customer service and. Dirty tables. Being busy is no excuse for dirty lobby for your new customers. I just hope Management can read this and understand where I'm coming from this.
